  1. Theoretically, shouldn't everyone but the top scientific positions (maybe even those) be replaced with cheap, company-owned robots/borgs that don't collect pay, have a very small chance of fucking up and are 100% loyal and hardworking? bonus question: How are our character's pays? (Don't need exact numbers, just say shitty/meh/ok/good or something)
  2. How do breaks and off-time work in-lore? Do all Trasen employees get a limited amount of off-time each shift? Are there station-wide breaks? Or does it work differently?
  3. hey I don't know how to start this so here we go Give each character a procedural bank account that saves between rounds Make players earn money for their character by using that character during a round Allow players to spend the money on shift-start items or other goodies Change the ammount obtained based on the % of time actually spent playing the shift on that character AND the station's Total earnings "Total earnings" is the sum of work the research division carried out during a round. (Inventing items, reaching new research levels, breeding new slimes, creating new plants, discovering artifacts, etc) Give the department heads the ability to administer bonuses to individual crewmembers
  4. For easy copy-pasting: I also made and uploaded a book version to the library network. Tell me if there's anything missing.
  5. -Xeno researching an actual new spess xeno. -R&D make a new weapon. -R&D actually do some research which lasts post round. -Security have to track and arrest a spy. -Exec's come on station for a meeting. -Tourists come on station. -Air systems break. -A small meteor hits the station. -A spess craft needs to be built and then be towed away. -A new station needs to be built and then towed away. -A passing NT ship must be repaired. -A passing NT ship must be repaired but HOLY SHIT WE DEAD SPACE NOW. -A VIP tours the station. -A cure for a virus needs to be developed for off station. -A new virus needs to be developed for off station. -A new spess canon needs to be built. -A thunderdome game is hosted on station. -A medical emergancy is diverted to the station. -The station has a slow collision with an asteroid, has to be reapired and dislodged. -A strange artificat is found and needs researching. -Large amounts of food/guns/materials needs to be made and shipped off station. -Sec' Cadets tour the station. -Some spess pests infest the station. The list goes on and on and on. All of these sound awesome
  6. Doesn't have to change anything mechanically, just let the person eating it know his/her food is stale/cold. OR make it less filling. BUT WHY??? --> It's realistical --> Promotes more bartender-esk approach to playing the chef. Chefs could take orders and prepare food only when asked to, instead of making 20+ food items on round start and having nothing to do for the rest of the round
  7. So If you guys don't consider Aurora to be heavyRP, do you consider any ss13 server to be heavyRP? (just wondering) EDIT: Can you give me an example of a heavyRP server/game? Any game.
  8. Thanks for responding! I understand what you're saying, but I'd like to try and justify these errors: (I might still be wrong though. Feel free to correct me) The thing is, Xamir is supposed to be rather young. Old enough to be considered an adult, but without a clear focus in his life. That's why I went with the jack-of-all-trades thing. He hasn't found anything he'd specialise in yet, and the civilian jobs he takes are just temporary. That's also why I went with the first name only. According to the wiki, "Name additions are a common facet of Skrell culture. While not necessary in Jargon society, it is common for a Skrell to add a name, word, or phrase to their name at some point in their lifetime. ". He, having just finished basic education, won't have any name additions. (And it would make for a cool RP moment to "adopt" one after a canonical round). As for the relations, he won't be very keen to meet or befriend machine-based races/Unathi. He'd try to avoid talking to them, but he won't stir up any trouble or start any conflicts. I imagine other Skrell would look down at him, maybe even despise him. He could try to befriend them and explain his decision, but I think he'd focus on meeting and befriending humans instead.
  9. I'd like the day-to-day life of ordinary people explained a bit more.
  10. It'll also take anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes to get a round finally voted in. Don't tell me the game would need 20 minutes just to recalculate some votes.
  11. RaD isn't fun anyway + all the other jobs / scientist sub-jobs have written guides, because a) The characters are expexted to know what they're doing b) No-one wants the Xenobiologist/Toxin-researcher/Xenoarcheologist to experiment and ruin everything c) The stuff we're doing on-board isn't research, anyway. Pretty sure RaD records are ICly deleted after each shift, and how to achieve them should be common knowledge. Same with breeding slimes or building bombs.
  12. -It's not that complicated. From a voter's viewpoint, you vote only once -The other system can lead to an unpopular or broken gamemode being picked just because one guy voted for it, possibly ruining the round for everyone else The other system doesn't fix the problem of people strategizing and thinking about everyone else's votes. It just intruduces randomness into the mix. EDIT: STV still takes every single vote into account, but in a more fair, democratic way
  13. This is how it'd work: 1.--> voting begins, you can select your favorite option, your second favorite, third, etc... (depends on the total number of options) 2.--> voting ends, one option "wins" 3.--> the option with the least votes gets removed and its votes are transfered to the voters's second options. 4.-->Repeat 3. until one option remains and is declared the winner Result: Everyone can vote without thinking about other people's votes and it'd be still fair EDIT: Pretty sure bay has this already?
