  1. BYOND Key:plaugewalker Character Names:Adam Haywood Species you are applying to play:Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):RGB 150, 180, 255 Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yes, indeed I have Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I have been determined as of late to play this role, with the lore background. And, the whole aspect and the chance of one odd variable here and there, even for an unbound. It really reminds me of the old Clone Troopers from star wars as a sorta analogy. Mostly, ground side aspect for the bound, or almost free thought for the unbound where they can make choices on their own with free will. I mean each unbound has a story to almost tell. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: They're a hiveminded cyborg bug race, they possess four eyes, two large main ones and two small ones underneath both very sensitive to most forms of light. They possess hivemind link to all of each other from one hive, there are different castes in the species. Bound, and unbound one retaining it's old intellegience, while the other is a lobotomized slave contracted out to work in it's field it's assigned too. While unbound possess the thought and free will to make some split decisions on their own they still have a field they've specialized in, some can even go off the grid. Character Name:Ka'Akaix'Kazik C'thur Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Ka'Akaix'Kazik C'thur, from brood of Mouv'lek'tanta, was always curious. Where did these data streams source? Why do we filter through them? What is it really like outside of VR? As a Lin'tiyakt, Kazik had only served a small amount of time outside of VR - a quarter of their lifespan, five years - with the most of their time being relatively cautious and safe diving into the data stream. The last couple of years, it was all Kazik did - time after time, dive in, grab anything, dive out. Though they rarely hauled anything big, they were spared the cruel fate of being flushed away forever, all this time. All this time, wondering all these things... Kazik wanted answers. So... What is it really like outside of VR? Being knowledgable in sciences was enough to get a job, and with the recent opportunities sprouting from the contract the Jargon Federation managed to get the hive, Kazik had an opporunity. So deciding to leave the virtual, only to find a culture that crushes questioning underfoot with their own brands of 'truth.' Jargon was a miserable place, one that actively worked against Kazik. The only job they could get within the federation was the time honored position of calculation monkey for one prestigious skrell or another. The time spent writing arcane mathematical equations was more time that ticked away from Kazik. No matter how good he did or fast he performed, the truth revealed to him here is that they would always be a calculation monkey within Federation space. Kazik plotted then to change that. The Ta round up laborers frequently, with some being drafted for work outside of the federation with a company called, Nanotrasen. Kazik did not know what a Nanotrasen was, but they knew that it was better than what they were currently doing. Kazik plotted for days for a way to lose their job and ended up taking the simplest direction. Being wrong. A switched integer here, a carried value there, and the arcane scrawls of math he performed became meaningless. Kazik figured, if he did this enough he would surely be fired, but to his surprise, the calculation was not found to be wrong. The flight solution was sent up the chain, to be used for a skrellian weather control satellite. Kazik could not admit that his calculations were wrong, as he did not want to draw suspicion, but he watched in dull horror as the Rocket exploded on the tarmac, engulfing its adjoining conning tower in bright orange flames. Two people died from what Kazik later learned, but by then he was already forming a new plan of escape. He had to leave the federation before he was 'found out.' To this, he did the one thing he never thought he would do. He lied to his mother Ta when she was asking for laborers from her hive-cell. He lied, and this lie is what bore him away from the federation, towards the answers they sought. What do you like about this character? The fact that he is an adventerous, bright eyed Vaurca ready to see the galaxy with the looming knowledge of the hive way back in his mind. How would you rate your role-playing ability?Average in terms of it. I been outta the HRP scene since my retirment from HL2RP in 2013. Notes:
  2. BYOND Key:plaugewalker Character Names:T'loza Species you are applying to play:Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): (RGB:51, 51, 0) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yes, I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race:I wish to play this race as it will provide a new view into the alternate ways of the species in Tau Ceti, live and survive in their day to day lives. And, to enjoy a fresh new experience in Aurora, as this will open up different avenues for me to play on. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:The fact, that there are a variety of broods to this species. Like, the Til'yez, who show more of a beauracratic stance on things, and value each department of theirs independently, Character Name: Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Unbound T'loza was born into the Ax'tal Brood, and from an early age it diligently studied the hard sciences - engineering, mathematics, and computer science. Its dream was to design a new Cephalon, a metal and silicon Cephalon that would free the Vaurca of their reliance on living tissue and prevent the death of more innocents. The rest of the Board of Mechanics found his theories laughable - organic tissue was superior to mechanical, and that was something that everybody knew. T'loza found his work unwelcome, and only stayed on the Board of Mechanics because they lacked the heart to kick him out. In order to push away the sting of rejection, T'loza volunteered to Descend as often as possible, getting muck and fluids on its claws in the Birthing Rooms. When the Black Numbers came calling, T'loza didn't need to be pushed - it volunteered at the first opportunity. Nothing could be worse than obstetrics What do you like about this character? The fact that he shows that he wishes to push the Vaurca into a new era where they do not have to rely on Cephalons, and can use synthetics to aid into their lives, rather than needing to rely on a half-semi living bio-server made up of a Cephalons brain to house the Virtual. How would you rate your role-playing ability?8 out of a solid 10. My role-playing experience comes slightly from eight years of D n D, and Cyberpunk 2013 and 2020. Notes:
