  1. As far as I can tell, the only truth in your statement would possibly be having discord notifications disabled. At the time I wrote the complaint (over 24 hours since I messaged you), you had viewed my profile 11 hours prior. Your discord showed you playing 'Aurora Station' and 'Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order' on Sunday. I don't have 24 points, I have 2. Those being the only points I've ever had. And lastly, there is no abusive language in that status. I'd like the points removed.
  2. BYOND Key: Trazz666 Staff BYOND Key: itzal Game ID: N/A, forum issue Reason for complaint: Received a 2 point warning with a 24 hour forum mute on my forum account over a status, was ignored when asking for clarification of abusive behavior. Evidence/logs/etc: Screenshot included of attempted contact with Shadow via discord, gave 24 hours to respond but was ignored. (the edit on the message was for a spelling error) Additional remarks: I should first note that Shadow has not only been online on discord since my message, but has even viewed my forum account page some time after the DM was sent. The status in question was "Trans rights are human rights. Get fucked xenos *dab*" and I'm legitimately confused what about the statement is abusive. 'Xenos' in this context is, obviously, in reference to the fictitious species of the server. And as far as I can tell, dabbing is not against any forum rules. I'd like the points removed from my account, thank you.
  3. BYOND key: Trazz666 Character names: Salani Raj, Leonard Smith, Ob-Servo, Zozk Ursao, Jaylee Zaun, Brooke Rosensteel, and many more. How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Since day one. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: The simplest answer is because I lost my whitelist due to an abrupt ban. It's hard going from command back to a basic player. Why did you come to Aurora?: Because years and years ago, the Apollo server had enough of the owner, Laser50's childish behavior, and there was a mass exodus into 2 servers. Aurora was one of them. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?: Yes, once. Apparently serious enough to warrant a 3 day ban. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: In my 2018 application when I came back to the server, I made some flowery statement on how roleplay should be about escapism and having fun by losing yourself by pretending to be another person. That may still be true. But, I've found that in the context of Space Station 13 Aurora Server, roleplay largely boils down to a willing surrender of mechanical prowess (mainly when it comes to combat) for the sake of realism. Taking things like fear and pain into consideration while facing combat/hostile encounters, but also taking things like comfort and personal preferences in a more casual setting. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Administrative. They are largely meant to be enforcers of corporate regulations and policy on their department. They're also there to guide/instruct newer members, delegate tasks to subordinates, and to help keep the captain from spacing themselves by managing their department efficiently. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: It's about the facilitating of fun or conflict, mostly. As a command staff member, you're entrusted with a 'power'. It's not real, mechanical power, but a power of authority that as a roleplay server we've all agreed to acknowledge. You use that authority in good faith in relation to the other players, taking their fun into consideration, and not abuse it. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career?: Well this question is new. There's been questions about the Jargon Empire and their possible kidnapping of crew aboard the Aurora and killing another. Most of my command characters haven't been used since then, but my captain is now very suspicious and untrusting of Skrell as a whole. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?: Captain, Head of Personnel, and Research Director. I might eventually work up my engineering skills to try CE at some point. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Captain Leonard Smith, Head of Personnel Salani Raj, and Research Director Ob-Servo How would you rate your own roleplaying?: About a 7 or 8 Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?: I do, yes. Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?: Very much so. Extra notes:
  4. That's not what happened, and it makes me sound like I was meta-grudging them. Security was already down there without me. They searched me as well. And by 'grab one of his bombs' I did physically pick it up, but then I picked all 4 of them up. Not aggressively, but moving them to count them. Towards the end, I put one back together to test it on the range, as I already stated, but Terry was the one who instigated hostilities and attacked. Being annoyed with someone ICly and OOCly aren't mutually exclusive. The fact I wasn't able to do my job and make bombs is annoying both as a player and as an antagonist, and using that as evidence of an OOC grudge is self-fulfilling. It's clear you're going to keep the ban, but you can at least stop making it seem I was maliciously harassing this person unjustly.
  5. BYOND Key: Trazz666 Total Ban Length: 4320 minutes (3 days) Banning staff member's Key: alberyk (@Alberyk) Reason of Ban: Reason: For calling someone a cunt in aooc after they were killed by the player, right after being warned for being overly agressive to them in aooc and then doing all they could in character to screw them over.. Reason for Appeal: TL;DR I was banned for an OOC grudge that didn't happen on the precedent of a largely invalid warning. The situation was that someone (Terry Dyre, played by @streex) and I both spawned in as traitor scientists and wanted to work toxins. He got there first (curse my loadout equipping time) and started making very poor bombs. I expressed in AOOC that the round had only been going for a few minutes and I already hated it, because now I had nothing to do. Goret pointed out that I was being aggressive over nothing, and yes my wording was very displeased, but that was the extent of it. I dick around for a while (because I locked myself into a character whose only purpose is bomb making and I had nothing else to do) and I eventually came back to toxins to check in. I saw Terry leave toxins with bombs in his bag, and figured this would be a good way to get him out of my hair, so I reported it. I was PM'd strangely quick by Alb over this, because he felt I was bringing OOC feelings into it, and that me reporting it was being overly hostile IC because of it. My reasoning was deemed insufficient I suppose, because I was given a warning over it. Anything further between Terry and my character (from my side, at least) was nothing but pointing out the inefficiency of his bombs and making an attempt to explain how to make them better. Circumstances forced us to be stuck together in toxins with 2 officers, and when I went to test one of his bombs at the range he walked up, weaken pen'd me and put me in the disposal, and at some point an explosion happened and gibbed him and the 2 officers. I called them a name in a heated moment over AOOC. I was then shortly banned by Alb using the justification of the warning given earlier and that I was 'doing all I could to screw them over'. Checking the logs, he mentioned me screwing them over at least 4 times, which never happened outside the 1 report to security over them. In summary: The basis of this ban is under the assumption I was OOCly meta-grudging someone for taking a job slot, when all I did was report something they did for purely IC benefit, as well as a warning over being aggressive. Granted yes, I was annoyed at them OOCly, but despite the claims nothing was brought over ICly. As for the warning that set the precedent for a full ban, I feel it's largely unjustified in the first place, as the AOOC behavior at that point was already handled, and I was an antag and can expected to act hostile in IC. I also want to mention after cooling off I do feel bad about the insult. I've had a really bad week (dog at the vet, having to work overtime, ect) and I let it leek into my attitude, and I apologize. (side note: the unban request format should probably be updated to be properly copy+pasted)
  6. I don't think a button pressing macro is what's stopping that antagonist. If they're free to interact with an object (in this case, the button), then that means this antagonist isn't pointing a gun or some other weapon at this captain to restrict their movements. This also means they could just very easily type ";help office" and the AI would be able to see their rank and message, and have the office in-view and bolted in 2 clicks. Not to mention the captain could always just pull their self defense pistol and defend themself. Being bad at antagonism isn't a reason to exclude a feature. Plus, even if the alarm was tripped, you still have a living captain to hold hostage. Or just murder them for flipping the switch, steal their hardsuit and bust out into space. If you don't have a backup plan and are relying on not being caught in the act, then your plan was doomed from the start.
  7. -1 from me, mainly on the grounds that there's not a real problem with telescience, just one person abusing it. However, knowing how the server's been going, saying no means essentially nothing. I feel like this device should have to be an actively activated one that uses up power faster than the apc can charge, meaning you can't just flip it on and be protected forever.
  8. I like this idea. I feel the button should be physically under their desk like they are IRL, requiring them to right/alt-click the tile to hit it. Doing so would also trigger the use object restriction on aiming mechanics, meaning any captain/head that tries to do it while being aimed at gets shot (and probably bwoinked).
  9. Yes, good. There could even be options for nicotine and nicotine free bags.
  10. Honestly just make the emagged plasma cutter the same as the handheld. At that point, anyone killed or even maimed by it can only blame themselves.
  11. It's literally a second dock that you just need to send a fax to reach the merchant station. It's a much better solution than to disable merchant antag status all together. Besides, merchant doesn't spawn every round, this suggestion is largely unneeded. I was offering a solution that actually adds gameplay, rather than removing it.
  12. Instead of punishing all merchants for 1 players bad antagging, why not come up with something interesting that solves the root problem. Besides being terribly annoying, a 5 minute jump time isn't going to solve the problem of the inaccessible station. My solution is as follows: integrate the rarely used option to fax the Tau Ceti government. We all know the merchant operates outside of NanoTrasen authority, but not Tau Ceti's legal authority. When merchant does x thing, a warrant request can be sent to the government requesting a police/military shuttle be sent. Admins can then send a shuttle to a second dock just north of the merchant dock to pick up officers or whatever. It'd have a console that can bluespace it to the merchant station and dock. Boom, suddenly you have a lore friendly, non-nerfing solution to the problem of the inaccessible merchant station. And if you're wondering why the government would allow a company's private security force to perform law-related arrests, you're looking too deep into it. It's a game, man.
  13. You know you're the one hydroponist who I was referencing before lol. However, I doubt you're going to be on 24/7 for all my joint rolling completely legitimate cigarette making needs.
  14. So I've been meaning to suggest this idea for over a week now, but my job has me craving death pretty busy. Essentially, this idea adds a pack of cigarette rolling papers to both the loadout screen, and biogenerators. Each pack would hold a number of papers (anywhere between 5 to 8, I feel) in a small sized pack that you can roll your own cigarettes with. To roll a cigarette, you click the rolling paper with the plant that you want to roll in hand. The plant can be dried out beforehand with the rack, or put in there raw. You're then free to light it and enjoy. To address a few things. Mechanically, when rolling a cigarette, the chemical reagents in the plant (minus nutriment) would be transferred to the newly rolled cigarette. This would allow you to smoke more than just tobacco. Examining the rolled cigarette or cigarette butt will reveal what plant was used to make the cigarette, allowing security to sniff out the Ambrosia stoners. As for the biogenerators, my argument for including them to be made is: 1. Biogenerators can already make empty cigarette shells. 2. Despite the fact that biogenerators can make empty cigarettes, you need a gardener/hydroponist to be: present, competent, and willing to work with you, something they're not exactly known for (I can name only 1). It would be a lot easier on the gardener to just make you some rolling papers for the plants you grew in the civ garden than to grind up the plants, extract the chemical reagents, and inject them into a cigarette shell.
  15. I wasn't complaining about chefs logging in, I'm complaining about the second chef slot. I realize there's 2 of everything in the kitchen for the purpose of dual chefs, but my cheffing style gets clogged up with someone else in the way. I was expressing my distaste for more than 1 person in my dang kitchen, which would be increased by allowing damn bartenders and useless servers. I can smell the traffic jam already lol.
