You've totally zero room to tell the entire community what they need to improve upon when you suffer from the same issues yourself. Just something to consider, you're not really someone in the luxurious position to be telling people what they should be doing when you're barely an authority on such things in the present. This is my opinion on the matter. I've seen some players who make an effort to try not to intentionally create a problem, I'm a neutral party as I find myself in a state of contradictory conflict. Sometimes, I tell myself that moderation should be a little strict while I tell myself that moderation team should be a little flexible. I know not where I stand. I can see a strong aggressive coming from you over a small deal, alexpkeaton. Are you having a bad day, biased against Prospekt's opinion, or something to cause a spark? Gaslighting much? So, to begin with, I'm sure this'll either be deleted (swept under the rug) or be disregarded because of the person posting this. But, I'm posting this with complete consideration of not only my own views but other's as well which I won't name for their sake. The overall server has been great in player count of course, it's pretty much always been. But, lately the staff have been taking their position way to serious to the point where they jump on you over the pettiest things. Things like handcuffing someone who took someone hostage as an HoP. Other instances include many situations of mine where I've tried to be as genuine as I could because if I said anything that was the opposite to what the staff member thought they would outright ban me. My main complaint is that staff seem to want big praise when they bwoink you. If you don't immediately apologize, kiss their feet, give them a little handy, you're fucked. If you talk back or go against when they are telling you, you'll end up with worse consequences than if you said you were wrong and apologize (even in circumstances where you weren't). Let's go back to when Aurora was first getting popular, we had the old forums, etc. Before the rebase, IIRC. Before bluesec, etc. Back when staff were actually mellow and allowed the fluidity of roleplay to go way smoother and just let things happen because they understood human nature and understood that people didn't have to act like a robot following a law set (the rules). There were hiccups but still, staff back then were way more bearable and didn't jump at literally everything. It was more understanding that it was a game, people were here to roleplay, and most importantly have fun. Now, it's treated like you're being paid 9 to 5 (you're fired if you fuck up not demoted lmao). All I'm trying to get at with this criticism is hopefully staff can read this and understand that while they take their job seriously, they shouldn't being bwoinking people over every little thing. Let people breath, if they genuinely go on a murder spree or something serious then bwoink the hell out of them. But situations like bwoinking an HoP over cuffing a hostage taker, that's retarded. Anyways, I hope this isn't disregarded for my own personal record. I've fucked up in a lot of situations, I'm not perfect, but there's been some questionable situations that not only I have been through. I'm writing this for the actual players, non-staff. Let people play and roleplay, you guys wave a flag that you don't mess with IC shit yet you do, I understand if they break a rule which messes with IC shit, but some of it can be handled IC.

I ghosted after he was cuffed. I was still playing when he was trying to get me out, but you guys pretty much fucked him over too. I told you multiple times that I'd cooperate and just wanted to sit there, so I broke the cuffs. I'm really not worried about the IC stuff, I'm just annoyed that I got banned for prematurely ghosting when I was already pretty much processed and going to be dragged to my cell anyways. Like I said, I'd understand if I had ghosted when I was initially arrested, that'd be completely justifiable.

Regardless, they did fuck all after dislocating my limbs. I literally had nothing to do but just sit there, they weren't going to create any unique RP for me that would be worth me sitting there with dislocated limbs. What would've happened is, they would've charged me, dragged me to a cell, put my shit in a locker, then opened communion, and I would've went right to the brig cryo as soon as my limbs were in tact. I'd understand if I would've ghosted right as I was caught by Azza, that would've been understandable. But, what I'm trying to get at is that everything was final. I ghosted earlier than when I would've ghosted anyways. I don't think I should be punished for that. Of course, I'm completely with you if I would've ghosted right as I was caught. I'm also still waited on an answer as to how Azza can pretty much insta neck grab as well. They bypassed all the other grabs and neck grabbed me within 1-2 seconds, I'm curious as to how they did that. e; Let me make it clear as well, my warnings are for antag related incidents, not ghosting. They aren't relevant to this incident at all, so I can't see how they could be used rather than "oh he has 2 warnings, 3rd one and he's gone" which I think is kind of silly considering those 2 warnings were genuine mistakes and I understood them and agreed not to do it again after learning said mistakes.

I would've ghosted after moving into brig cryo, so I don't see the point in a ban? Sure I've been warned 2 times this month, but I don't think it's wrong to ghost especially after I apologized for it (shouldn't of had to, but its a must these days with the current hothead staff). Not only that, but I said I wouldn't do it next time and would simply AFK until I get the chance to legitimately ghost in cryo. It was clear they only wanted to dislocate my limbs, charge me, and throw me in the brig. If you want the full details, refer to my ban appeal. But regardless, I don't think this is worth a ban and I feel that Alberyk was reaching. He also seemed to dodge the question when I asked why the Tajaran, Azza could just insta neck grab w/o force gloves. Evidence/logs/etc: N/A, look at logs it'll show. Additional remarks: There seems to be a big issue with staff being quick to warn and ban, they leave no room to breath or take wrong steps. God forbid you make a mistake, you are looking at getting yelled. I'd enjoy a little freedom to roleplay rather than getting bounced on for making genuine mistakes that every human eventually does and learns from. It's odd to me that the staff expect everyone to act perfectly or expect the big ol' hammer. Pipe down.

Reason for Appeal: I should be unbanned because regardless, I would've cryo'd in the brig. When I was initially arrested, Azza had pretty much insta neck grabbed me (idk how, asked staff, they never told me how). But regardless, they had dislocated all my limbs after I said I was going to cooperate and broke the cuffs. Every time I broke the cuffs, I stayed in the chair. To my defense, another Unathi came and say they were beating me while I was clearly surrounded and in custody. I was not being a threat to anyone. I previously stabbed Azza with a switch blade when we first got to processing because they continued to flash me in the hallway after slamming me into a window. After that, I was cooperative (breaking cuffs or not), I simply wanted to just sit in the chair and be cooperative without cuffs. Dislocating all of my limbs wasn't necessary nor was banning me because I ghosted when I would've ghosted anyway after cryoing in the brig. I refused to roleplay with beatcops. e; I'd still like an explanation on how they could bypass the loading of grabs by pretty much instantly neck grabbing me. Alberyk continued to either change the subject or didn't see me asking him how they could do it. I find it silly, people will do borderline shitty things, but if I did it I'd get bwoinked immediately. My past record has a lot of staff just bwoinking me for the smallest and most petty shit. Let alone, the staff seem to fail to realize the difference between making people understand and learn things and outright warning and banning people. If you don't lick the rim of their asshole while they're bwoinking you it turns out shit, but if you do you can weasel out of literally everything (some of the time). Sometimes, even when you apologize 5 times and realize that you're wrong and say you are, they want to be stuck up as fuck and still say "well ur wrong so bye bye kiddo lmao xd smh tbh". It's a server not a professional corporation, we're meant to have fun, not hate the staff team because they're anal over every single thing and don't leave people to breath. I'm sure I'll get silenced for speaking the truth, but this is literally how it is. My word holds no weight because staff hate me and have a bias against me, but I'm not the only one who feels like this. Quit treating your job like you get paid for each ban and start treating your job with it being the ability to make sure everyone has fun. I don't know what happened, but the old Aurora wasn't this bad when it came to staff being super strict. You literally can't breath or take a step the wrong way without getting bamboozled to hell.
