Chief Medical Officer (24/37)

  1. We actually have not been for 7 years. Before the Aurora II aka the current map we were on the Exodus and the server was still called AuroraStation
  2. My only current critique is if machinists are tied to operations and not science. Will Directors have access to the Machinists labs and will machinists have access to both radios to coordinate with directors and science about research levels?
  3. My only critique and I think the critique others have in for a skill system is powergamers, because some stuff down the line could pose an issue if they assist or CQC or Aiming, or just antags who normally don't have the skills they need doing things they aren't can't mechanically do and being forced to do the same set of stuff because they can't hack doors for example. Just something to keep in mind for the future on maybe adding an antag exception so they can do whatever and not get bogged down.
  4. -1 removing ghosts from looc or any reason what so ever. There has been many of times when I am too tired to play a full round but I have witnessed science/robotics have issues that the character should know or they ask a question and I am around to respond. This has even brought to one person saying they are glad ghosts have looc on this server for reasons like these. If ghosts are removed from looc then a lot more ahelps will happen over mechanic stuff when looc can assist just as well.
  5. For one, I do not think they are giving their opinion on what should happen, I think they are trying to tell what happened from the perspective of other command members in this round and even accepting the blame of some of the issues mccrrib brought up in the initial coplaint, unlike abo who only restated the previously stated information that was said by mccrrib and then decided to bring evidence of an old issue I had years ago. The reason I can safely deny that it is old is that I have multiple other characters who are different then I initially stated. Using old things in a complaint that has no part of this current complaint should not be used and if abo has an issue with me. To make a separate complaing and not try to tack on to a ongoing one. Tl;dr not voting, actual points of view. And using years old issues I had with myself and players to try to push a complaint you have no part in being part of. (Typed on phone so apologies for any issues)
  6. In counter to Vinnie. Yes I did say to continue operations as normal multiple times over science radio. Multiple times. Chat was so chaotic with the amount of people and when science was grouped up at the actual place with no radio, i said again to the grouped science team. You were not there. To counter abo. When i asked for the team, i checked through the records for ANYTHING of anyone having geological expierence. There was nothing. So he picked the most experienced characters he knew, the two current directors. I couldn't get the miners cause i was trying to get so much otherwise planned and ready. And to counter your other arguments. If you are going to continue to pull issues that you have had with me for years. If I have learned one thing from playing this server for about 5 years. Its the fact that isolating characters is vital. Granted some characters share a few morals of mine, like my diona warden is a historian who just talks about history. Or my resident will not hesitate to slap someone to knock then out of it. And abo. During that whitelist time was a mess of a life for me. When I look back at it I realize the stupidity of that situation and apologize for that mess I caused. If you want more proof on how people change, look at me and schev. We used to hate each other but now we talk normally. People change, things change. Please stop using stuff from my bad past In conclusion: I did actually communicate it multiple times and have changed my characters multiple times over the past years. And looking back at things that happened when I was in high school and still a mess isn't the best light. It was when I was garbage at playing characters and learning and playing multiple ttrpgs has taught me multiple things on how to isolate it.
  7. Okay this is going to be a response on my phone so I first apologize for any typos or grammer issues with this 1. My Director, Edgar Dawnguard has had multiple issues with Ian White ICly with them not following orders directed from me on not cleaning up an absolutely fifty lab and breaking station regulations. Such has giving force gloves and experimental tech to people without any proper paperwork, on top of others. 2. During the event I was told to take 4-5 scientistists and a few miners. Edgar decided to take two other On station Directors as I was asked for people who had geological experience. These two characters, as directors, would have more experience with it then anyone else in the station. Why would I bring a chemist on a phoron core sample mission? 3. Again. I was asked to bring a small team, and specifically told by CCIA to tell the rest to continue operations as usual. I did not forcefully force people out of the round and picked the most experienced or people who said they had phoron experience. 4. I will agree that my OOC salt for Ian is high, but I isolate IC and OOC whenver I play no matter who I play, and IC Edgar has have dozens of unprofessional and borderline IR worthy incidents from Ian 5. Multiple times I have also been informed of what Ian has done post rounds when I am not around, adding to Edgars ever growing distrust of Ian in all manners across the board I would like whoever was the CCIA agent during the event to please confirm that they never asked for the FULL team. Just a small team Edit 1. Trying to get everyone organized with a department of about a dozen people and also listening to ccia in my office and trying to also organize with command is no easy task. Research was by far one of the biggest departments that event and chat was all over the place so keeping up was a pain. So confusion between me and ccia happened a lot. But I had no intent to silence anyone from the event. Only want told to pick a small team and picked the most experienced people either A. In their records or B. What I have seen them do, the two directors (as said eariler) would be more experienced then anyone else due to two reasons that made me make the decision. 1. We had no xenoarchs and no one has experience in their records in that. 2. They would be experienced in a slight amount of xenoarch stuff, which is better then 90% of the department Edit 2. There is multiple other people who share the same frustration on Ian white Icly and OOCly. I will not name names to not bring them in unless asked but an example of this ICly is when I played my Warden we had to watch White after he tried to buy a firearm, walked all the way to the brig with it without a permit, then when we denied the permit he said it was for scientific use. A chemist should not be doing tests with firearms when other people who are weapon scientists are on the station at the same time. On top of this all the server manifest has Ian hate/despises Edgar while Icly Edgar has given Ian multiple chances and has been proved of Ians hostile attitude toward edgar multiple times
  8. @Garnascus Just noticed I was actually in this entire ordeal. So I will explain what I saw I will first mention that I really don't understand why the statement of "And Edgar Dawnguard too I guess?" when I was just following captains orders and continuing what they were needing to be done ICly So I was ghosting just hanging around, watching science as I usual do when I saw Vira (Schev) talk about an expedition, I kept watching and then decided to join and assist with it. After, I will say this, forgetting that RnD made weapons because ICly I was focused on the mech for the expedition and the hardsuits, I then took a quick scouting trip, discovered some pests and came back to report the situation as the rest of the team was reprepping. Here was our full Loadout 3 Hazard Hardsuits 1 Combat Mech 2 Expeditation Shotguns 1 KA (no clue what was on it) and misc mining gear (And RnD weapons that I forgot) after going through the to the site, we encountered the collosal spider, which almost destroyed the mech and forced us to retreat back to the ship and evac out before anyone was lost. While we were heading back home we had to cut off Tabors arm because a nurse bit her which causes mental trauma across the whole team. When I walked into the RnD lab to check the guns. "Dawnguard chewed out the scientists again for not creating weapons to his as-yet-unshared specifications, and then left without the firearms AGAIN" Edgar never chewed out anyone, he checked the weapons, and walked to his office defeated after what he saw on the shuttle, it was not an ideal round for him to witness and it was a chaos round after we returned. "the weapon had a TASER modulator, which he claimed would not be useful against spiders, which is either him being smug or metagaming" Counterpoint 1: Edgar Saw how the COMBAT MECH AND MULTIPLE LASERS could not destroy the beast, so he knew that a TASER MODULE would not work at all, that was not being smug or metagaming, that was simple expierence Counterpoint 2: Edgar did say to Vira "I am not going back to the rescue mission, it is not a good idea, and I will be in my office" I will agree with Schev on one thing though 1. Expeditions are not safe, but after talking to them OOCly after the case we talked about how a recon team is vital before you think on what you want to do with it. Yet this entire thing, if I remember correct, was not all sciences fault, I heard mining was lacking, communication was bad and it was just a mess all around. I will not mention characters as this complaint is not about them, but some helped and some did not. I basically joined to say "Hey. We are doing X Y and Z, right now, this order, no excuses, GO!" and what was done was done. I will apologize for the entire Expedition team as there was little teamwork from me due to my dreaded fear of the Colossal spider and how it has given my IRL nightmares after seeing it. Once I knew it was this one It was hard for me to focus, (I have also had 4 of my past 5 sites been the spiders, so my luck is horrible) I am going to say again, I have no idea what I am even in this complaint when ICly I was following orders, OOCly I knew this was a bit too much.
  9. Most of these I actually expected funny enough, so lets start from the beginning - Having grown up in Sol, how do they feel about other Dionae and non-humans? Once Arms noticed that that all Dionae are 'hostile' like what happened during the Rueltab Incident, their opinion of other Dionae improved. This made them start researching other species and interacting with them more - You mentioned that Arms "tried to not cheat unless the situation was absolutely dire" when studying, does this mean Arms cheated during their studies and testing? Why was this? Arms only cheated when they felt that the situation was so dire that there was no turning point, which only happened once due to some racial inequality in Sol. Arms was pressured by the Teller family to keep pressing forward and offered their assistance in the matter, which pushed their determination in the matter. - Why did Arms decide to move to Tau-Ceti? Tau-Ceti was always a goal of Arms for the more equal racial equality over the Sol Alliance. The reason why they took so long is they still wanted to support the friends they made on Sol. Once Konrad passed they didn't have any major reason to stay in Sol and started the journey of leaving. - Arms decided to become a FT, why was this? Why not a Librarian/Curator or something similar if they like history? They wanted to use their knowledge of weapons and history to help armed forces (Police, TCFL etc) not repeat historical mistakes in situations by giving strategies to use. Using this and their knowledge of weapons, they were told back on Sol that they would make an excellent FT with all the different weapons in circulation. - Has Arms interacted with the Choir Dionae? If not why and if so what did Arms think/do? Arms has interacted very minimally with the Choir, while not fully involved with the Choir unlike other Dionae, they have given what funds and supplies they good to help maintain the Eternal Temple, curious about far off Dionae clusters. - Is Arms religious? Why/Why not? Arms isn't the most religious dionae, but if they are every do pray in any means, they follow the christian practices of their Solarian friends from home. Just like them, it wasn't a daily occurrence in their life, just a small act in the play that is their life - How did they end up getting work with NT. Why choose NT? Working as an NT on Biesal, they caught the eye of NT the knowledge that they have at being able to determine what weapons were used in a situation. On the question on why Arms accepted the offer at NT, they thought the best way to travel the galaxy and explore new cultures safely was with NT, and interacting with crew on the stations always draws from the melting pot of culture that is Tau Ceti. - Would Arms be interested in the mysterious history of the Dionae or purely other species' history? Why? As said previously, once Arms first met xeno life other then human, they were intrigued by the history that they had, using this to catapult their way into exploring more cultures and other Diona clusters across the Spur, want to see how other cultures fought and the strategies they used. - How has Arm's experience of life within Biesel been? Are they a citizen? When Arms first arrived in 2459 it was a rough time as they had no one in Tau Ceti that they knew, quickly finding a place to stay with other fellow Dionae as they looked for work. During this span they volunteered for the Legion for a year and a half and gained citizenship that way while working as a CSI in Mendell, managing to get a stable place and making multiple friends in the legion, but deciding to no longer volunteer and be a supporting member with their tactics and knowledge then in the front lines and breaching and clearing rooms. Using this Arms has enjoyed their life in Biesel drastically over Sol due to the harsh discrimination no longer existing as much. If you need anything expanded just mention!
  10. BYOND Key: HunterRS Character Names: Edgar Dawnguard (RD), Jordan Hudson (Captain) Praetor (AI) Species you are applying to play: Dionae What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (Color of your character; Dionaea & IPCs exempt) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yup Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Dionae Culture and the Species itself is very fascinating to me as I love how each cluster evolved differently all across the galaxy and each one has different reactions from the other species. With all the different religions involved around them it is amazing how many option you can go around for Dionae Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Dionae have a very different way of role-playing then base humans. Firstly with them all over the place you aren't restricted by a few areas and can pretty much have a gestalt formed anywhere, which can lead to some interesting situations. RP wise with them being most of the time a pacifist it's always fun to roleplay and try to deescalate situations instead of evolving them to direct gunfire. I think that also having each Nymph being it's own being can have rise to different ways of doing things, such as talking to oneself or just stopping to check on a nymph mid conversation or action. There is a lot of options Dionae can go down to interact with others. Character Name: The Historic Significance of Ancient Arms Please provide a short backstory for this character (Approximately two paragraphs): The Historic Significance of Ancient Arms, commonly called Arms or Historic, is a Gestalt that formed in the Sol Alliance on Earth (near present day Alsace-Lorraine) around 2430. Having formed near and old war memorial, they quickly were taken under the wing of an avid weapons collector and war historian. After being informed of the Rueltab incident, they were 'hired' by their now friend, Konrad Teller. Konrad helped Arms by having them travel the world doing deliveries for other historians to make enough money to pay of the Rueltab incident debt. Using this, Arms continued to help and paid off the debt in around 2445, but decided to stay in Sol Space until the death of Konrad in 2459. Before Arms left Sol Space to move to Tau Ceti, they gathered up some remaining funds to attend school to obtain a criminal forensics degree, wanting to use their knowledge of history and weapons to assist in crime scenes. During their studies they tried to not cheat unless the situation was absolutely dire. During their studies they assisted the Teller family who they still held in good terms and always tried to find time to visit ancient battlefield or places of historical importance to learn more about it. After graduating in 2454 they kept working for historic museums and blacksmiths to acquire enough money to leave Sol Space and immigrate to Tau Ceti there they began work as a Forensic Technician before being hired by NT as a warden. What do you like about this character? Being a history nerd myself I really like Arms and their constant obsession of anything historical. However, they only know majority of human history, so anything Tajaran, Skrell or Unathi is really foreign to them which drives their motives to learn more about the past. I really hope that Arms will be able to teach people some historical things of the past, which is thier main goal, to inform people of history because their main motto is "If you don't know history you're doomed to repeat it" How would you rate your role-playing ability? Recently my currently characters have become a little stale with how they are so that is why I am currently branching out into more AIs and borgs to RP more as them. I hope Arms will be able to really be a new main that I play along with my others. I currently think my RP is about a 7/10 with my current characters due to their decrease in activity and interest in playing. Notes: If I don't respond, I probably forgot to check the forums, not something I check daily, so please message me at HunterRS#1506 on discord if I happen to be late on a reply
  11. It's more of the fact that this is actually a spawn, and that it actually spawned here.
  12. BYOND key: HunterRS Character names of all involved: Uriel Evans, Ryan McLean, Kuhserze Ioraks, Ka'Akaix'Yava C'thur Documentation of the event, Link to post/Screenshot in game. If multiple screenshots please compose an album: http://prntscr.com/kbehck Have you read the application rules??: Yes Have you made sure this incident didn't result in administrative action? Yes, complete RNG Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Why does this moment deserve a spot in the Hall Of Fame?: Level 7 Bio hazard announcement, engineering get emitters for a blob, hour rolls by and no one knows where it is, turns it out got stuck in the arrivals dock grass area. After Engineering went to look at it they just stated they don't need to deal with it, and Uriel Evans asked McLean about the "Art". Which is the quotes provided. I believe this deserves to be here because engineering was ready for a massive bio hazard and saw this little cute bio hazard get stopped by windows Are you certain we are all laughing together are not shaming someone?: We are shaming the bio hazard, he tried so hard to go somewhere but got stuck in a box. Final thoughts/anything you want to add?: Praise RNG
  13. From my experiences with burger, I gotta say they aren't great. He insults players who don't agree with him or just for no reason, and half the time he means it He doesn't take any criticism well and will fight for what he wants to change. He thinks he can change whatever he wants and will get mad when people tell him they aren't good ideas. For all these, I will -1 this.
  14. I will also like to point out you are saying the 10%, the loud annoying science team, when the silent majority, the actual good players, who actually give stuff, case an point a few of the scientists I have trained who give stuff to security/engineer/medical.
  15. Miners never hoard anomalies, I don't understand why you think this. Never while playing Marwani have I encountered a miner who hoarded an anomaly for themselves. It always goes to science. I'm honestly noticing a theme in this thread, and it's basically "miners are literally hitler." Regardless, I'm going to straight up say it. Mining is under no obligation to report anomalies or ruins to scientists. Scientists are spoiled brats as it is, mining provides them with materials while science provides them with absolutely fucking nothing 99% of the time. I've mained quartermaster for several months, and I think out of the like 80 rounds I played, miners only received a mining drill or a plasma cutter about twice while science would constantly cry over common about materials like a spoiled child whose mother told them they can't go to mcdonalds every day. Oh, is this more trash you are throwing at science? Because I have had with all the trash you throw at me and science. We can't read peoples mind on what they want, so if you what a plasma cutter, you have to ask, not just think we will give you one. I do my best to control the science department and make sure we don't force people, but when people like you are constantly giving us shit and insulting us OOC, we don't want to give you stuff.
