  1. I have a few issues with the event,

    • Arming basically all the crew was probably not a good idea. Most of the crew have probably never been in a combat situation, ever. Which from what I heard, resaulted in practically 4 deaths alone among other MANY heavy injuries from rushing an entrenched position. Just my 2 cense tho. I feel like we had a pretty active security team up and able, but it just seemed like we sent anyone who managed to grab a gun from the crew arm out there to die a horrible death.
    • The ship combat seemed fun, however it resaulted in basically everywhere being vented. Personally I believe that's just a consequence of the ships design. WIth 3 decks being open to the air with no doors to cover the holes in the floors. (Perhaps we could get special emergency shutters that instead of closing in a door, they close holes in the floors instead.)
    • The lag was also unfortunate. But I believe that to also be a consequence of shipwide atmospherics failure, and the fact that people kept opening emergency shutters when told not to.
  2. Security commonly, and most of the rounds, discuss crew records which is actually, breaking regulations, talking about such in public, and only on the Security channel, is that allowed to be discussed. Perhaps you can do it via PDA, however, PDAs are not the most... EASY things to use, especially if you need to tell everyone in security about a certain suspect/person who has some interesting records and needs to be watched, and or, you put out a warrant for a search...

Though, that is what I will say on the radio subject, and nothing will stop us from using a staionbounced to make our own security channel...

  3. +1. Although I haven't played IPC in a long time, I can vouch for the fact that Hepatcia would make a great IPC player, and I have had many interactions with her character Jane, and I must say that they are an enjoyable character, so I believe that Hepatcia could pull off an IPC whitelist, and an IPC perfectly, though I'm pretty sure my +1 doesn't matter here, because I garuntee Hep will get it anyway.

  4. Although the post is a bit empty, I do know the round Cael is talking about, and what SPCRs synth characters (Tetragon, AI and Borg) SPCR has shown, from my personal experience, over and over that they cannot play Synthetics correctly, and I am going to be brutally honest. They are fit more for a low roleplay server where their actions Although the post is a bit empty, I do know the round Cael is talking about, and what SPCRs synth characters (Tetragon, AI and Borg) SPCR has shown, from my personal experience, over and over that they cannot play Synthetics correctly, and I am going to be brutally honest. They are fit more for a low roleplay server where their actions are not really frowned upon.

I have witnessed Tertagon shock doors, bolt them, and completely valid hunt the antagonists before they have even done anything remotely warrenting shocked doors. As soon as an antag appears, they will bolt the antag in, and shocking the doors. And breaking their laws a multitude of times. SPCR has tried to argue their reasons for doing htese things, but any sensible AI knows, not to shock doors EVER. Unless malf, AND do not bolt doors unless you are asked by a crewmember, this is one of the reasons people hate A these days, is because of their ability to eaisly stop an antag in their tracks, we need to quell this behavour before it becomes a common thing?

  5. I personally thing it's too hard to die from firearms. I was happy with how it was before, but then we removed the getting shot in the head paralasyis? Which took the fun out of aiming for the head... I'd rather argue it's too hard. Or at least, the pain could be increased where to actually getting shot HURTS.

Yeah, I'd rather see our mechs look more like BIG ASS FUCKING TANKS than just...big machine people with a smaller person inside.

Mechs are equipment, and should look that way. Hell, I'd love having like just a key or something as ignition. Imagine how badass starting up your fucking mech would be,

sliding the key into the ignition while the machine whirrs to life, euphoria only experienced by mostly German crane operators

I'd like to golly and gawk all day, but honestly, if push comes to shove leave the crazy-ass swords to the antags.

...wait, what am I talking about?

WAAGH! PAINT IT YELLA! IT'Z DA BOOMIEST KOLOR! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

Honestly, if mechs got a startup system, and some sort of cool computer voice/ai thing like they do in Titanfall. I'd fucking kill for it.

I'm pretty fine with this, but the only thing that worries me is the fact that your HoS dislikes Skrell which irks me the wrong way because it feels like a small way to almost force them into the Warbling events, which I know you yourselve have been involved in as a conspirator w/ Jake and all. Before the events, Jargon was very quiet so humans mostly had a neutral outlook on them or a positive one based on what Fedcitizen Skrell said.

This is all just suspicion though- I really just don't want to see a HoS who would act unreasonable and stupidly deny tups basic things which I am sure won't happen over a little skeptic paranoia.

There's a good chance I won't be playing this character during the warble events. Mostly because I am focusing on Jake at the moment. Though I do understand your skepticism.

I hate to be this guy, but at the moment, I'm not too sure I like the idea of you playing in a command role. I'm not sure if it's just the character or if it's you, due to you mostly playing as Jarvis, but the behaviour of Jarvis I saw in one round kind of soured me on the idea- acting in a generally unprofessional, unebelievable way for a security officer to act. When he was then demoted for it, he immediately resorted to calling command members cunts over the radio, then just instantly cryo'd. Not the kind of behaviour I want to see from a potential command player.

    For now, I'm giving this a -1.

This was all IC, Jake gets eaisly annoyed when things don't go his way. Me and the player of the CE who was the cause of this happening, already talked this out over discord and there's nothing bad involved. It was just our chracters being characters. The reason I cryo'd however, was because A, it was extended, and B, I'm not a fan of playing a cadet.

The amount of times I made you slap yourself makes me feel pointed out here ^^

You improved a ton over your time and I enjoy your characters. You stay in them and act in a believable manner.

Haven't had to slap you OOCly recently, which is good. In my books more then ready for command, just be prepared to get bwoinked more, just comes with the whitelist :P

    +1

Aww thanks! That means a lot!

Character names:Jake Jarvis, John Normandy, Xiquilixqip Sherup'Gell

How long have you been playing on Aurora?:about a year now.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?:Well, I’ve been thinking of doing a Command Whitelist for ages now, I just never really thought about doing it up until now. I think it would be really cool to have a command character, and join the ranks of command. Sometimes I feel like I could do well in a command posistion, that's not security intensive like HoS, so I'm thinking of putting it to the test. I would never make Jake a HoS mostly because being a HoS is... stressful. I have felt like making a HoP in the past and it seems like I could do well with that.

Why did you come to Aurora?:Well, I recently left college, and I was bored, and the SSeth video reminded me of SS13, I’ve been playing the game since 2012 now, and I was reminded of it after I took a long break from it. I decided to do some HRP servers, and the thing that drew me to this server were Hardsuits funny enough. I remember the server being key for having Hardsuits, I stuck around because I enjoy playing with this community, the admins are pretty chill, I have made many friends here as well, the events are also fantastic.

Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes.

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I’ve got like… 29 notes, and I’ve had two warnings that expired months ago, the warnings were for minor things that I used to do back in the day, but I believe I have learned from my mistakes and become a much better roleplayer on this server.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:Roleplaying is about taking an idea, a character, or a story, into your hands, and making it your own. Having other people take part in the story to improve on the roleplay, and having fun overall, create that story by making a character and involve them in events, situations and just talking to people in general. Roleplay is taking a story, and making it your own.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:Heads of Staff are there to help drive a story, when an antag comes aboard, it is your job, if you are the only command member at the time, is to communicate with the crew, keep them in the loop so they feel involved in the antag’s story/gimmick. As the only command member sometimes, you just need to help everyone you can, people will rely on you.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:Whitelisted players serve has some form of mentor role I think, when someone is new to the server, they can look to you, who has a Command Whitelist, that they can ask you questions, and you can answer them. If I was to up-hold this, I would do my best to help everyone I can, if I see someone running around struggling I would ask if they need any help in LOOC. If they need more help, I will A-Help them and see if a moderator/admin can help them out a bit more than I could.

IC, I think as I said above, Command members are there to help drive a story in the round, and keep other players involved in the current round happenings.

Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career?: Diemi has been working in the Republic of Elyra all his life, from a young age he was all about making money, doing jobs for people while he was young, trading items for other items, valuables for valuables. As he grew older, he became a business man, a some-what successful business man working in the capital, making the credits and doing usual business man stuff, however it all took a change when the Lii'dra somewhat recently invaded. Killing his father who he looked up to a lot, which caused him to have an almost natural hatred for Vacura, even if they are not Lii'dra. He has a dislike for Skrell as well, thinking the Federation are full of them selves, being better than everyone else. Hearing about the recent... "attack" on the Federation archives almost brings a smile to his face. War is great for business afterall...

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?:I will make a Head of Personnel, I plan to make other afterwards, such as my Skrell Scientist Xiq, into a Research Director one day, after he has become more known and been on the station long enough.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking:I will be making a Head of Personnel, (or a captain.) Depends on how I decide to make them once I finish them up, Jake will never be Command, Normandy will never be an RD, my Skrell will be an RD ONE day. As it stands for now however, I will make a HoP or a Captain, (going for the big one here ooo boy.) Because form personal experience I do not see them a lot.

The HoPs name will be Diemi Mayaki (Pronounced, Di-Emi May-Aki), a human male standing at around 6ft, the ethnicity of "Wasat" from Perispolis in the Republic of Elyra.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Perhaps a 6 or 7, I like to think I have improved over my time playing. Some people have noted that I have improved as well.

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?: Yes, as with any other whitelist, it can be stripped at a moments notice. Though these are more strictly combed.

Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?: Yes.

Extra notes:Hi mom, hi dad. You know who you are.

I understand why you want this but bringing something that seems so precious to work sounds pretty unbelievable to me.

I understand your point, however as I said, it's almost like a family member giving a stuffed animal to their son/daughter before they die, which suddenly increases the sentimental value a lot. Though I have said the reasons why above.

  12. Byond key: Dark1Star

    Discord key: CookieJarvis#8182

    Character Name: Jake Jarvis

Item name: Decorated Wooden Case + A Medal of Valor

Item function(s): To act as a storage case for a medal.

Item description: a wooden case, with a silver plaque with gold engraved text on top, which reads; "In memory of Oscar Easter, bless his soul and may he rest in piece." the front also contains engraved text, "Oscar Easter, 2434 - 2461"

Item appearance: a wooden case with a silver plaque with golden engraved text on the top, with silver engraved text on the front.

Why is your character bringing this item to work? How did your character obtain this item (1 paragraph or more please): In memory of Oscar Easter and everything he has done for the ISD, the last talk Oscar and Jake had was Oscar giving Jake support in helping escaping a Commando should they actually try to go for them. Oscar wasn't alive to retrieve this medal, so it was given to Jake by the captain to hold on to for Oscar. Jake wants it in a nice case that he can keep on him or place somewhere in view for everyone else to see.

What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell? (2 paragraphs here please): Jake would like to bring a piece of Oscar with him to work as he still works in the ISD, Jake believes Oscars death was un-called for however this medal holds a lot of sentimental value for Jake. Technically being the last thing Jake has of Oscar, the medal was meant to be for Oscar however he was dead and was unable to retrieve it. So Jake asked the captain if he could keep it in memory.  Like how some people bring their stuffed animal to work, perhaps it was given from a dying family member shortly before they passed away, this is the same kind of thing however with a medal.

How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP?: This item Jake can show to other ISD members, and other crew on station, the medal will show that no matter what happened to an Officer, they will still be around the station as a memory, Oscars name will never be forgotten, and when Jake is asked why he carries around a medal, he can tell them the story of Oscar Easter and how he was a valued member of the Internal Security Department.

Additional Comments: Literally my first time spriting my own thing, however I am not sure if anything else is needed to be done? I do not know how to code so I shall have to leave that up to you. Basically there is a medal of valor in the case, I did not sprite that because we already have one in game. :)
