[Resolved] Player Complaint - Lin Dyslioth, MissNatcula
Dark1Star replied to MattAtlas's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I'm not implying that this post is a meta-grudge in general. It just appears these days that most people want to grasp at straws and to try and get her bwoinked, and I don't even know what a metaclique is either, google doesn't come up with anything so idk. Either way, there might be issues, there might not be, everyone has them, in the end it's a game. -
[Resolved] Player Complaint - Lin Dyslioth, MissNatcula
Dark1Star replied to MattAtlas's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
To be fair, I can't blame her for b eing overly defensive. How would you like it if people got annoyed every round because you're a HoS and shut down their gimmick because they didn't play it right, find a way around sec, or just even go guns crazy. I've started to notice that people have been trying to find /every/ IC string that they can pull, for a good enough reseaon to get her bwoinked and perhaps even warned. It's not on the character its self either. This is OOCly a grudge against Nat her self. I bet you one-hundred-percent, that if Nat did away with Lin and made a new HoS, people wouldn't complain as much. But that's besides the point, people shouldn't have to make new characters to avoid people flaming on the player themselves. -
Spider's Command Whitelist Application
Dark1Star replied to Spider's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I know I +1d before, but he's not a good head of security. From what I've seen, he plays to win, and always has. But from what I've seen now, just a solid -1. I don't think he should play as HoS, but as other command members, sure. -

Spider's Command Whitelist Application
Dark1Star replied to Spider's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1 All my intereactions with Armstrong are always top notch, in fact, the main characters I play, like armstrong as a character, always fun to be around. Spider's RP is also top notch, never goes overboard, always acts like they should, glad to see them trying to one up their game and going for command. -
+1 Thea is a great character, and trying is a great roleplayer (not like I need to say that but...) having a nice tea time with Thea would be pretty cool RP wise. You can talk about many things during tea. I know cause I'm british.

Again, it wasn't our goal to use the weapons or armor. It's just that a major F-Up when we were trying to get rid of beepsky so he didn't attack us, a wepaon went off accidently, then security fired at us, so we in-return, fired back. It wasn't our goal to have it end up in a huge shoot out.

Ban request - ComradeCorbyn, KingofPing, Dark1Star
Dark1Star replied to AmoryBlaine's topic in Ban Requests Archive
I do agree, the reason I left out the fact that we also had a gimmick where we get paid 30000 credits to bust a guy out of the stations brig, it never happened, we never got radio contact, even though in AOOC he said he was working on it, we waited another 10 minutes and nothing happened, that's when we said, alright then, let's take some cash out the vault, steal some prototype equipment, and leave. But we didn't get to do that because of the unfortunate circumstances that occured. -
Thought I'll share some light on this, we were all standing around waiting for the go-ahead to go down and help fight the Ninja (I was Vol. Fazer), but the ninja died after about 15 minutes of us waiting. So we were standing around going "Now what? Just ghost?" I came up with an idea in AOOC saying we should be antags, role play it as this is the 8th time this week that we've been called and were not needed in the end, we were running low on money and resources, I asked everyone if they would be okay with that, going to the station and getting resources. Everyone in TCFL agreed and even some traitors agreed. I A-Help and ask if this would be okay, shortly after Yonni gave us the green-light. We go down to the station, our goal was to come in peacefully, and then escalate to get what we wanted, which was some stuff that was worth money to re-claim our losses. We land, we go inside the airlock and we're stuck inside command. At this point we ask over radio for them to let us in, they said we were not needed anymore and one of us was already inside, (he was not apart of us, so I assume he was a traitor) the captain asks us to disarm our selves and only one of use be let in, at this point my comrades were getting a little ticked off at our time wasted, the AI proceeded to suddenly bolt all the doors around us, trapping us even more and making us at un-ease. The captain still refuses to let us in, and then security start coming with laser rifles, armor and all that jazz. At that point, our prefect used C4 on the wall to force his way in, then the AI closes the blast-doors trapping him between rooms, he then uses the last of his C4 on the blast-door to escape, security at this point are ready, guns also at the ready. We make our way through maintence, to the outside of command, where we find most of security and command, our prefect instantly hold Thea at gunpoint as we all walk out of the maint tunnel. At this point it's a stand off, securiy has their guns pointed at us, and our guns pointed at them, I am not /one-hundred-percent/ sure on who fired first, though I do believe security did something and then we all started firing, in the end we all stopped fighting and we were all taken to medical. Then I assume the traitors started attacking everyone also. That sums it up, our original goal wasn't to start fighting, but un-fortunate circumstances caused us to show some hosilities before we even got out of command.

I understand what you said, but with that being said, I believe over the month I've been here I have definitely learned how to roleplay and "Interact" with the people around me, I believe the reason why I lost my IPC whitelist last year was because I didn't roleplay as an IPC good enough, I acted more human than a posibrain inside of a frame. Not just that but the countless times I was told and told again about breaking certain rules, which was also another reason why I lost my IPC whitelist, was because of the rules I broke, I have definitely learned from my mistakes and I don't intend to break the rules either. I have definitely been trying to learn roleplay off other people too, especilly the ones that have been here a while and know what they are doing. I make sure that my actions seem believable, realistic and I make sure that I fear RP and sometimes pain RP realisticly as well. Ovbiously, it's up to you weather my application gets accepted or not. But I feel like I have improved my roleplay much more that it was when I started playing again here last month. I have taken peoples comments, suggestions and feedback, in to consideration, I believe the characters I have created and started out within this month have become fleshed out, well known and honestly well liked.

BYOND Key: Dark1Star Character Names: John Normandy, Jake Jarvis, Reiner Rivette Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wish to play an IPC because of how different they act and how they respond to certain situations. They are cold and calculating, their mannerisms and their speech patterns are interesting compared to other races. They offer unique gameplay experiences and add to different role-play scenarios, where a human might not fit the job, an IPC might be able to save the day. My character John Normandy has defended many IPCs and also works with them quite a bit. One time a debate was set up between John and a Xeno-biologist skrell as to the benefits of synthetics and disadvantages, but sadly was shortly interrupted by intruders. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Some IPCs may act human, but they will never be able to emulate a human perfectly. They are too robotic to fully emulate a human, relying on programmed speech patterns and emotions, an IPC will not act to the loss of someone close the same way a human can, they will not cry, they can mourn, but to an extent, they can miss the person in question and will feel... "bad" about them not being around anymore. Some IPCs do have more emotions however, a G2 frame will act completely different to a shell frame in terms of the emotions it can emulate, and even show. Character Name: A.M.I (Automated Medical Interface) or "Amy" Please provide a short backstory for this character Created in 2455, A.M.I is an IPC using a Bishop frame created for medical services in the upper, richer parts of Harmony City on Luna. Designed for friendly interaction during medical practices and procedures A.M.I is a warm and welcoming IPC who treats everyone with respect no matter who they are and makes sure to try and treat everyone as equal as possible. A.M.I tries to be friendly and approachable to everyone it meets and makes sure that the patients leave with a smile on their faces and a farewell from its self. During trial-tests and simulations, A.M.I, showed a strong desire to learn something new in the medical field, and tries its best to take what it learnt and put it to actual use, although the test results show that it was slow at picking up on new and advanced procedures, it made sure to at least pay attention fully. It also showed a high interest in being friendly to the patients, although it had a few issues when dealing with the patients. Even if the patient walks in to the medical lobby missing a leg and bleeding all over the floor, A.M.I has the issue of asking neutral questions, such as: "Hello, I am Amy, what can I help you with today?" or "Hello, I am Amy, what seems to be the issue?" It has been noted a few times before that it has issues being blunt, during trial testing A.M.I would out-right tell the patient, "I'm sorry Mr. Jones, you are currently dying and there is nothing right now I can do about it. Would you like to seek counselling? A Psychiatrist perhaps? I am sure I will be able to arrange something in time before your demise." The medical doctors overseeing the simulation did not think this problem shadowed their benefits. What do you like about this character? What I love about this character is how helpful A.M.I will try to be, but with the issue of being blunt and asking neutral questions, could cause un-wanted hostilties against it. Pouring petrol on to the fire so to speak. I love how it is blunt, and holds nothing back and will tell the truth to the patient no matter how serious. I also love their personality and I can imagine right now how they would talk and act and I hopefully will be able to play this character in the near future. I also like the fact that this character will be my entrance in to the medical department. Not only will I be role-playing as a new race, I will also be learning medical procedures. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 6/10. I feel I have improved slightly over the month since I've been back, learning from new and old mistakes, and making sure to not do mess up again, and making sure the game stays fun for everyone. *cough* not building four combat RIGs for security and mechs. There are other people out there with a better role-playing ability than I have, and I do my best to learn from them. Notes: second time's the charm right? I feel much better with this application than I did with my last one, and making sure to get help from people on discord. Big thanks to Microsoft Word and DeadLantern on discord.

[Accepted] MissNatcula's Command Application

I think she was just trying to point out to people why it shouldn't matter if some characters have a few issues... I think at least. -
[Accepted] MissNatcula's Command Application
Dark1Star replied to MissNatcula's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I'm not Natcula ovbiously, but you did leave out some context. EG: Georgene Harris says, "This man says he was threatened with a shotgun." Lin Dyslioth asks, "By who?" Drew Ashby folds his arms tightly to his chest, "Don't know his fucking name." Lin Dyslioth says, "Then can't help you." Drew Ashby asks, "What?" Ok, so you have that right there. What happened afterwards? Did she follow up? What was the context before hand? Were you aware if anything else was happening behind the scenes that you didn't know? Lin couldn't help you, because she didn't have a name. After, did you tell her what they looked like? What was there job? You can't make a warrent unless you know there name. Perhaps if you add a little more context it'll mean a lot more. -
[Accepted] MissNatcula's Command Application
Dark1Star replied to MissNatcula's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1 Playing with Natcula's character Lin is a blast, sometimes I spend more time in the brig as an officer role-playing with Lin than I do outside patroling, Lin is a very approachable character and is always a great character, doesn't jump on the valid-bandwagon until we know for sure that we need the weaponry, and will always try to roleplay it correctly and TALK to the antags first, before saying "Ok, they're armed, and they already shot at us. killemall" A lot of HoSs I've seen will automaticly see say, red suits and just go "red alert, grab lethals, we're going in hard" Having Lin as a HoS would be a huge and nice change of pace. +1, I think natcula would be perfect for a command whitelist. -
Actually looks kinda nice +1. Let's hope it gets accepted.
-
I know, but now that I see it I'm not so sure about it now.
-
Looks much better, Hmm Not entirely sure about the visor though
-
Perhaps make the blue more in-line with the security voidsuit that's foudn in EVA? That blue seems a tad too bright. If you look at the Sec Void suit you can see how the colors should be some what
-
Well I wouldn't say "delete" just remove the capability for Robotics to build them, or just make them even more expensive. Also perhaps you could change the visor to be a blue like the voidsuit? But that looks really cool EDIT: It also needs to be blue not red. Cause security.
-
+1 I like this idea, would be pretty amazing and sad to see your friend blow up, and start crying and then you blow up.
-
I suppose we could balance it, the bonuses of the RIG would be that it's protected against radiation and whatever else, has slightly more armor than a armor vest and stronger than the sec void suit, if you equipped a taser to it, you would never have to worry about running out of energy quickly as it would recharge from its internal power-cell. Thing is, it's for EVA, so you can install a jet-pack, leg actuators, and all that jazz that you normally can't have while wearing a backpack.
-
People will complain if we pump out 1 or 4. It doesn't matter, the bonus of it is that you can mount shit to it. Of course it can be changed up in the process, this is just to remove Combat RIGs and Hazzard RIGs and use this as a replacement.
-
(Bit of a fore-word, this is something we can use to replace the Hazzard and Combat RIGs from the fabricators in Robotics, so we don't pump out military grade RIGs every 5 minutes) Name: H.E.V.A (Hazzard Extra-Vehicular Actvitiy Hardsuit) Date of Invention: 2418 In Short: H.E.V.A (Hazzard Extra-Vehicular Actvitiy Hardsuit) It's a light security RIG, armor the same as a security officers armor vest, if not a tiny bit more it's also better protected than the security voidsuit, it's an up-armored EVA RIG with the ability to mount security equipment. It's a black, possibly grey EVA RIG with red shoulder pads and knee pads with what looks like a built in armored chest. Description: The H.E.V.A is designed to be an more protected version of the standard E.V.A. rig that is usually used for repairs and maintenence in areas with no air or are in a vaccum It it usually used by light security forces aboard starships and stations, it is better protected than an EVA RIG with an armor insert, but other than that it's still a bog-standard E.V.A rig capable of mounting light security tools, such as tasers or heads up displays. It is much cheaper than the H.N.I.S but at the cost of protection and the ability to mount lethal weaponry such as laser rifles.
