Make Bounties More Reasonable

Recommended Posts

The bounty system's cool and all, and gives CTs something to do, but some of the things they usually need to get to fill them are ridiculous. Namely certain drugs from chemistry, and the drinks from the bar that require uranium/radium (these shouldn't even exist). If I remember correctly, you can also get a meal from the kitchen that's currently impossible to make.

My suggestion is to update the pool of things that are requested to be more reasonable, so you don't have CTs walking into medical asking for 30u of space drugs swearing that it's for a bounty.

Yeuup. Getting on this too with certain requests for very difficult stuff to get being so meek.

I.E 6 floorbots from robotics. Something that to produce requires someone to hunt the entire station for blue toolboxes, because floorbots can only be made with blue toolboxes. Something that needs all this work only gets like... 2000 credits for cargo.

On oppose to guns from science which don't even need to be functional, take a few minutes of a competent person's time and earn up to 10,000 credits for one.

All in all, looking into required effort verses reward for everything would be good.

As a bartender player, I'm against removing the uranium/radium drinks because other than when someone says "Surprise me" and I managed to convince a miner to give me uranium or chemistry to give me radium.

I'm not against them being removed, if the recipe changed to not like, require radioactive elements to be made, I'd be fine with keeping them. It's the same problem as the bounty system. Who in their right mind would give the bartender radioactive elements to put in their drink? They've banned the usage of radium in products since 1936, because it's a known carcinogen, and you know, really radioactive.

all of this effort for something that only works half of the time, too, as the shuttle typically refuses to send with a mob on it unless you're lucky, use some weird voodoo, and pray a lot.

i would love to have some different bounty items for cargo. i think this is a great idea, the bounty system really just needs an update imo. another annoying one that i used to see a lot (though not as often lately- maybe it was removed?) was the spare ID from the captain and the reward was only something like... 1500 credits. while a burger with like 5 ingredients from the kitchen would net you 12000 credits. the scaling just doesn't make sense sometimes.

i don't really have any ideas as to what to add to cargo bounties atm as i'm running on no sleep- i'll probably return later with some more thoughts, but i'm glad that people are at least talking about this.
