Replace Stunbatons With Telebatons

I will code this.

Now that large text hour is done, let's get into the meat of it.
Security has a lot of various equipment, each of them with a counter, essentially.
Pepperspray is rather powerful, but can be stopped by airtight lenses and gas masks and such.
Flashes are disorienting and at least somewhat help, but can be stopped by tinted lenses.
Tasers are long-ranged tools stopped by having a high siemens coefficient.
Rubber bullets are much similar to tasers.

However, in this case, there's one ring to rule them all. The stunbaton. A catch-all device that can penetrate essentially anything you do to stop it; there's hardly armor effective against a harmbaton. Best of all, it doesn't have any real downsides in use. Doesn't do any lasting, meaningful damage. You can torture (paincrit) someone all day and get away with it.

Here's a suggestion.
Replace it with the telebaton. The telebaton is a similar melee option to the stunbaton, functioning as a catch-all, but it would still be blocked by having armor. Best of all, it would have a downside in the form of, wow, actually hurting people, and hopefully this would get people to care about excessive force rather than torturing the shit out of people with no repercussions.

I support this as the stun baton is a blatant half life reference and I refuse to tolerate its continued existence

Bruh. I'm hoping this is just a meme.

The stunbaton has already been nerfed greatly and takes twice as many hits to bring anyone down, it's supposed to be a non lethal alternative.

Harmbatoning is not a real issue and if becomes common practice it'll be sorted by mods like ourselves : p 

The only thing replacing it with telebatons does is give sec less chances to do anything but engage in brute combat as apposed to just stunning. It will not change how people react to being hit other than likely making them become even more aggressive as you're physically damaging them, not just stunning them.

Strong, strong disagree. Telebatons break bones and cause nasty trauma, and god forbid most sec officers would use them well.

 

There's plenty of ways to deal with someone with a stubbaton, seeing as armor does block a decent amount of the pain and it takes a good few hits to knock someone down.

I was initially going to support this, but I've remembered that telebatons can very easily be used as weapons- allowing Shitsec to use them better than stunbatons. If you harmbaton, you don't do any pain to them, but instead pure brute- with telebatons, you do BOTH, which is BAD as it only gives shitsec an extra weapon in their arsenal of utter tomfoolery....so, no.

Disagree. Stun batons are a good alternative to force. A few taps to the chest against your non-compliant aggressor and it's cuffs and to the brig. Telebatons can break bones. They're more excessive. Pepperspray is less than lethal but can cause lasting problems and is typically frowned upon by most of the ISD. I would like to see stun batons stay.

I already don't trust our Security players to responsibly handle the tickle sticks that they have now. If you give them anything more lethal they can and absolutely will abuse it.
