Fire and Glory's cool suggestions for cool dudes

Recommended Posts

Alberyk keeps adding new guns but they're seriously boring, noone wants 20 real life guns and 4 laser variants, so I propose some new guns for those of us who want the good stuff.

The first gun would be an alien. It's not an alien gun it's just an alien, pretty small and beetle like, if you hold it and squeeze it while pointing it at something you don't like then it'll spit nasty projectiles. But the twist is that you can only get more shots out of it by feeding it, mice, corgis, John's sandwich, it's all game.

Bonus points for:

  • Making its projectiles have different properties depending on what it eats, eating spiders gives it a poisonous edge, bluespace bears causes the projectiles to teleport into whatever mob is in an area of effect near the click, eating combat drones causes it to spit lasers, and so on.
  • Causing it to leech onto the user's arm and be impossible to drop without surgery, maybe sucking up blood if you've not been feeding it or such.
  • Giving it a hefty melee attack with its own effects, if it eats a nurse spider then the melee will infect the target with eggs, good fun.

It'd probably appear on the asteroid or maybe just literally anywhere, usually maintenance and in crates (any crate).

The next gun will be brought to you by Nanotrasen.

It's a combination of an EFTpos scanner and a lawgiver, by default it shoots rubbers, but with just a small donation of 200 credits to your employer, it can shoot real bullets, or if that's not your style, you could give it a toggle laser function! Or tasers, or explosive rounds, all at reasonable prices of course. You also need to pay to make it reload.

If you run out of money, not to worry! You can always get your friends to chip in. And even if your friends can't afford the best features, you can all add currency to its storage until your combined wealth can afford whatever you need. It takes cash and card.

Standard commercial versions can be ordered from cargo (you will need to pay a reasonable sum to make it possible to fire, of course.), the premium version that comes with bargain prices can be found in the vault.

Bonus points if you can buy cosmetic changes for it.

Oh right this is also really important.

The alien spitter's damage is modified by the class of what it eats, plants/nutriment isn't worth much at all, prepared food/protein is moderately decent, and dead creatures gets the best results.

Feeding it alcohol will make it shoot faster at the cost of making it occasionally misfire and be more inaccurate.

We also need critters for the big asteroid of course, so how about swarms of tiny little things (maybe not swarms and just scattered individuals), about as big as mice, they lurk around inside the asteroid, they also get spooked by light. Should a hapless miner or dude be walking around the asteroid interior without being surrounded by light (say, from a lantern) they'll climb up the miner and cling, sucking his oxygen/stamina/life force/movement speed/precious bodily fluids, and will need to be burned off the suit with a welder.

They'd look like little squares/triangles with legs and eyes probably

We also need cool prosthetic abilities tbh, balance be damned.

1: An ability that lets you shoot your arm forward on some extending rods, allowing you to grab things from 2 tiles away and do an extra 3 points of damage in your punch as well.

2: Rocket punches! Though you need to pick up your hand afterwards.

3: You can have remote cameras in your robot hand, so if you detach it and leave it somewhere, you can see through it whenever you want.

Audio costs extra.

4: Springy legs! They let you leap over to places (but not over objects or people, if you try, you'll crash and hurt yourself and others.)

5: Rocket feet! You can jump over objects and people in a leap, but you need welder-fuel or something for them and they tend to set fires, but you can also use them to fly in space! You will need to modify the space suit before wearing it though.

6:Lungs that let you hold your breath for 5 seconds without issue, amazing. Also you sprint better.

7:We need prosthetic tails that attach to your spine, clearly.

8:An item compartment in the arm, it can hold one small item.

9:Magnetic feet.

10:The ability to detach and throw any prosthetic limb you have, and then have it explode.

We also really really need an organic counterpart, achievable through genetics or changelings or some other spooky science.

1:The flesh on your arm completely detaches and your bone grows longer, giving you more reach, you don't bleed that much though and can stick it back in place just fine.

2:Yeah you can blow your hand off your wrist at high speeds, you do bleed if you do that though, but you can still put it back.

3:You literally have eyeballs in your palms that you can leave lying around and look through.

4:You can jump really hard.

5:If you're in a weightless environment then you can shoot out jets of blood to propel your body, naturally this does have some bloodloss issues and can't be used with a suit though.

6:You too have good lungs.

7:You can literally grow out a tail whenever you want, but you need to cut it off to get rid of it.

8:Yeah you have holes and flaps in your arms.

9:Suction cups on your feet too.

10:You can make your detached body parts explode with bone fragments shooting out.

We also need foot spikes, made of bone or metal to jut out whenever you need it, extra damage that cuts whenever you kick or stomp on someone.

We also need to introduce acid slimes. If it gets on you then forget genetic damage, you'll just take burn damage and get your flesh melted into a skeleton if you die from it.

Also they can melt walls and windows.

The core makes for a nice splash grenade though, do not advise using multiple cores in the same area lest you risk melting the floor however.

Making regular slimes melt your flesh instead is also acceptable.

The one thing we need, need, however, is gelatinous cubes, a random event causes one or two to spawn in maintenance, feeding on scrumptious janitors and mice.

They can open maintenance doors with the essence of the janitor ID's they've absorbed too.

Who wouldn't want one of these filling a maint tunnel?

Leaked picture of the DLC gun:

Will there be DLC expansion packs and a preorder bonus?

Of course. As well as its intrinsic features of getting more functions and capabilities as you pay into it using the EFTpos handle, if you activate the gun within 15 minutes of the round starting before you could conceivably need it, then it gets 100% armor and wall penetration for its bullets.

Y'know.

Aurora needs magnets.

You can apply them to Maint-drones, station-bounds, standard bots, and IPC's.

Using these, you can stick paper-notes onto them.

Only IPC's are capable of removing them by itself, naturally, it also has a 70% chance to fail at dropping the magnet, with it instead sticking to its hand.

You can also use them instead of duct tape to stick notes on literally anything because it's all made of metal.

Traitors can order really strong magnets on their uplink which apply gradual damage to the internal components of any robot you stick it to, along with breaking consoles, they'll also pull bullet shrapnel out of people.

Also, if you splash coffee on a synthetic then there should be a 30% chance of it breaking.

It needs to be possible to put out cigarettes and cigars by spraying someone in the mouth with a space cleaner or water.

The strong magnets should also be usable as handcuffs on IPCs by binding their hands.

Any synth that gets into the fitness area's pool should instantly explode.

Spraying a smoker with phoron should cause a small firebomb explosion.

Yes, very much yes.

Now, in my humblest opinion. Far Cry's implementation on self-administered first aid is top notch, and we should work on integrating these actions in the server.

  • If your arm, leg, hand or foot is broken, then you can yank on it very hard to fix it. This does not even cause any pain.

  • If you have bullet shrapnel in your arm or hand, then you can pull it out with your teeth without any negative effects, although this'll re-open the wound if it was treated. If you want to do the leg or foot then you need any kind of edged object.

  • Yanking out objects that are lodged in you will heal you.

Chada1 reminded me that right now it is not possible to color jumpsuits and other articles of clothing by putting the clothes and a crayon in a washing machine. I personally think this is a great and serious travesty, and I think that by not porting this from old Aurora code, we are infringing on a basic space man right and sacrificing fun for the sake of ''''''realism''''', and thus I propose the following.

  • Make it possible to color clothes by putting them in a washing machine with a crayon again.

  • Add the detective's coat and hat to this list of clothes.

  • Make it possible to draw outlines of bodies on the floor with crayons. I want to see two assistants running around drawing each other's outlines.

These changes would improve crayons by several multitudes.

It should take half a minute for an elevator to traverse each z-level honestly.

How can I have my awkward elevator small talk when it's so fast

It would F A C I L I T A T E --- R O L E P L A Y

Real talk though.

We need to cancel the new map and start work on the new new (new) map.

(unless we're counting exodus as a new map too in which case it is new new new new map)

Planet map set in frozen tundra, our furry tajaran players are currently oppressed from freedom of fashion choices due to how warm things are thus this would give them a better experience.

It'd also make Unathi cold resist more important and go to show just how hot IPCs run.

It'd be fun and games all round.

I still think we ought to have Poly.

We need some owls as well

Stick them on your shoulder and they'll also eat mice any mice they see

why wouldn't you want an owl

owls are great

Hologram conversations would be awesome too.

You activate a holopad and then it'll project everything in a certain radius onto another holopad, the holopad you're sending to will also project everything around it to the one you're using.

In order to prevent spying via holopad you would have to accept an incoming call from a holopad before everything starts happening.

It would be cool! You could have a normal in-person conversation without actually being there!

C'mon.

you know what you guys should do

Liberal Crime Squad themed rev round!

Revolutionaries come up with a slogan that they use randomly as they do activities.

(cool slogan not included)

Before a revolutionary starts his spiel to convert someone he needs to say the magic words.

of course if political persuasion fails you can always resort to seducing them

Basically everything you need to do a rev round.

'Ere's a quality suggestion, we need alien doggies.

They're like regular dogs except they're really smart, alien looking, and they have opposable thumbs.

They act as buddies to the crew, they can retrieve items of normal or smaller size, and defend people.

Like assistants but actually desirable.

To add onto their buddyness they come with a special harness that you can apply your ID to to give them access.

Rumors have it that certain entities have figured out how to attach weaponry to this harness and hook them up to the dog's brain, but this is surely a myth.

You can get 2 from cargo, or maybe from xenobio- nah fuck that we'll never see 'em, or maybe you could get some from merchants instead.

I might actually reword this and put it in suggestions some day.

Bonus points if they replace Vaurca.
