Expansion and colonization

In terms of galactic expansion and colonization, have there been any major exploratory pushes lately past Frontier Space, specifically in the areas controlled by NanoTrasen? It would be expected that they would keep looking for new mining opportunity, or new people to exploit make business deals with. With new worlds that can be owned by NanoTrasen's elite, they would be able to offer "important" titles to those they don't care for, such as the "Baron of LV-426" that conveniently get them out of the way while not causing any legal issues....

It is entirely possible that this could be currently happening, with nothing of importance, or at least nothing that we have security clearance to learn, being found. I was just wondering if it was a thing a curious character could learn about, without disappearing suddenly and permanently.
