Description:
A week has passed with the Horizon moored at the warp gate back home, with both the Horizon and accompanying Chromatic asset protection cruiser conducting final repairs and testing of the gate. The urgency has picked up however; a rumour circulating around the ship tells of the Chromatic having picked up gravitic signatures indicative of the pursuing Malebranche spooling up its warp drive.
With some fortune, the Horizon and Chromatic will be long gone before the Malebranche arrives... but the Horizon has been oh-so down on luck lately.

This is the climactic combat event all has been building towards, and will feature both overmap and 'conventional' combat. It will not solely be combat, but the combat is the main focus, thus the extreme rating and not high.
As such, departments in-focus will, of course, primarily be the 'usual' ones: Command (incl. Bridge Crew), Engineering, Medical, Security. Considerations have been made that will see other departments involved either as a militia/support roles, in a sprinkle of non-combat objectives, and those keeping not wanting to be involved in combat (so, the odd Service/Science/Operations characters) may be involved in the event via a roleplay B-story that may influence the greater event.
Horizon characters can be aware of the above blurb, which is known to the crew as an unconfirmed, circulating rumour. Command characters are invited to take it seriously nonetheless, up to training appropriate crew for ship combat.
Plenty of volunteer roles are available, with mid-round recruiting of observers to fill in gaps. DM me (Kermit) if interested.
