Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: TamedAchilles Character Name(s): Daniel Fredrickson, David Averies. AI Name(s): Architect Preferred means of contact: Skype, Discord. Age: 23 Timezone: GMT-8:00 When are you on Aurora?: Mid/Late US. Early/Mid EU depending on my work schedule. Experience How long have you played SS13?: Since Jun 5 2014. Little over 2 1/2 years. How long have you played on Aurora: Since April of 2016. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I know the practicality of almost every department. However, I'm currently and always actively researching areas in which I'm not particularly heavy in so I may apply them in-game. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: I have experience moderating for SS13 servers. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: N/A Personality Why do you play SS13?: Personally, SS13 offers an atmosphere that lacks/differs from other games. One person alone can literally make or break certain situations. And that's why I like playing SS13, it's inclusiveness rather as opposed to making certain positions more or less extremely dire. Why do you play on Aurora?: I play on Aurora as a means to roleplay my character out properly. Granted, I could easily just go to another server and do this, however the players and staff here all want one thing - And that's to better and further our Roleplay though out the actions that play out on Station, and even by Canon Implementations on the forums. What do moderators do?: Moderators on Aurora are the front line face of the Staff Team. To do this, you need to have a clear unbias conscious when conducting duties when ever they're on, and at times be the unfriendly guy in terms of enforcing the rules on people you know, and how to enforce them properly. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: I want to be a Moderator because personally, I see the Staff performing their duties on a day-by-day basis with a high respect towards the Community of which they server. They're not paid to do this, they volunteered. In many aspects it's inspirational to watch them. I want to be a Moderator because I want to contribute to the Community in a way that I know really well, and that's enforcing the rules in an unbias and mature fashion whilst showing my dry since of humor which may or may not make people laugh. Why do you want to be a moderator?: Moderators are the front-line face of any Staff Team. They deal with basic level issues when it comes to rule infractions as well as player-player conflicts. They are also the first contact anyone usually has with Community Staff, so in a sense they're Community Relations as they're actively trying to make the base player experience better for everyone. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: For starters, I have the Moderator-type mentality almost every day due to my real like work in Store Management. It means that I know how to judge people without bias, keep a calm demeanor, and enforce regulation and statutes correctly and efficiently. I also have a fun side to this business side, which can potentially be seen in events that I perform or the Roleplay of which I'm apart of. I also know how to greet, handle, or otherwise maintain and build community trust via getting to know them or otherwise build friendships. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Personally, I think I handle stress, anger, and insults pretty well. Most of it derives from my calm and mellow mentality and the approach I take during situations that deescalate them. Anything Else You Want to Add: I just want to thank all of you for reading this application. I've been playing with this Community for some time, and I appreciate the work done by not only Staff but also the Players too. I'd love to obtain an opportunity in terms of assisting or even aiding in a capacity like this. I know that with my current real life occupation, but also my Moderation and Administration I can fill a position as a Moderator extremely well.

BYOND key: TamedAchilles Character names: Daniel Fredrickson, Aiken Langley, Jameson Zalackie, How long have you been playing on Aurora?: 5 monthsish (give or take a week). Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I wish to be whitelisted because I enjoy roleplaying around Aurora as a Medical Surgeon. How ever, that's not where a lot of my experience comes from. I have a lot of experience roleplaying as the Head of Personnel, and have experience roleplaying the other Head roles. I believe that with these previous experiences, and my willingness/wanting to expand my horizon's further are the reason I should be whitelisted. Why did you come to Aurora?: I came to Aurora looking for a Heavy RP element that's lacking from a lot of other communities. After traveling around, I came on here and have stayed simply because it's an RP'ers paradise and the Staff go to great lengths to ensure that it's possible. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: I have, and still continue to brush myself up on BS12's wiki as to keep myself up to date. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay to me is a story acted out based around the lore element of which the story originates from. In this case, every round we're roleplaying a different element of Space Station 13 as a Crew Member, Unconciously altering the lore as we play our individual characters out with each other. In this case, it should be about not only the character development of each player's through the perspective of the other people they meet, but also the continuation of the story that's set out by people whom have written tidbits of the lore. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The OOC purpose of the Head of Staff practically is (depending on their role) to facilitate effective operations of their assigned departments, and to coordinate the players assigned to each one, Ultimately with the Captain being the largest facilitator on the Station. Through this cooperated facilitation, it's how the players form and adapt to the antagonist or even simply surviving on the Station. With out this facilitation, that's when you see a break down in the basis forms of stability which results to many of the issues we usually see (violence, disease, hunger, uprisings, ect) occurring like wildfire. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Personally, players who are whitelisted have shown a higher level of responsibility and maturity than a lot of other players. Through these means, they're trusted with running and facilitating departments or even the entirety of the station each round. It's within these two means that these players should also be responsible with upholding the rules to a certain degree while playing. Ways to uphold these would be instructing others on how to operate around the server (specifically new Aurorian's), refreshing the rules in their mind and apply it to their RP, and to treat others fairly and respectfully while around the Server. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Daniel Fredrickson Character age: 30 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Daniel Fredrickson is a 30 year old male who was born on Earth within the Sol System. Originally, his Family were agriculturalists whom took pride in their hydroponic farms on Luna, but that didn't appeal to Daniel. At the age of 18 after he graduated from High School, he would attend the Tau Ceti Institute for Applies Sciences, majoring in their Medical Programe. While Daniel was away from the Sol System, he would attempt to make means to communicate with his family when he could, but in retrospect was glad to be "out of the dirt" for say and studying something he was wanting to do for a long time. Three Years would pass and he would graduate from the Academy, but he wasn't satisfied with the knowledge he had obtained. A short time later, he would be accepted into the Institute for Universal Applied Medicine, studying Surgical Procedure and Practices. Another four years would pass, and Daniel would be the age of 25. It would be at this point where he was itching to explore the expanses of space. But this urge would be put on hold, as he received word that his Mother had fallen ill with a rare cancerous disease called "Disbuteris Alterisius", which started killing off her DNA-RNA strands at a micro-molecular level. After exhausting everything he had learned, his mother would pass away at the age of 75. His morale weakened, Daniel made a pledge that no one under his care would suffer or die carelessly while he was attending them. And so, he would submit an application to Nanotrasen and later be assigned to the NSS Imperion. 2 Years later and he would be transfered over to the NSC Vengence after showing talent as a Medical Physician. After spending time on the Vengence, he would retire from Nanotrasen and return home. It wouldn't be but another 3 years later at the age of 30 would he see postings about a new Station built and it needed individuals to fill a wide range of positions in order to have her fully operational. What do you like about this character?: Personally, I like this character because of his educational background. I also like this character due to the fact that despite losing family, he used that sad event to drastically alter his own, using it as a positive force of change for many people that he's interacted with. What do you dislike about this character?: Something I dislike about him is is that due to him losing Family, Daniel can be a bit remorseful when interacting with others. He can also be a bit crude, and brash in his attempts during his care. It's because of this, he can often get in trouble or even potentially hurt others if he's pushed far enough. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Personally, I think Daniel would make a great Head of Staff. He's got a perfect combination of Good Traits and Bad Traits. It shows in a characteristic-kind of way that he's human, and that he's willing to go to large lengths to save or even protect his patients. Traits that every Head of Staff should only have going into each and every shift. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Personally, on a scale rating up to 10 I would be at a 7. I've had enough time and experience to temper my style of Roleplay, how ever I'm still learning A LOT in terms of what my characters can do, and what others do while interacting with him. I'll never be at a 10, mainly because my roleplay or even my Character's Development won't ever be perfect. There will always be something that I want to improve upon or even change/alter. Extra notes: I just wanted to thank all of you for reading this. I know it might not seem like a lot, but I feel that I've taken a lot of thought into this Application. I feel that my creativity and general mindset while Roleplaying can add a new flavour to the pot in terms of when I'm playing, adding more suspense or even more maturity each shift. I ask that I be given a chance to perform, so that I can show everyone that I know what I'm doing. And that I can make a shift enjoyable for the players playing at the time.

Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: TamedAchilles Character Name(s): Daniel Fredrickson Aiken Langley Fredrick Stewart James Longston AI Name(s): Architect Preferred means of contact: BYOND, Skype, Discord. Age: 22 Timezone: GMT-8:00 When are you on Aurora?: Late PST, early/mid EU/AUS timezones due to work. Experience I've been an Administrator for 2 previous RP Communities (B:RP early/mid 2014, Forsaken Travels (late 2014/early 2015). How long have you played SS13?: I've been playing SS13 since November/December of 2013. How long have you played on Aurora: I've been playing on Aurora since 2015. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Being a regular player, I've had the awesome ability to work my way through a majority of the Bay-Station game mechanics. So I'm familiar with the basic mechanics, a majority of the jobs, as well as all the traitor roles and objectives. There's always room to learn though, and I find out about this every day (like Atmospherics. Never touched it until the other day. Didn't kill a single person). Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Aforementioned, I was with B:RP and Forsaken Travels. I was a regular as well as Lead Moderator for both during my times prior to Administration. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Initially before returning to B:RP after it's re-opening (prior to the name change to Forsaken Travels by Jamie and the new management), I was Perma-Banned when I found out that Purlek the then owner was using server donations to fund his gaming addictions outside of the community. I took the Perma-Ban willingly after I confronted him privately about the issue, knowing that what he was doing contradicted his position as Owner, and violated the trust of the players donating towards the community. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I play Space Station 13 mainly for the multiplayer sci-fi aspect. It's a good way to lose yourself for several hours at a time and not remember what you were doing prior to playing. Why do you play on Aurora?: In all accounts, Aurora is my third official RP Server that I've settled on in the past few years. What I look for in communities is a High Level RP aspect, stability and performance. I've stuck around with Aurora because it's proven to beat the test of time as other RP servers have come and gone, and has still stood up to the standards to which I judge any RP community of which I potentially I want to be apart of. What do moderators do?: Moderators are the front-line face of any Staff Team. They deal with basic level issues when it comes to rule infractions as well as player-player conflicts. They are also the first contact anyone usually has with Community Staff, so in a sense they're Community Relations as they're actively trying to make the base player experience better for everyone. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Moderators on Aurora are (like previously mentioned) the front line face of the Staff Team. To do this, you need to have a clear unbias conscious when conducting duties when ever they're on, and at times be the unfriendly guy in terms of enforcing the rules on people you know, and how to enforce them properly. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I want to be a Moderator because personally, I see the Staff performing their duties on a day-by-day basis with a high respect towards the Community of which they server. Most of it derives from my calm and mellow mentality and the approach I take during situations that deescalate them. Anything Else You Want to Add: Personally, I like how the community is going so far. I believe that I can be an awesome asset to the Team, and that all of you for reading this application. I look forward to potentially working with a lot of you in the future. If not, I promise /not/ to blow up Atmosia when I play an Atmospheric Tech for the second time ever.
