You're mistaken, sorry! I've had no affiliation with Baystation servers. Also, I do believe I can understand how things work here. The rules are simple and easy to understand, the mechanics of the game aren't much different from any other server or environment, and the only thing to do to connect better as a moderator is to meet players and acquaint myself with them, and have a trial period to build an understanding of how moderators and staff handle rule breaks, disgruntled players, player assistance, etc. As far as adapting to server-specific policy in regards to handling rule-breaks, I feel that that's one of the skills that would make me a good moderator. I feel like I could adapt quickly to the community-defined norm. As far as this application goes, I thank you for your consideration, and I'd be quite interested in being able to chat with one of you if you had any particular questions or concerns. I'd be open to giving that a shot, too, although I'd need a bit of warming up to it again. Plus, hey, could always do both!

When it comes to playing on the server as a player, there's really nothing to gain from extensive time on the server that I wouldn't already know from my time in SS13. However, I was under the impression that the purpose of the trial moderator position was to build an understanding of how staff decisions and situations are handled. (This was probably over three years ago.) Personality Why do you play SS13?: I got into SS13 because it was a fascinating type of game that has yet to be matched. The dynamics of the engine are stunning, and they are what make this game what it is. Why do you play on Aurora?: A seemingly quality RP server with a satisfactory population, and Baystation 12 code. What do moderators do?: They operate as a team, and sometimes alone to moderate the server, protecting the rule-abiding players' experiences from the rule-breakers and issuing punishments where deemed necessary. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Not straying too far from the above statement, a moderator of Aurora would be responsible for making sure that rounds run smoothly, player experiences are enhanced through means of assistance throughout the round when needed, and handling of rule-breakers. Why do you want to be a moderator?: Recently I have been wanting to get back into moderating/administrating a game community, because I've been missing the feeling of having a connection with players and staff members, and having the ability to make someone's time playing more enjoyable. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I have experience moderating game servers, communities, and forums, SS13 included I am a competent staff member, player, and English speaker I am functional in regards to being able to operate in multiple environments (web, forum, server, etc.) I am good with people, and am able to hear out what players have to say, speak clearly, and help rule-breakers understand their wrongdoings How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: When it comes to administrating, I have never had a problem taking punches from disgruntled players, and I do not let it impact my abilities as a staff member.
