  1. This is precisely what they told you. You are singling out a single player for ooc reasons that you cannot rightfully justify. This is metagruding. You want a player murdered. You don't want them converted, you don't want them sharded, you never specified anything else, you just outright asked they be murdered. This is the textbook version of meta-grudging another player because you wanted them removed from a round for your very blatant and clear dislike. My verdict stands, I'll only reply and review my decision if new information is brought to light. I'm also going to directly state this. The core principle of our rule boils down to not being a dick. The rule is simple, clear and direct. A person that is unable to understand generally does not speak English then, so it's understandable by everyone here in this thread. Your attitude as I outlined before needs improvement, towards the community as a whole, both the players and the staff. 1. It is NOT a clear and concise verdict. I have made this very clear Sharp, the entire current situation arising from the fact the concept of 'you can fight her, you just can't target her' not being as clear as you seem to think. 2. FOR. THE. LAST. TIME. It is not OOC. I can justify it very well and have done so multiple times now. My problem is not with the player. Let me say that again so you can get it through your skull. My problem is not with the player. That would be OOC. My characters have problems with the player's character. THAT IS IC. You know, since OOC means out-of-character and IC mean in-character. Now stay with me Sharp, this might be tricky but I need you to understand, but if my characters have problems with another character, when deciding to kill someone or choosing a course of action as an antag, they might choose someone they dislike or have a grudge against. Maybe instead of converting that bitch they hate to the light of their glorious god, they wish to deny his grace to her forever. Do you understand now? Or do I need to find some way to dumb it down further? At this point if you can't get it I'll have to assume you're just fucking with me. My attitude is completely and utterly fine. Besides petty worthless gestures like renaming cleanerbots I am acting in an a way that is IC. 3. Can some admin OTHER than Sharp or ShameOnTurtles please chime in? They seem intent on sticking to their guns, which are mostly either logically inconsistent or outright wrong and we'll never get anywhere if this keeps up. If someone does decide to show up, please bring some point of view/argument other than 'this thing that is utterly murky and arbitrary isn't murky and arbitrary' and 'you're doing this because you are being a salty cunt, not because your characters have a severe and understandable dislike of another character'. I mean, it's getting old and kinda sad. EDIT: Oh! I almost forgot. If someone decides to play a character who is rude, abrasive and an all-round pain to be around, they need to own it when said character makes enemies.
  2. Not once have I said if you took antagonist actions towards Katheryn Linerbord during that round, would you be banned. I said that you would be punished if you targeted them, which I feel I have explained what that means and how I would determine it. I feel it's also worth it to note that I am not the one handling this complaint, that would be down to another admin. Which one, I am not sure. I could not handle this appeal objectively, and am merely posting my side of the situation. Take another look at the logs up in the op. OOC: Gamerlord_357: let's talk hypothetically for a moment here OOC: Gamerlord_357: if an admin says he'll ban you, for doing one thing, but not another, when the only difference is inside your own mind and he cannot know, is that fair? OOC: ShameOnTurtles: do not bring this into OOC, dude OOC: Geeves: Lmfao. OOC: Gamerlord_357: i am seriously having trouble parsing this. OOC: Gamerlord_357: it does not make logical sense. I was clearly asking for help on how to deal with a Sword Of Damocles over my head whenever I make a decision as an antag. I didn't continue the argument at all. I asked a hypothetical question that I needed the answer to in order to play the round. You were refusing to work with me on that note and again, you have not sufficiently explained 'targeting'. I need a set of ironclad guidelines here, not 'if I don't like how your acting in regards to this person you're banned'. To be an antagonist requires the freedom to decide your choice of victims and the avenues of attack. I can't effectively or fairly play ANY antag role if I have to put kid gloves on and treat a player as sacrosanct. It is unfair to every player on the server. Both my allies who are being handicapped and the non-antag players who are both being unfairly targeted when I can't take an easier route through Linerbord and because they don't get a fair and fun game. Now, instead of arguing ridiculous and pathetic semantics work with me on this. I only named cleaning robots. That was the extent of my efforts to cleanse the salt in my heart, the first round after the last problem. It's called catharsis tbear13, sometimes it's needed. For the record, that is the complete and utter extent of my OOC actions. Everything else is completely and utterly IC and at this point I'm getting kinda disgusted at the fact that a roleplay server doesn't allow people to react to other character's IC attitudes. I mean, are you kidding me?
  3. What gimmick? We hadn't even decided upon a gimmick at that point! Actually I didn't. I asked a hypothetical in OOC, which could have easily stayed a hypothetical if you hadn't started telling me to stop. It was a legitimate question too, and not one that you've answered yet. There's no such thing as 'general cultist duties'. Also, if I need to kill a security officer and choose someone other than Katheryn Linerbord because I'll be banned if I choose her, isn't that more deserving of the title of 'targeting due to OOC reasons' than 'I needed a sacrifice and decided to kill the one who get's on my nerves all the fucking time'? Frankly ShameOnTurtles? You aren't thinking this through very well. Maybe get someone who isn't invested in the decision like you are to look it over, because at present you seem intent on trapping me into positions where I cannot be an antag without getting banned.
  4. Before you start Sharp, THERE IS NO INFORMATION THAT WOULD HELP A PLAYER IN HERE. Also, I have no way of knowing when the round will end or of telling if it has. BYOND Key: Gamerlord_357 Staff BYOND Key: ShameOnTurtles Game ID: Reason for complaint: Below. Evidence/logs/etc: Below. Additional remarks: God I hate the system you guys have set up. Many things are forgotten between shifts and shifts, like the name of that one guy who murdered everyone and danced in their entrails. Some things are known across all stations, and all shifts. 'Katheryn Linerbord is a bitch' is one of them. Therefore when a bloodthirsty cultist needs to find a sacrifice, who does she go for? That cute looking Tajara who might make a good recruit to the cult of Narsie? Or that utter thundercunt Katheryn? Now, say that the admin decides that this is metagrudging and OOC, (even though it is an IC decision due to the IC behaviour of another character), and threatens that if you target her you will be banned. You of course ask if that means if she is harmed at all you'll be banned and the admin says no, only if she is targeted. There is a problem here my friends, and if you are clever you might spot it. How exactly, does an admin know what you were thinking? All names apart from Katheryn's have been filed off to prevent round-complaint interference.
  5. You don't seem apologetic. You don't seem to understand this mistake. You came here and neglected to read the rules on this subforum. You missed this. You also missed this. Make a staff complaint. Wait, last time I had to argue for an unban I came here, has that changed?

  7. What you've described throughout this complaint is not ShitSec. It's just poor communication on the part of the Warden to tell you what your charges are and Linerbord to explain why you broke into Robotics. If Linerbord wants to be a bitch to you, they can, although I'm not sure how asking you to stop looting someone and to allow them out is 'being a bitch'. YOU believe it's right for YOU to take the 'BlueSpace' tech, that doesn't mean it is. That is evidence or private property depending on what the Security team and Command deem it to be. It is not for you to take simply because of an 'expertise' on the subject. And no, you don't get to go on comms and talk shit. "She started it!" Doesn't help you, because it makes a point of highlighting how childish this whole complaint is. This is the situation dumbed down. Man has strange shit. You want to police strange shit. Officer does not want you to police strange shit, because it is not your job to take shit from other people who are being detained or arrested. You don't comply. You get arrested by another Officer, and the Warden brigs you without telling you your charges. Whatever. I cannot waste any more of my time explaining the same basic concepts over and over.
  8. Yet all three are bullshit. I did not resist arrest, hooliganism I've already gone over and 'trespassing' was removing a pair of windows and a grate so that Katheryn could get into Robotics and subdue Tim. My point is saying that the actions of the three members of Security were incorrect both IC and OOC, that the Staff decided to handle an OOC problem (people being OOC by being shitcurity) as an IC problem which just so happens to put all the onus on me to make long ridiculous reports and frees them of having to actually do anything and that at no point did I do anything meriting an infraction and that what I was actually locked up for was publicly insulting a Security Officer. Also that when it comes to things of a scientific nature (bluespace, unknown/rare tech, etc) that officers of security should defer to the expertise of those who actually have training in that area, aka Research. That would be great and all, but she was a rude abrasive bitch first! In fact, she's a rude abrasive bitch in every round! If your coworker is a raging bitch and someone you have absolutely no desire to interact with then you obviously are not going to show them respect. I initially walked into my lab and abandoned her because she was being rude and demanding.
  9. Except that's not what happened. I wasn't saying 'I did nothing wrong' I was saying 'this officer is acting like a rude bitch and I'm not going to help her because of that'. Also, I did not shout. So saying in a workplace that this person from another department is being a rude bitch and I'm not going to help them while they're like that... isn't really that 'big'. Especially when I ceased the moment someone higher on the chain of command spoke up. Also do remember that Security are not police. Therefore they are NOT entitled to the same respect and deference a police officer would be IRL.
  10. 104 only comes into play if Tim asks me not to touch him. 107 is also inapplicable since 'the security officer is being a rude ignorant jackass' is true, significant and - on a personal level - important. 110? Bitch please. I never said a single word that wasn't true. Do remember that I said I checked every single entry. None of them apply. And as to the bluespace thing, someone capable of teleporting due to medical reasons is STILL something that the scientists should be informed about.
  11. Whatever, I just... This has taken anywhere from three to four hours of my time. I am drained as fuck right now. I'm afraid when it comes to rules and regulations the letter is what actually matters. Spirit don't mean shit in the legal or corporate world.
  12. IIRC he wasn't arrested. He was just a crazy roboticist who was being brought in to Medical for forced treatment. The Security Officer dragged him off to medical, allowing him to keep whatever bluespace device he used to escape instead of remanding said device to someone who was qualified to handle it. You don't give EVA equipment to someone not trained, you don't give firearms to someone not trained and you don't listen to said people's demands about the use and ownership of same. Why then would you allow a security officer to make decisions about a piece of tech that she has never used, been trained to use or been authorised to use? That is patently ridiculous. You need to take another look at the regulations clearly. Find and quote me where it is. If you can find it. The cut part is only done because there isn't enough room. Trying to fit everything required chopping off the initial part that was least informative. Your character does in fact act like a cunt. Just interacting with her is a chore. Whenever I have the chance I avoid her at all costs because she IS an utter bitch. And yes, I do think I'll get away with calling someone a bitch or cunt on the Common channel when it's an accurate description of your behaviour, since that's not slander, hooliganism or any other offense. Katheryn Linerbord is the most unpleasant character I've had the misfortune to encounter on Aurora, and you cannot expect people to cooperate with you if you act like a thug. This is for a staff complaint, not a character complaint. Make one on the staff that issued the verdict. Oh hell no. I am not making ANOTHER report. I am just not doing that. You do not have the right to take that much of my time away to do something completely and utterly redundant.
  13. BYOND Key: Gamerlord_357 Staff BYOND Key: Calion12, SirCatNip Game ID: bT1-bQpX Reason for complaint: Yes, they were completely useless. Apparently Security Players being OOC by not following the Corporate Regulations and being shitcurity is apparently an IC problem and their hands are tied - notwithstanding the times I've been told off by admins for IC reasons. Evidence/logs/etc: Both the lower spoilers Additional remarks:
  14. This is absolutely false. I have review the logs now and yes I have made several announcements. Several IN-GAME announcements about the local biesel thunderdome event being cancelled and the NSS Aurora offering up to hosting it, nothing about this is "meme", this is quite feasible. Furthermore I can point tell you that at the time EVERYONE treated it as a normal Extended round with a little spice. And while yes I did get into an argument with Munks, I have never called it a "Meme-round", I said it might be a "Half-assed event" as it was done with little preparations, however it turned out great thanks to the players basically taking the wheel and having a fun spin with it. To clarify on the permaban, we permaban EVERYONE who suicides during a round and logs out before we can contact them, this GUARANTEES that they have READ why they were banned and not doing it again. I can simply see that you were confused and that there was no malicious intent in what happened, it was simply me perhaps not being clear enough to players. I apologize for that and I am willing to appeal your ban fully and in turn I promise I shall specify the nature of these rounds further. Alright then, sorry.
  15. And while you appear to be very fond of the phrase, "Meme-round", nowhere was it stated that it was a "meme-round" as you managed to blow your head off before I even made a single announcement. Furthermore the ban itself was given by the Trial Moderator @firstact , however due to how server permissions function Trial Moderators are unable to give permabans and thus it was given out in his name by me. You had made several announcements and if I remember correctly YOU had said it was a meme-round in ooc conversation with someone who didn't want it to happen. No one was really bothering much with IC that round, no one was treating it seriously, I was under the quite reasonable impression that such ooc behaviour was fine. Certainly doesn't bloody well deserve a permaban.
  16. BYOND Key: Gamerlord_357 Staff BYOND Key: Coalf Game ID: ? Reason for complaint:It was a silly meme-round and I was beaten half to death in sparring (BTW, should being hit while the opponent is wearing boxing gloves almost kill you?), and I headed to the medbay. There was no one there (not surprising considering it was a memeround with a low popcount) and I was already pretty impatient that the setup for the memeround was still going (it was going to be a martial arts tournament) and since I couldn't move at any kind of speed to the cryo and I had a gun in my holster so... I thought it was just a memeround and I could do whatever.
  17. What, make multiple books? I'm trying to port the Scriptures Of The Maidens from a piece of Exalted homebrew to make a resource for people wanting to mess around with fake religions. I have twenty five seperate... You know what, fuck it. She knew how to eat an owl’s heart and gain its insight. She knew how to bake herself in the sun and melt herself in the rain. She knew how to mess up wisdom. She knew how to love, and how to hate. "Survival is flexibility," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN AND THE DUST Once, there was a maiden... ...who learned that the faster she ran, the faster she could run. Thus, running consumed her, Until one day, she flew beyond the ending of her life. "And here I thought it’d last forever," she said. "But ---" "There’s always an ending," said the run. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN AND THE SCYTHE Once, there was a maiden... ...who was born, and told her mom, "I know how I’m gonna die. It’s gonna hurt bad, and I ain’t coming back. I could avoid it, but I won’t. ‘cause one day, death’d come to me and say, ‘Baby, don’t you know?’ ‘There’s always an ending.’" THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DROWNING MAIDEN Once, there was a maiden... ...falling forever in the water. She reached for purchase, but found nothing; her arms swung through the sea. The water did not slow her, nor did the chill, But she could not breathe. Each time she gasped and found no breath, a human child died; and thus, she lived. "Survival is acceptance," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN’S PROMISE Once, there was a maiden... ...who was the living embodiment of everything right in the world. While she lived, no real harm could come to anyone. Oh, wounds, disease, even death, sure. But she stood between the world and anything worse. "Except," she said, "I’m going to die." And no one listened. "I’m going to die tomorrow," she said. And no one heard. Into the silence, she said, "There’s always an ending, after all." THE SCRIPTURE OF THE LOVER AND THE MAIDEN Once there was a maiden... ...who met a thing that lived outside the world, and there was a beauty to it. It burned with an unholy wrath that could destroy Creation. It hated her as much as it loved her. Its kiss was blood and perfection, for its teeth were sharp. It offered her power, and with it, hooks to tear her soul. With care not to burn her fingers, she took it into her life. "Love is what you make of it," said she. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE HUNTED MAIDEN Once, there was a maiden... ...who was driven from her land. Great black stags chased her, and their eyes shone blue. Monsters scrambled after her through the bush, though they found her not. Stumbling on a log, she fell; and thought to surrender, and end the torment of the hunt; but then, she stood, and stuck out her tongue at the dark woods behind her. "Love is smiling at your troubles," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE EXPECTANT MAIDEN Once, there was a maiden... ...who was always looking forward to the way things would be. She said, "Someday, I’m getting out of this place. Someday, I’m going to kill that boy that put me here. And while I wait, I don’t much mind, ‘cause it’s better to dream tomorrow than to be there." *** "I’m holding at bay," she said, "what I know to be true. That I’ll never get out. I won’t let my dreams die! I’ll hang on to hope," she said, "until Time itself ends. But ---" "There’s always an ending," said Time. THE SCRIPTURE OF THAT OLD THING Once, there was that old thing... ...that wasn’t like a shadow, because you could see it too well. ...and that wasn’t like a light, because it didn’t make flowers grow. So, it had to be a maiden, but she didn’t mind. "To know the world is to love it," said she. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE SAVORY MAIDEN Once, there was a maiden... ...who ate 236 leaves. She had to, because otherwise she’d forget where she came from, and that would make everyone very sad or, possibly, very happy. She found herself in a woods full of monsters, impelled toward their cook pot. "Do you want to cook me?" she asked. "Or do you just think that’s where maidens belong?" There was a crack in the cook pot’s bottom that let in the sky. She started to squirm through the crack, but then, she saw that the clouds carried chains and the wind was their manacles. As the monsters pulled her back, she called to the stones and she called to the sky, but it was the night that came to her aid; and, in the night, fire and pain. "Why should you help me?" she asked. "To know the world is to serve it," they said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE BRIDE Once, there was a maiden... ...who fled a shadow, in the company of a friend. They traveled through strange places, and among strange people. "How can you trust me," he asked, "with such horror behind you?" "Love endures," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN IN TERROR Once, there was a maiden... ...who knew some things about a man. He didn’t like that, but he kissed her anyway. She told him everything in her heart: She whispered truths to him, but he didn’t care. She whispered hopes to him, but he didn’t care. She whispered her prayers, but heard only silence. And she whispered her fear to him, but he didn’t care. He looked upon her inner self, and the void met his eyes. "To know the world is to fear it," said he. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN AND THE ROAD Once, there was a maiden... ...who found herself climbing up an earthen path. Her footsteps made no sound. There was a silence in the air. She walked for years, and then, came to a cliff. The road gave way to clouds, and she could go no farther. "There’s always an ending," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN ON THE SHELF Once, there was a maiden... ...who sat on a child’s shelf and watched the entire world. Her eyes were made of glass, And their pupils were red. Her mouth was sewn on. For years and years, she did not move. Then, when necessary, she was gone, and the head of that child with her. "Survival is control," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN IN CHAINS Once, there was a maiden... ...and before her came all the peoples of Creation, and knelt. They set aside their petty squabbles in her name. They acclaimed her with many shouts. They prayed for her safety and her weal. Not one of them struck free her chains. "To know the world..." "...is to own it," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DANCER Once, there was a maiden... ...who stood at the center of every dance. Back then, she knew all the dances. She never missed a step. One day, she heard something in the music, as a singer dropped the beat. It taught her of the joy of dancing poorly. She started dancing more and more awry. "Love has no rules," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE ONE-HANDED MAIDEN Once, there was a maiden... ...who struck an iron wall Until it shattered her hand. She did not stop, though cracks spread throughout her bones. She did not stop, though blood sprayed her eyes. She did not stop until she shattered the wall. "Survival is fury," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE ETERNAL MAIDEN Once, there was a maiden... ... made from a lump of iron, shaped by wind, sea and fire Fearing how wood might shape her, she ran, and did not look back One day she forgot what she ran from So, she pulled out her heart to ask it. "Why don't you look back and see?" it said. So, she sighed and threw her heart away. "I have no use for beginnings" said she. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DESIRABLE MAIDEN Once, there was a maiden... ...whom many men wanted for their own. She stepped as softly as starlight. She shone with glory. And one by one, they came to claim her. She fled by the quickest route she found. "Why do you run?" the storm clouds said. She said, "I cannot help who drives me." THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN AT SEA Once, there was a maiden... ...who set sail with a captain she did not know. She noticed the ship was crushing the waves and told the Captain to steer the ship higher so that it could be above them. "But not too high," she said. "I’d hate to crush the clouds." The sea came over the side as a creature with teeth. So, she set it on fire, until only the teeth were left. It wasn’t expecting that to happen. A face in the depths glared at the Captain. The maiden got angry. She broke the face and broke the depths and broke the sea, leaving only the white caps of the waves. "Why did you do that?" asked the face. "Rarely is travel peaceful," the maiden said. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE WHORE Once, there was a maiden... ...and things didn’t go so well for her. It was just the way of the world, you know? She had to give up power to get it, and she didn’t get much. Some people hated her for getting any power at all. She needed a protector, so she gave herself to a man named Necessity. "Love is hard," she said. THE SCRIPTURE OF ABSENCE Once, there were... ...shadows in the window. ...footsteps at the gates of life. ...whispering at the door: "Should I live or die? Am I living or dead?" "To know the world is to choose it," says the Void. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN ENTOMBED Once there was a maiden... who lived in a tomb and the tomb was made in her image. Because she lived in a tomb, she became like the Dead. She slept and dreamed. And sometimes she woke and walked within the confines of her tomb. "Why do you move; " her own ghost asked. "Why walk at all?" "I'm not trapped while yet I run" said she. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN AND SHADOW Once, there was a maiden... ...whose shadow fled from her. She chased it over fire and stone. She chased her shadow to a monster’s mouth. Her shadow went right in. It didn’t know how to stop. The maiden caught her shadow in a deep cave full of ghosts. Her shadow turned into a ball of thorns that wrapped around her. When the ghosts pricked their fingers on the thorns, they came to life. This didn’t make anyone very happy. The maiden made a ladder from the ghosts’ bones, but it only pointed downward. "Why go on?" her shadow asked. "I can’t quit now," said she. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE MAIDEN AT WAR Once, there was a maiden... ...whose battles called her far from home. She slew the thing she feared most, and conquered the land that feared her. As she fought, far away, she knew her children needed guidance. She knew they faced tyrants. She knew they faced fear. In her homeland, things were broken. So, she held up her hand before the sun, cast a shadow on the world and drowned the troubles of her home in darkness. "Survival’s a long reach," she said It's all good shit for a Chaplain looking to proselytize to the crew and inspire/condemn them. Thanks, I'll give it a shot.
  18. I'm trying to add an ingame book, the text is too long to write on a piece of paper so I input it directly into a blank book. Problem is, I absolutely cannot add line breaks. According to the text prompt for writing in the book html doesn't work, and I've tried multiple methods of using bb code ([br], [br][/br], etc), but nothing works. I have all the text in a notepad file, just waiting for whenever I can find someone who knows how to make this work.
  19. It's fine, this is resolved I guess.
  20. You decided the captain had to be stopped without knowing the full picture, nor being in a position to do so. a quartermaster might have some similarities to a head of staff, but they do not share any of the authority. You decided to get involved in security's affairs at the expense of your own well being, and the diona's. Rushing them with a knife when it's not self defense is pretty much escalating to lethal force out of the blue, when as far as I know, they haven't personally endangered you; but not only that, they had a weapon, and you had an easy escape route if you had engaged and the weapon came out later, but you decided to keep on attacking until death, before shouting in LOOC which is basically instating your desire to kill the antag above all. Playing an ex-military character does not mean you get to circumvent the rules, no matter how "robust" and "vigilante" your character is, they will be bwoinked if they're just an excuse to go after antags (not that they're even robust). If you want the freedom to fight antags the moment they appear and do something not even directly affecting you then this server won't fit with you. The 'I Die A Hero' bit was a joke on something that happened in a previous round, where I told another player in the looc to just hurry up and follow me to the space carp so that I could die a hero, because dinner was waiting. The problem with saying that RP is important is that at that point in the round, no one was responding. If I have to RP stuff, fine I'm more than excited to do that, but don't say 'oh you need to rp your opposition to the antag' when no one is engaging. I like to think of playing Space Station 13 as telling a story, but it's sort of impossible to tell a story when you're being given the verbal equivalent of seeing an impassible waist-high fence. I tried to get others interested in the fact that there was a major discrepancy and violation of regulations going on, I tried to engage, but all I got was 'good for the dionae' and 'I don't see a problem with this'. It gets frustrating trying to tell a story on your own, and I'll admit I was angry as fuck when I finally went to try and arrest the Captain. I shouldn't have attacked, but I saw the lethal weapon and panicked. Also, two things. One, there really needs to be a formalised chain of command in the wiki, by which I mean, when the heads of staff are either dead or unlawful we need to know what to do. At the moment it just lists that everyone is equal except for assistants, which is not very helpful. Two, AFAIK there were NO security staff. No one was responding to messages, no one was present about the station and in the end the false Captain was taken down by a (mech? robot?). Don't say I involved myself in security's affairs when for all intents and purposes there was no security. Another thing the wiki needs to clarify. I get it, but my problem was every other player deciding 'fuck the regulations' they would just ignore what was going on. I was happy to lose, I just wanted there to be an actual conflict/contest/confrontation. I was pretty happy with the AI's roleplaying and to an extent yours, it was everyone else that I was pissed off with. If you're supposed to be a loyal employee of Nanotrasen, then you should be abiding by it's regulations, instead of just going 'fuck it' and ignoring the situation.
  21. To further clarify, the WIP bio of the character in question is that of a former soldier/marine/etc working as a Quartermaster/Cargo Technician/Miner. I was working on making him an uncompromising jackass who demands results, sticks to the rules and views 'others' (nonhumans especially, but also potentially Merchants, the hyper-religious and anyone who deviates harshly from the norm) as possible threats to size up and hold at arms-length. He's part of my endeavour to form a series of coherent characters since playing the same amorphous blob of character with the same name is against server rules.
  22. 'Armed vigilante' is an overstatement. 'Order security around' isn't exactly correct. 'Alerting them to a breach in regulations and demanding they do their jobs' is closer. I didn't actually intend to kill you until I ran into you pulling a final stand with a laser gun. I only intended to convince you that it was over and that you and your compatriots needed to submit to legal custody. I only had the wrench and switchblade because I had been working in the Surface level earlier which required tools to open powered-down doors and a method of fighting giant spiders. You say our interaction was 'repetitive', I say it was like ramming my head into a brick wall. An obvious problem that everyone around me refused to look at, while with every passing minute more and more dionae spawned. An AI that was clearly having some form of logic-malfunction, skipping over a basic concept and reducing it to a paradox (I can't verify the legality of the Captain's authority without the Captain's authorization) which no one else seemed concerned about. I understand that we can't use meta information to interact with antags, and we're supposed to make it fun. That DOESN'T mean that we should just bend over and spread the cheeks whenever they're in an advantageous position. By that point no one was communicating, I had heard literally nothing from any department head, not the HoP, not the CMO, not the RD or CE. The HoS was confirmed dead (holocarps) and I had three miners in Cargo with me and as far as I knew, it was the only place that the dionae hadn't compromised, due to my refusal to allow any nymphs inside. So what was I supposed to do?
  23. BYOND Key: gamerlord357 Staff BYOND Key: Datberry Game ID: Reason for complaint: Was banned after fighting a diona scheming to become captain. The AI repeatedly skipped steps in logic and reasoning - like saying that the diona captain had to authorise a message to Central to find out if the CANON restriction on diona being captains had been changed. Multiple diona were being creepy, badgering me to give blood to their offspring and all that. When they started remarking on how 'change is good' and that the Captain was most certainly authorised and legally appointed and all that. Ended up demanding that someone with access reset the obviously malfunctioning AI and that security take the 'captain' into arrest. When no security responded I announced my intention as a Quartermaster and the only thing even close to a department head (the HoS was dead, the RD, CMO, HoP and CE were nowhere to be found) so I headed up the corridor from Cargo office when the AI 'reset' with a malfunction or something that identified the diona captain as a fraud. I then moved faster to find the captain with a laser and coat and moved to take him into custody, then when he shot me struck back. Then an admin popped up demanding to know if i was 'validhunting' and when I didn't know what that meant (it's mentioned once in the rules and then only in passing, no actual definition or meaning) banned me because spending time on here means knowing what that obscure term means is a requirement. The ban text specifically states that understanding that term is required. This is obviously ridiculous and frankly I suspect the entire 'diona as captain' plot was the moderator in questions brainchild. Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks: "I added both the staff account name and ban reason for you." - Sharp
