How long have you been playing on Aurora?: A year maybe?
Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?
I cant see it but i did some bombing of engineering as a traitor once, cant remember the punishment though.
Very little admin action aside from that.
Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.
What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:
To facilitate role-play in there department and to assist new players, aswell as establishing a positive department culture which makes players want to play even if the round is extended for example.
Facilitating role play means in an engineering capacity doing projects, training, whatever fluff role-play when its quiet, which it very often is it in Engineering after the initial setup and before any antags decide to make things go boom. I think a responsibility of a Chief Engineer is to keep engineers occupied and to establish bonds between the Department.
Assisting new players is obvious, Engineering isnt really that hard but it can be mightily confusing if your new, and so i think a key role of a Chief Engineer is to tutor the Apprentices, teaching them icly how to setup the SM, Shields, Thrusters and some more tricks of the trade like improving atmospherics, and to make it fun and to establish bonds.
This leads on from the first two, but hopefully with consistent chief engineer play, especially at lowpop, people will want to play even if there isn't that much going on or that much pop because they know they wont be sitting in the monitoring room for the entire round.
What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:
To give an example for role play, knowledge and good conduct. I would strive to uphold them by being a competent player and role-player and exercising authority esp as a chief engineer to get problems fixed and to undertake projects on slower rounds.
I do want to repeat myself as i have covered this mostly in the previous one, but maintaining solid role play is integral to performance as a head of staff, to give new and old players a beacon to model themselves off.
Knowledge is a responsibility of a head of staff, they should have played many rounds as Engineer, and be very confident in there abilities.
Good conduct, which is essentially just maintaining a high standard of everything i have mentioned above.
Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career?
Phoron crisis is hurting everyone, Horizon is trying to find more phoron, general instability in the wild-lands, Sol and Tau Ceti in crisis. Rick left Fisanduh in 2457, as the Dominian begun there draw-down in the region., spending his time before as a freedom fighter and combat engineer, and begun a job at Zavodski, getting trained as a weapons technician then pursuing engineering for the company. Rick's knowledge of politics and the general situation is quite sparse, hes more focused on keeping the ship optimized and his team happy, aswell as more leisurely activities, then reading newscasts.
What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?
Chief Engineer
Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?
Yes
Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.:
Rick Houser - Chief Engineer
Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?
Yes
Have you linked your byond account to the forums?
No
Extra notes:
I really think i can excel as a Chief Engineer, as on other servers i mostly play command roles, so even if your not confident I really hope to achieve the trial period to prove what having a solid Chief Engineer can do for the Department.
