I've been back on the server less than a day after dealing with my last permaban. At the end of the round, I get shitsecced, but becuase I was banned before I make sure I don't say anything in OOC until round has completely ended and round end text has gone through, and then the only thing I type in chat is "lol, any reason to shitsec on this server", I'm bwoinked literally two seconds later by Shadow laughing at me and telling me I'm gunna be permabanned, not even asking for my side of the story, and then tells mot to -not appeal it-, which is shady as fuck. He also put in my ban reason that I "exexcuted a prisoner", which I did not do, I simply shot an already dead prisoner for a cool RP moment, the prisoner had already been shot like fifty times by the head of security, and my character immediatly got tackled, cuffed and headstomped after it. (Hence why I was expressing my displeasure to way they play sec at round end). Evidence/logs/etc: I'm not actually sure how to go about getting these, I'm not that good with Byond Additional remarks: I've been back less than a day, and this guy bwoinks me two seconds after my first line of text in OOC, and all I said was "Any reason to be shitsec", which is a perfectly reasonable thing to say after being shitsecced. I didn't bring IC into OOC, I wasn't spamming OOC, I didn't even type in OOC until after the round had ended, which is when everyone us using OOC anyway! I think Shadow just has something against me and wanted to ban me becuase I didn't ass kiss like he wanted me to in my permaban appeal, especaily given how happy he seemed to be to be banning me when he bwoinked me, and didn't even ask for my side of the story when he did it. Saying "Any reason to be shitsec" on it's own, is not enough reason to permaban someone, this is ridiculious. (Literally less than a day old permaban appeal can be found here:

In all honesty I don't remember exactly why I got banned here, so I'm not sure I can give you the exact answer you were looking for. But to answer your second question, I'll go and read over your server rules again to refresh myself on the speccifics of what you guys want here.

Allright, that's enough people (Including people who I respect the judgement of) saying I'm wrong for me to feel like I should stop arguing, ban is justified. Please look kindly on the appeal I inevitebly end up posting a month or two down the line!

The intern was the closest thing we had to a surgeon, and if I didn't have surgery done on me I was going to die, of course the intern is going to be the one doing surgery and it doesn't justify arresting him half way through his work becuase he didn't follow procedure when someone was literally dieing. Someone being rude to you doesn't make it okay to shitsec them, and I never claimed that becuase I'm ahelping I'm immune to punishment, I just want something to be done about the shitsec. Literally every single one of my bans has been a "Hey, we know this isn't actually justified but becuase of escelation we're going to go ahead and do it anyway", I get you've got procedures and stuff but when your procedures lead you to banning someone who's sole crime is being rude in OOC once a while ago, then your procedures need to be looked at. Carrying Chloral hydrate and asking people to not be shitsec are not permabannable offenses, and if your procedure is leading you to think that they are, then something has gone horribly horribly wrong. The fact that you're not able to realise that yourself really points further to my suspiscion that you're valid hunting, my situation is only permabannable in the most technical of senses, and just becuase you technically can doesn't mean you should.

Wether or not security usually display shitsec like behaviors doesn't change the fact that where displaying them to me, I don't know if it's becuase I pissed this player off or becuase I'm new or whatever other reason it might be that they're doing it but them "not usually doing it" doesn't help me at all when they're doing it to me. I'd also like to repeat that being arrested for creating an explosion is perfectly justified and I didn't feel that part was shitsec in the slightest, something I explained to you in game, my issue was with them arresting the surgeon that was operating on me -during the middle of surgery- and almost killing me by hauling me off to the brig whilst I was still bleeding to death and making me argue with them for five minutes whilst I was bleeding out in order to covnince them to let me get back to med so I wouldn't die, all of which was done after I had said to security "I'm happy to cooperate and explain everything that's happened, just as soon as I'm done getting surgery". This combined with this asshole IC play and the HoS going out of her way to be as demeaning and degrading to my character as possible was why I was asking them to stop shitseccing me. I feel I should also say, when I accidently blew up the grenade I was making (To give to sec so they could do some live fire training with their cadets, as I've done in previous rounds without issue) I ahelped to explain the situation and to ask if I'd done anything wrong in a server rules sense, to which I was told it was purerly an IC issue. I'd also like to point out that Goret only told me to drop it in LOOC (Which I did), Goret didn't say anything about not ahelping the issue, and if you had an issue with my ahelping the issue you should have just said so, not ban me. You say "so many rule breaks in two weeks" but what do my rule breaks actually ammount to? Carrying around chloral hydrate as a chemist? Asking security to not shitsec me in LOOC? Yes, my behavior in OOC when I first joined the server was unnaceptable but I made sure to change how I've been talking and how I phrase my criticisms becuase of that (Much in part to that conversation I had with Pratepresidenten, please don't feel nothing came from that, I appreciated you taking to time to talk to me). I feel that my rudeness when I first joined was my only serious offense and I don't feel a permaban is in any way apropriate for what I've done.

I would agree that I have gotten very firey in the past when I first started on this server, and threw around a lot of abuse at players who I felt wheren't playing security in a very pleasent way, I've since apologised for having done that and in all my rounds since I've been trying to my best to limit my langauge when it comes to OOC chat. I would say that in this round (The one in which I got permabanned) the only thing I said was the fact that they where being shitsec, I wasn't throwing abuse at them, just stating what they where doing and requesting they would stop doing it. I apologise for my toxic behavior in the past but I feel I've put that behind me since.

BYOND Key: IGBASteve Staff BYOND Key: Goret Game ID: b1i-b2G1 (for the latest one) Reason for complaint: This staff member gave me a week long ban for "powergaming" (I was carrying around chloral hydrate as a chemist) just a bit ago (Which was ridiculious but I didn't want to make too much of an issue about it so didn't complain at the time), and as soon as I get off that ban (which was later reduced to a three day ban) they give me a permenant ban for "Being agressive in LOOC", but I wasn't agressively insulting anyone at all, all I did was ask why a certain character was shitseccing me every round we where in together, I wasn't making any kind of accusation towards her own personal moral fiber or trying to make them feel crap, I just wanted to know why I'd been shitsecced four times by them, every round I've been with them in. I was also ahelping to try and get someone done about the shitseccing, but the admin chose to do nothing about it, instead punishing me for having the gall to be upset at being shitsecced. I feel this is a prime example of the procedures and checks put in place to uphold justice completely and utterly failing, the admin who was supposed to stop me from getting griefed instead turning around punishing me for having gotten griefed, it's incredibly upsetting. I really wanted to get along with Goret after the first incedent even though I didn't feel it was fair to have gotten punished for carrying chloral hydrate as a chemist and I've been trying to be friendly with them, I really feel hurt that after I swallowed my pride to try and offer a hand of friendship he's still treating me like trash and validhunting punishment on me.

I have now read all of the rules cover to cover, there where some things I overlooked on my first run through so it's good I did.

I've already read the rules once but perhaps I skimmed them more than I should have so I'll go and read them more thoroughly before playing again. Im curious as to whether or not this appeal was successful? I'd like to play a round tonight if possible.

Allright, I think I get it! Thanks for taking the time to spoon feed it to my dumb ass, I appreciate you going through the effort to break it down for me since I was genuinely confused about it, it didn't come off as rude at all! Now that I do understand what's going on though, I'd like to adgust my ban appeal slightly. I'd completely understand and agree that walking around with a loaded syringe gun with chloral hydrate is bad RP and powergaming, and not behavior accepted on his server. I have absoloutely no issue with this rule and I am more than happy to adgust my play and behavior to accomodate that rule, I feel as if I had been bwoinked during the round and the admin said "Hey, cut that out" I would have agreed and done it instantly and the situation would have not gone any further than that. I feel the only reason is escelated past that is becuase of the chaos surrounding the situation, I accept full responsibility for not perceiving the issue the admin was attempting me to criticise on and that becuase I was not compliant (Becuase I didn't perceive what he was asking of me, which I take responsibility for) he was required to very rightfully issue a ban. I'm happy to take the three day ban, I but I would ask that after this we can put this situation behind us and it doesn't count towards future steps of escelation, I'd like it if we could treat it as the situation went as simply as: "Hey, cut out the chloral hydrate" "no problem bossman" "Cool, enjoy your round", which is how I feel it would have gone had the timing of the situation not happened during the chaotic mess surrounding it.

My worry also is that this will count as an additional "Step" on the escelation table if I where to mess up and do something in the future

Hey, moving discussion here as requested. I'm curious what exactly provoked this escelation, I understand that I've gone from a warning to a 24 hour ban to a weeks ban, with the serverity of the ban not being represented by the severity of the offense but by the step of what point of escelation I'm on, which makes perfect sense to me. What I'm curious about is what triggered this escelation, I was the one who origonally contacted the admins, they didn't come to me, and as far as I'm aware I did nothing wrong during that round ...

Hey Leudoberct, thanks for your feedback, just wanted to make a few comments however. 1: I only complain when I'm getting (For the lack of a better term) "Shitsec", sorry if that's all you see from me, I'm not usually a chatty guy in OOC unless something like that happens so I can see why it's your only impression of me. Hopefully once it happens enough, we'll start to see some action happening about the way security play so I'll have less need to complain about it OOC! 2: Medical doctor is actually my main role, I had one round when I first joined the server where I was adgusting to how this server works (SS13 is a strange game in the way that every server has different rules!) but I feel I've been pretty robust as far as medical is concerned since then. 3: I've insulted and yelled at people who asked me to read the wiki but the way you phrase it makes it sound as if I had done becuase they where asking me to read the wiki when in reality I was doing it becuase they where being (Again, for the lack of a better term) "shitsec". Though, I will give you that I shouldn't shout and insult at anyone for any reason, no matter how much I feel they deserve it and I'm trying to hold myself to a much higher standard since when I first started here. 4: In the rules of the unbanning section there's a rule saying: "Only post if involved. If you are not a moderator or administrator and were not involved in a specific incident that may elicit a ban request, you may not post or reply to a ban request regarding that incident."

BYOND Key: IGBASteve Total Ban Length: week Banning staff member's Key: Goret Reason of Ban: Carrying a syringe gun as doctor (Supposed this means I was powergaming) Reason for Appeal: I don't think carrying a syringe gun as a doctor is not a bannable offense, would be my first reason for why I feel this appeal should go through. I'll give a little more context into the situation that led up this situation to help people understand how it came about in the first place. I was in med, doing as you do as a med, then some security person says "I'm going to blow up med" and throws a singularity onto the ground, so I shoot my syringe gun at her with sedative (non lethal sedative) and call sec to surgery. When sec get here, they explain the singularity was just a toy (I have no way of knowing this) and then start shouting at me, one of them even striking me. I RP pushing him back for hitting me, and use a single disarm on him as a representation of the shove I give him, I was hoping to get a RP scene going with funny stuff, character interaction and wacky hijinks, what I instead got was immediatly tazed and cuffed and dragged to sec with no respond RP of any kind, I Ahelp to let admins know that security are being (In the most respectfull way possible) "shitsec". I usually would have let the situation develop a little more IC before I contacted an admin, but on this server in particular, even previously with these same character I've been having problems with security acting like this in almost every round to the point where I've only played a single round where this kind of play hasn't emerged as an issue and completely ruined the second half of a round for me. There was only one admin on at the time (So I'm sure they where busy and dealing with multiple issues allready, I appreciate all the work the admins and mods put into making this game run) and they got to me very quickly, which I appreciate and is a credit to them, but instead of addressing the issue that I was asking for help with the first message I'm sent was something allong the lines of "Hey, you're record looks pretty bad", reffering back to my record all through the conversation which left me feeling like that wheren't paying attention to the situation, I also felt that they'd allready decided to not help me from the the moment they'd checked my record as their attitude seemed to be more searching for something that I've done wrong instead of searching for something which sec had done wrong, which I greatly did not appreciate. I wasn't asked much about the situation myself, giving me the impression that the admin was asking the offending security what it was that had happened and after a bit came back to me asking why I was carrying around a syringe of sedative to begin with, which more of less confirmed my suspiscions that they wheren't planning on helping me. I got upset and admittedly quite rude with the admin (Though I made sure to apologise later when I had calmed down, I don't want to be the type of person that's rude to anyone, ever) and they said that becuase of previous offences, reffering to a 24 hour ban that I'd recently received he was going to escelate me to a week's ban for breaking the rule of "powergaming" for having used a syringe of sedative whilst playing a doctor. I don't feel using sedative as a doctor is powergaming, personally, though I'm sure there are some who might disagree, and even if it was, I don't think it's enough of a powergame to justify a week's ban from the game. For this reason I'd like to have the ban removed, please.
