Another possibility was MAC Address. At the time, I was trying to join on my Macbook, which doesn't have Byond support, and was joining with a non-legit XP VM that I downloaded online. It's easily possible that someone else had used this VM before. Other than that I have zero idea how it could have happened.

BYOND Key: Purlek Total Ban Length: It says "The ban is for 1 minutes and expires on 2015-09-05" Banning staff member's Key: bluespacecat Reason of Ban: "You, or another user of this computer or connection (buttaliumquen) is banned from playing here. The ban reason is: Griefer" Reason for Appeal: I attempted to join the server while I was at work (A university internet connection), and got that message. This makes sense, because university connections are shared, and this type of thing happens. Now that I've got home, however, the ban followed me. This is concerning, because I've only been playing on the server for a few days, and have been loving it. Thanks for your time dealing with this.
