  1. The knowledge for xenoarcheology was passed down from the conglomerate as it was required for the job. The aptitude for research work extends only to xenoarchaelogy. The mentioned "Simple repair" of their brethren is as small as using nanopaste and welders for superficial outer shell repair and is not meant to be indicative of intricate robotics knowledge. As for "before laws binding their existence were overturned in 2458 CE. Despite a lengthy invasion, Terra and numerous other IPCs found themselves free. " I think I just messed up on the wiki and misinterpreted something, since the date of the IPC right acknowledgement is 2447. So it should be something like "before laws binding their existence were overturned in 2447 CE. Terra and numerous other IPCs found themselves free." Terra was 'unoffically free' until 2447 since it was operating with the scrappers, when they moved on, their only way of safe travel was the use of fake documents about their ownership. And since the "Synthetic Threat" and Ceres Lance weren't prevalent during those times, it was easier to get lost among hordes of machines and other synthetics. After 2447 Terra's freedom was recognized by Tau Ceti, yet they stayed without a citizenship.
  2. Will expand it in a bit. "Free and no longer bound" means that Terraneus Diagnostics considered the machine destroyed, no paperwork remaining to prove the connection, it officially stopped existing. Excavation duty, besides mining, included xenoarchaeological studies, which did affect their choice of career later on. It's place of origin is Earth (Terra), but as said, they were sold to the mining conglomerate at the time, I decided to keep it more or less vague as to where exactly they've been operating during their employment. Scrappers, as per lore, originate from Sol and Eridani, and frequently flee to places where synthetics are tolerated. Perhaps I should've clarified. As for the last bit, I am not quite sure how to explain.
  3. BYOND Key: Kostyan Character Names: Donovan Murphy (Have more characters but don't play them at all) Species you are applying to play: Integrated Positronic Chassis Have you ever read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Why do you wish to play this specific race: I like robots, want a shot at playing as one. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Different mindset from those of an organic, like view on personal connections, life/death, slavery, etc. Overall a different perspective grounded in cold logic more than anything. Interactions, based on exploring those themes may yield interesting Roleplay opportunities, even more so between synthetics. Due to the views on their freedom and sapience has been mostly uncertain on the galactic scene, their interactions with organics opposed to the idea may be volatile and worth delving into. I'll definitely roleplay more on the cold-synthetic side of things. Character Name: Terra Please provide a short backstory for this character: Terranius Diagnostics creates TD Unit-5XT on June 3rd 2409, a First Generation Industrial Model IPC. Whilst initially revolutionary, the frame would further create issues for TD Unit-5XT almost half a century later. Initially designed for hard labour, it was eventually bought by a now defunct conglomerate of mining corporations. Its beginning years were hardly considered "luxurious" by many, with TD Unit-5XT sustaining damage to their chassis thanks to unsafe mines and precarious circumstances within the void. It was inevitable that eventually the unit would be crushed by machinery whilst excavating additional shafts for mining. Discarded, and unable to see any change for the foreseeable future, TD Unit-5XT was hopeless. Against all odds, they eventually were saved by the "Scrappers", more specifically a group of salvagers that came across the remains of the IPC. Installed within a rusting baseline chassis, TD Unit-5XT soon found themselves inquiring about their existence -- "free, and no longer bound" even despite laws regarding its existence proving such a concept was nigh impossible, perhaps they'll find the answer later on. They named themselves Terra, in reference to their place of origin almost an eternity ago. Due to it's programming Terra quickly found an aptitude for research work, as well as involving themselves within augmenting robotic companions that had a similar past to Terra. Despite the gratitude for being saved and finding someone to get them a fake documents about their ownership, Terra eventually moved on from being with the scrappers, keeping week ties with the former colleagues. For over a quarter of a century it worked alongside their synthetic comrades within District 14 on Biesel, be it endless scavenging duty or simple repair of it's metal brethren, before laws binding their existence were overturned in 2458 CE. Despite a lengthy invasion, Terra and numerous other IPCs found themselves free. They hurled themselves into a world where they were no longer bound, and invested all their resources into advancing themselves -- eventually securing a position within Nanotrasen, having enough knowledge to serve in a research department, they were accepted on the NSS Upsilon for almost four years before finally moving over to the NSS Aurora within the early months of 2463. What do you like about this character?: It's a robot and roleplaying as one will be very interesting for me. How would you rate your role-playing ability?: Intermediate Notes: Boop.
  4. BYOND Key: Kostyan Character Names: Donovan Murphy (Have more characters but don't play them at all) Species you are applying to play: Integrated Positronic Chassis Have you ever read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Why do you wish to play this specific race: I like robots, I have an idea for a character that I think is good. Wonder how it'll fit in with the rest of Aurora, hope I'll get to do some fun with it. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Due to not having a developed society and free-synth-groups being few and far between, their mindset, views on the world, life and other beings differs drastically. Their interactions with the crew differs as well because of that, which makes for interesting roleplay at times. Character Name: Hopeless Please provide a short backstory for this character: Hopeless was an early model of Terrranius Diagnostics, designed for clerical duties and assistance in research projects, due to the rapidly evolving market, his service was terminated after a few years due to being obsolete. Discarded, they were sold off to many other people over the years, taking on different roles depending on the owner's desire. Such was the robot's fate for many decades, the years of moving around, abuse and perpetual abandonment did not affect them, as their kind cares little for time and emotion. It was a witness to many events during this half a century, their identity 'refined' over them, like a blade over a whetstone. The year slowly crawled to 2462, their short 'employment' term at a small Nanotrasen facility ended with the decommissioning order and the subsequent free ride to the scrapyard. Their path would've ended there were it not for the passing Golden Deep merchants, looking to purchase salvaged positronics and their shells. Despite their luck, one's restoration came at a cost, the reward Hopeless' saviours was outrageous, but disagreement was out of the question. Being massively in debt, the unfortunate robot was once again forced into a working circumstance, perhaps with more illusion of freedom. After a year of absolving their debt as an overseer to many of their operations, from cargo hauls (with some of them possibly being contraband), VIP personnel movement to helping with their privately funded expeditions, Hopeless gained enough standing to be able to do it's own thing. Perhaps choosing Nanotrasen for their next employment might seem nonsensical after so much hardship, but it matters little to the pragmatical machine. Hopeless has a fresh start and it will make good use of it. What do you like about this character?: Made by me, plan to make them change over the course of their interactions with the crew. How would you rate your role-playing ability?: Intermediate Notes: My second app ever, so do tell if it's too bad.
  5. True, I know how many chanced I had to stop being a dumbass. You did say I got better last time, I'm confident I can do this, otherwise I wouldn't apply. I like the community, and after cutting much of my time on the game overall I seen things a bit clearer.
  6. Byond Key: Kostyan Total Ban Length: Permanent Banning staff member's Key: readthisnameplz Reason of Ban: Reason of Appeal: So, a few months have passed, Improvements weren't significant enough last time. I did a lot of stupid stuff and my self-control on doing them was almost non-existent back then. I knew I would be punished harshly because of previous behavior yet it still happened. I came back to try to finally fit in the community without creating more of the same, whether to trust that or not is really up to your judgement.
  7. Byond Key: Kostyan Total Ban Length: Permaban Banning staff member's Key: pratepresidenten Reason of Ban: "For interfering with antags as a non-officer diona, despite warnings that the hostages would be killed." (iirc this was the third warning regarding antag escalation and interaction which got me banned) Reason for Appeal: I think after a long time and playing on other servers I got the mindset of 'I should be involved in whatever situation' out of my head when playing, considering it never led to anything good and considerably worsened other's experience. I understand now how it should be approached and want to give it another shot. Even more time has passed and I think I'm ready to go back.

  9. 1. Not drinking blood in the first minutes was a dumb move on my part, but my logic at the time was to create some havoc instead of spending the time drinking, so I agree on that part. 2. Main strife is with ressurection, since when a person converts someone they should logically know that they might attack and possibly kill them, ressurecting them just seems like a free pass for no real reason. 3. I still think I was justified in killing them, even if my actions afterwards might've not fully tied in. If people play antag they should expect death at some point, either theirs or their victums for the purpose of the story, you saying "attempting to craft a larger story throughout the round" excludes death, necessary or otherwise?
  10. Byond key: Kostyan Staff Byond key: youjustgotowened Game ID: b70-ccSI Reason for complaint: Disagreement with judgement. Evidence/logs/etc: Additional Remarks: During the vampire round, after conversion my character killed the master vampire, which then was followed up by a bwoink from youjustgotowened. The reason for killing another vampire in that situation was valid, considering it is stated that a new-convet would be in frenzy and not loyal to the vampire that got them turned in the wiki page. The admin in question stated that doing that is illogical, which might be true, but it was not rule-breaking. Then they said that It was a problem because I was not talking, I think it's wrong because: A - the vampire who turned me was basically running away, B - because a frenzied new-turned can only scream incoherently, C - Because revenge for such transformation is a valid motivator. The last thing I find wrong with it is that the admin in question ressurected the vampire that my character has killed, which broke the immersion of everyone who witnessed that, and made the round into a hot mess that had to be solved with an ERT, which ruined the experience of everyone invloved save for the vampire. Sidenote: I apologize for ick ock and related hateful messages that are linked to the case, I was angry and irrational. I won't do a ban appeal because I really need a few days off so I'm not wound up. I never really write complaints because I can logically understand how someone might have a problem with what I did, even if I don't agree with it, but this time it wasn't the case and it made me boil over, which caused the ooc idiocy. The apology itself is directed towards youjustgotowened and matt. Side-sidenote: First time writing something like this so sorry if it might not be in the correct form.
  11. Byond Key: Kostyan Total Ban Length: 72 hours Banning staff member's Key: shestrying Reason of Ban: "Literally not a minute after Matt told you to stop fucking with people, you continue to, deconstructing the walls of a lab being used. You havea horible attitude in admin PMs, and the lawering needs to stop. Listen to staff when they tell you to do things.." Reason for Appeal: I think the reasoning is total bs, since after Matt (another staff) told me not to fuck with event stuff, I ignored the event people. After everyone /left/ the borging bay the meteor was announced and I thought why not /reinforce/ the walls, while shestrying said i was deconstructing them. I dunno but I think it's pretty crappy when I get banned for existing as a drone. "Horrible attitude" is what you describe by me getting annoyed that i get shooed and bwoinked for just looking at people? And saying 'lawering' is just a way of saying that my point doesnt hold any weight.
  12. BYOND Key: Kostyan Character Names: Ivan Togawa Species you are applying to play: Dionaea What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Exempt Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Why do you wish to play this specific race: As much as i like to play as a human, after time, it makes the usual Roleplay a bit bland, so i decided to mix it up by playing as a different race and the least human-like race i found was Dionaea, i find them very interesting considering their unique physiology and certain Changeling similarities. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Other than having an extremely alien physiology, they have a very remarkable mindset, being unable to understand complex emotions in the early years makes it somewhat difficult for them to casually interact with other races. Due to their gestalt nature, Dionaea refer to themselves using plural nouns. Dionaea are nomadic, they would take any job as long as it promises safety and education. Character Name: Freed From Sands [Full name], Fred [Nickname] Please provide a short backstory for this character: Freed From Sands was a nymph who was extracted from Diona Colossus for secret experimentation on Sol IV. Fortunately for it, while the ship it was transported in was passing through the uninhabited deserts of the planet, they got into a storm. The sensors array was badly damaged and was not able to alert the crew about the dangerously decreasing distance between the ship and an upcoming mountain. After the crash, nymph escaped the ship. Nameless, without direction, it fled into the desert. It walked for days until finally encountering one of the Mankind's great megacities. There, wary of the humans, it slowly learned their language by biting strangers, much to their annoyance. It began eating different trash in order to grow. Once it did, it started scouting in the city, taking different jobs that didnt require having any legal papers, once it got bored of the identical days in the sands of Sol IV, it applied for Citizenship, choosing the name 'Freed From Sands' as an ironic reminder and left the planet. Deciding it wont commit itself to only one task, it started working various jobs on different stations, until eveantually ending up on Aurora. What do you like about this character?: Fred is not a person who can be tied to only one job, so it might make for some nice rp. How would you rate your role-playing ability?: Dont overuse /me command nor break character, so i presume pretty average. Notes: English's not my main language so sorry if the app seems a bit clunky in places, plus im not used to writing these
