Seriously though, this is gold, and has a really good price worth on GOG, you'll at least get 20 hours out of it, and if you are me, it'll be at least over a hundred or two hours. I might start posting screenshot for all of those who haven't been graced by this gem.

For now this is fine. I'll give it two weeks, and post another application. SO this application may be considered closed until further notice by my request at least. I have made a re-visioned version of this post, and will continue to add to it for when I'm back in the white list thread. Thank you all for your feedback.

Ahh replies, such beautiful gifts from the forums.
No he isn't a private contractor(As in space mercenary..), yes he contracted for "Nanotrasen", Information pretaining to his employments specifics other than the fact he was in the deep space exploration vehicle for the amount of time shown; is strictly redacted. You would need captain level clearence, and the Head of security would probably have access aswell.
NO he did not work for Sol Alliance during his contract. He was a citizen inhabiting the Altair system, before he was offered such a contract by Nanotrasen. Also all space related contracts in his employment records have been Nanotrasen contracts.
The replies help me alot. As I said I'm new, and this was made up within less an hour. This tells me I need to read up on our RP background alot more. And fine tune this application aswell as the character.
So in the end thank you for your feedback! Tomorrow I will update some of the specifics for your viewing pleasure, and hopefully we can get somewhere.

How long have you been playing on Aurora?: A week
Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I have mastered engineering(aside from atmosphere which by the time this whitelist has been approved of will be dealt with) enough to fill in as head when there isn't one around, and the station is falling apart because of it.
Why did you come to Aurora?:I saw the term(HEAVY ROLEPLAY), and was all for it. In fact this is the first spacestation server I've ever played. Lucky me, good community.
Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?:Yes

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:Roleplay is escapism at its core, a game we can play with each other on the outside, and finally a place where we can break all the rules if we wish. We make characters we love or hate, and roleplay them until their sticky, or boring ends.
What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To represent the department, to lead, to manage. Head's of staff are akin to general's in the fact they most know their men/women/anyother sexual orientationed personal enough to trust them with the jobs assigned to them. To uphold a view of the larger picture, and lead where help is needed most for the station.
What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:The responsibilities of whitelisted players to others is to uphold a quality of roleplay. To not ruin it for everybody else with incompetence or horribly performed roleplay.
I will strive and endeavor with my creativity to improve, and learn every aspect of any whitelisted position earned. I will also not always follow the rules of the Head of Staff to create interesting situations(a little crime always helps a roleplay along) whilst not compromising the station in a moments breadth like an arse.

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):Greg is a citizen of the Sol Alliance, a 10 year veteran from a deep space exploration voyage. He set out and left behind everything for a high-paying Nanotrasen contract aboard the exploration vessel “The Last Envoy”. The contract ended up lasting 10 years before a return to civilized space.
The purpose of this contract was exploration in a specified star belt close to the core of the galaxy, however any other information is not disclosed to any potential employers, as Nanotrasen has redacted such information. Greg has performed and was trained for various roles upon such a independent vessel. He excels in engineering skills from experience and training, but also has rudimentary skills from experiences aboard the vessel, the following which are; First aid, close combat, and finally weapon handling. Greg is deemed by Nanotrasen employment review, reliable and recommended for rehiring for Nanotrasen operations.
What do you like about this character?: I enjoy that he is a hybrid human, his limbs entirely mechanical, it adds some depth to the medical roleplay when you need a roboticist in a snitch and there is none. I also enjoy this character's strange sort of honesty, sure he'll tell you the truth, but it doesn't mean he'll keep lies/secrets from you on the occasion. That's how he avoids problems caused by lying, don't tell or lie, and you'll be fine. At his core Greg cares for other human lives despite his rough exterior. He has a social stance like that of a Sergeant.
What do you dislike about this character?:He can be stern and quiet most of the time, stubborn at others. He is hard to get into a close relationship with.
Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff?:Yes.
Why?:He is a veteran of running independent space vessels in deprived extremes. He may not have much command experience, but can make it up with sheer knowledge and know how on how to keep everyone in a pressurized tin can alive.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?:I would rate it at... 8.5/10 and improving. As I get to know other character's better, and develop my own more. Some of the recent rps have been getting intense for me and others involved.
Extra notes: I've only been playing this game for a week, however I've learned pretty quick a lot of the positions I've dabbled in and have pretty much got engineering down, and Forensic's mastered. I can't wait to get into some head roles for the community, and make things interesting and roleplay stuffed.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I have as of late been in Head roles during emergencies, from Chief of Engineering, to acting HoS. Finding myself enjoying the positions, especially when I keep the station together from falling apart.
Why did you come to Aurora?:I enjoy stories, I enjoy living stories more. Roleplay is one of my favorite past times.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:[/bRoleplay is an immersion into another place, another time. Suspension of reality, and embracing another one. Allowing you to play the Hero or the Villain, the Martyr or the coward. And enjoy your time with other players.
What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To first manage, and organize their department. To communicate with other heads in collaboration. To solve any crisis, and assist civilians in need. To provide advice, and even mentor new players.
What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I think myself, that responsibilities of whitelisted members is to uphold quality of roleplay, and restraint of power. To avoid meta-gaming, and try to engage others into the atmosphere of Aurora.
To strive to uphold such principles, I will never break character, never meta-game, and engage players in deep role-play. As head I will create Rps and events when a crisis isn't about. Training procedures, exercises, social calls, Orders, you name it.

Greg before Nanotrasen employment, was an space dock worker in Altair for the local starship industry owned by Einstien Engines. His education in the assembly and maintenance of starship technology was superb compared to the average compatriot.
Nanotrasen ordered a deep space exploration vessel from Einstein Engines, and a team of highly skilled engineers for the mission they planned. Upon completion the 1km long space vessel was dubbed The Last Envoy. Every backup plan feasible incorporated into the ship.
Greg was hired as an Ship maintenance Technician, an Engineer. The Mission of "The Last Envoy" simple, tour the inner belt of the galaxy. Return with as much Artifacts, and scientific data plausible. For the harsh duration of such an extensive trip; most of the ship crew was enhanced with prosthetic harnesses to endure the extremes that could come about upon a deep space exploration mission.
The ships first and last port of call was New Biesel, crewed with the required scientific staff, and some additional security. Within a week of arrival The Last Envoy had departed.
The deep space voyager was supposed to return after 2 years. However instead it returned after 10 years to the port of New Gibson. The once gleaming spire of interstellar travel, The Last Envoy was battered and only a quarter of the crew remained, Greg Included.
Emergency medical care was given to the injury, and those relatively unscathed given a checkup, then a psychological exam. Greg was traumatized from the experiences of the trip, similar symptoms to post traumatic stress syndrome. After a two month rehabilitation he was released as an healthy human being.
From there Greg Thasslethain has worked several outer band shifts on Research outpost stations like Aurora, or Exodus. His work record impeccable.
What do you like about this character?: He is an engineer through and through. Wants to keep the peace, and loves to build.
What do you dislike about this character?:He is stern, and to the point. Dislikes socializing. Hard on the crew when they make mistakes.
Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff?:Yes.

Extra notes: I've been playing as much SS13 as I can but haven't had too much time during the week. However I hope to fill in the Head of Staff positions when needed, because most of the time when I'm on, there are a lot of holes or just a big one, in the command structure(As in no Head of Staff, or just one)
