  1. If the feedback isn't enough, I'd like to request an extension. I haven't been able to play much during the weekdays.
  2. Ah, I was just waiting for the greenlight, but I have told others about it word of mouth through LOOC. Will the trial start now then?
  3. BYOND key: ArmaliteRifle Discord Username: gigachad#1085 Character names: Francis Kelly How long have you been playing on Aurora?: I can remember joining this server roughly a year ago. I have a feel for every department. Notably Security and Engineering. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? A few bwoinks here and there, not much I can remember. I try my best to keep my nose clean. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To provide structure and more functions to a department, act as an authority figure for the ship, and to help their department make the ship as a whole communicate and act more efficiently. They would also be expected to handle situations much bigger than themselves, and teach apprentices or cadets the ins and outs of their job. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Be a role model to others, show around new players not only to their job, but to the server. They would have the power to allow, or create scenarios for a better narrative for the round rather than just using the power to immediately squash it with extreme prejudice. It isn't just a license to boss people around however. They are held to higher expectations than other players, in both roleplaying and rule aspects. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Tau Ceti, and the Orion Spur to an extent is undergoing strife and insurgency. In Biesel Phoron resources are dwindling and are now turning to the stars, or Elrya to keep the new republic strong. Fuel prices are increasing due to the unsustainable production. Abroad, the Solarian Alliance has become isolationist, much of its former territory falling into Biesel's hands or deserter warlords. Sergeant Francis Kelly is a former police officer recently recruited into Nexus Corporate Security. Due to the push of economic and political decline of Sol, and the waning prosperity of Biesel, he has traveled to Biesel to begin a new life, or at least live out the rest of it. Soon, a contract was signed. The SCCV Horizon. A large prospecting ship destined to explore the stars to locate and produce phoron, and survey for prospective colonies. Figuring he'd want some adventure in the stars rather than staying in the same spot as he had been in for years, he gladly accepted the posting. Perhaps his previous expertise will be useful to the Horizon, he thought to himself. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Head of Security Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes, I have prepared for the roles I want to do before I've made this application. I've learned so much about command roles during my trial. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Francis Kelly - Head of Security Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes, I do understand it can be revoked due to rule infractions, and the whitelist will endure as long as I behave myself. Have you linked your byond account to the forums? I believe I have so. Extra notes: Funnily enough, when my last application was denied my trial never ended. I haven't joined a command role since. However, I have improved my communication skills since last year. The slump in activity was due to a personal issue I didn't foresee. Things have gotten better; more stable now. Link to said application: On another note, I have been studying criminal justice in real life too, so I'm thinking of reforming Security a little bit. I do have some busy weekdays, notably Thursday and next Tuesday.
  4. Ah, I'm trying to improve, and I'm learning as I go along too. I try checking in with most departments but I get a bit stressed handling multiple incidents.
  5. Thank you, I'll step down to OM for the time being.
  6. Hello there, and thank you for taking the time to give me feedback. I will try and be more communicative for future rounds on my trial as well as if I get the whitelist.
  7. BYOND key: ArmaliteRifle Discord Username: gigathad#1085 Character names: Mikhail Petrov Davis Cooper Adam Steyn (old) Mark Nemirov (Most recent) How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Multiple months to a year, I don't usually keep track of playtime. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I couldn't remember if they were any, and if there were at most it was to educate me on how to handle things better. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To provide structure and coordination to a department. To represent a department in the chain of command and on a larger scale, to administer their jurisdiction effectively without overstepping boundaries. They should also serve as a mentor figure to newer crewmembers, and develop better roleplay within the station/ship. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: As a position of power, it would be expected to treat each player equal, and not carry grudges or give out preferential treatment. I usually treat other players as my peers, not much more or less. I would keep my department reasonably occupied, and allow others to enjoy the round. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Due to the ongoing shortage of phoron and increasing prospecting efforts as of lately, a former legionnaire pilot, Mark Nemirov, signs on with the SCC as a bridge crewman. By the time the SCCV Horizon was launched, he had been selected among many to serve aboard the SCCV Horizon. He does have a logistics degree, accredited by Ceres University, and has recently put in his application for a promotion. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? XO/HOP, Captain Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes. I have. I undnerstand that the Captain/XO are discouraged from powergaming nor getting too directly involved with dangers, neither should go on away missions with Bridge Crew, and the departmental heads must act level headed but also allow for good roleplay for the betterment of the round and other players' fun. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Mark Nemirov - Captain Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes, I understand that if my behavior warrants it, my whitelist could be revoked. Have you linked your byond account to the forums? I have now, after some difficulty. Extra notes: I have been multiple command roles on other servers, namely Baystation. Note that my account is new, since I created it for the purpose of applying for the whitelist and getting more involved with Aurorastation's community as of late.
