  1. I neglected to mention when Sec arrested Nasir, pretty much all of engineering started a fight with the arresting officers, with Mick being the only one not carted off because he stood out of the way.

Oh and before I leave. This. A few posts ago you said something like, "I love being called a lair on my first day back" or some such. Well you are! You're lying right there! I was in engineering and that didn't happen at all, the officers came in, told Nasir that they wanted to "SEARCH HIM IN THE BRIG." We say, you can search him here. Then the officers tase Nasir and cuff him. Why? Oh I have no clue. Then they tase and arrest Roadman. Again, Roadman didn't do anything till you tased him. Sure he pulled stungloves but that was AFTER YOU TASED HIM.

I hate to be the one here to say it but.. yea.. first day back in a while and you're not only being called a lair but you are LYING.

After reading the logs, it seems you're right, you didn't fight back against security. Well when they came for Nasir anyway. However, you stood right next to Nasir as he was being arrested from what I remember. In contrast to Mick, who stood WAY far back from the whole ordeal. So what I THINK happened was the guard thought you were going to take him down or something when you stood close to him. I'm not a liar, I just can't remember every single detail. Curse human memory, right?

  2. I do love being called a liar on my first day back. Well second, but you get my point.

Nasir and Akela were sitting happy in the engineering lobby chatting away as they normally do when a security officer comes down wanting to speak to Nasir. Akela immediately asks why and the officer states that Nasir has to be questioned in the brig due to anti-NT actions. Akela is obviously not very happy with this and tells the officer no and immediately states on command channel about the situation which is -to her irritation- ignored. The officer at this point refuses to back down stating that Nasir must come to the brig and is let into the lobby by Mick. At this point Oliver is also present. The officer then receives backup by two more officers and a Durand and immediately moves in to detain Nasir which Akela intervenes resulting in a flash to the face. Oliver, Nasir and Akela are all cuffed with Oliver and Nasir being dragged off to the brig. For some reason however, Akela is not taken with them and instead is left in the engineering lobby still in cuffs. After demands to know what is going on in command channel the captain appears in engineering and uncuffs Akela and both parties head over to the brig.

Akela is pissed at this point and starts demanding answers as to why her engineers have been arrested over command channel which is met by a vague and somewhat distant response. After about maybe five minutes of annoyed prying she finally finds out the reason for the engineers false imprisonment which is the engineer Mick's spiteful tongue. Mick had said that Nasir had threatened to release the singularity which was not true. Akela is extremely pissed at this point.

You see, there were a bunch of people in the room when Nasir threatened to release the singularity. I will quote roughly what he said.

"He will show you disloyal when he releases the singularity to kill you all."

Now I'm not a nuclear engineer, or even have any clue about reactors or anything. But that right there is the equivalent of causing a Chernobyl, all because sec wants to have a word.

The REASON engineering was arrested. The REAL reason, which only me and a few other people know because they were told or asked me. Was that engineering was a whiny bunch of cry babies who literally could not stop going on about a biohazard in the bar. Mick the engineer tried to reason with them ALL, saying about how it's a biohazard and they don't want to risk it. Only for them to complain once more. Being the nice guy that he is, he goes off and tells Sec about the complaints, hoping that sec'll come by and calm them all down, Or inform them of the situation slightly more. Mick never intended any of what followed. And begged for forgiveness from the chief while her and Nasir were on the engineering station.

Now you can call me an idiot, or whatever you want. But you call me a liar and that's when shit get's real.

    Thanks

    Your local Salty Saltlord

Oh and Mick was indeed taken into questionining for a very short while. Only to be released. Why? Because he did what he was told.

Edit: Hurrah, logs have been obtained. Rather rough but here.

Sharp Max/BlingX3 :(Ceti Basic) You've been showing dis-loyal behavior toward the NT.

Nasir Ha'kim/Nightmare 00 :(Ceti Basic) You want to see disloyal? Disloyal is Him causing the singularrrity to kill all you fools.

I will admit, I thought it was slightly more direct than that. But in any case, I'm sure any of you could interpret that as a threat.

Skull supplied the logs, and I can post more of the ensuring conversation if anyone wishes, those just seem like the most incriminating quotes.

  3. Spokes person for Chazzy boy here again, bringing you all the latest news:

    Quote 1

'Continue stirring drama in OOC and you will accept the entirety of the consequences.'

    Quote 2

'Alright. Three conditions for your continued presence here, then. You do not fuck with the players. You do not intentionally test my staff. You keep your ideology to private conversations and don't try to cause riots in OOC, LOOC or dsay. In exchange, you will receive the same treatment and privileges every other player does.'

Both of those quotes are from Doomberg in a private chat. Alongside that, Doomberg also stated that mine and the opinions of others do not count, stating that he does what he wants to. This seems to factor into this complaint somewhat. As one other player in the chat stated, 'Doomberg, you want a mile but won't budge an inch.

Edit: This isn't bloody me talking you lot, I'm posting on behalf of Chaz, you wanna tell him how much of a dick he is, go talk to him on skype

  5. Well then.

Since Chaz is banned from the forums, I'm speaking for him, and he had this to say.

"As I'm banned from the forums, I had to get someone else to post this for me. Much cheers to them for taking time out to do that.

Now, as an overthought, it's interesting that you decided to make a player complaint during the round in which the happenings took place, due to an IC issue. I believe you broke more rules right there than I did by denying your request. Since when was denying paperwork ever grounds for a complaint, anyway?

    1. I'd like to know whom the 4 players backing you up on making a complaint are, because if it's the people I'm thinking, then it's metafriends/metagrudging issues.

    2. I would also like to know how proper and thought-out IC reasoning designed as part of the character's background, that had no major impact on any player aside from yourself who decided to take a pissfit, is grounds for an OOC complaint.

    3. At no point did I threaten to shoot Tajarans, whether in a previous round or anything. If the staff check the logs, they will see that I asked Tajaran to desist from using catbeast language over the public comms, at which the character was told 'fuck you', and called 'a bitch', at which point I asked the HoP to use Telecomms to mute them from public comms as a breaking of the radio misuse Space Law crime.

    4. The IC reasoning behind the refusal to sign the form which was brought to the character was this: Since Tajaran recently rebelled and killed numerous humans, others and their own kind, having one walking about aboard a top-secret, high-tech experimental research facility could be perceived as a threat to station safety and security. Alongside this, due to Genetics being an experimental department, allowing it out into public areas where the Genetic user could be subject to genetic instability (such as serious wounds or death) would be a danger to the mental health of the crew.

    5. At no time were you 'forced to sit in a tiny lab'. You were perfectly welcome to wander about as long as you did not have powers. Using a clean SE is a good method to this, if you actually know Genetics. Test powers whilst in the controlled testing environment of the Genetics lab, and remove them when going outside. Simple as.

    6. As a whitelisted player, there is a responsibility to act within your department and be a good head. There is no responsibility to bow to the whim of any player who wants to do what they want, to do so would be bad RP. By doing this, I created a situation which could have been explored through RP ICly, but you instead decided to throw a fit and make a complaint, which is bad conduct. The first rule of improvisation is take what someone else says, go with it, and add more as it progresses.

    7. On another follwing note, I'd like to say the character was not a racist. They took into account the happenings on Tajplanet, and made an educated choice based on these. I clearly stated that it was a race issue, but not racism.

    8. 'Look at whos backing this complaint, they are all cats, they are all going to be affected by this captain': Then maybe you should take a look at what you are doing that would so cause you to be affected in this way. From my experience, Tajaran players are all rebellious, toeing the line of self-antagging every round and complaining that people discriminate against their character just because they're a cat, rather than looking at their own bad actions. Of course they're going to be affected. People who do wrong things are going to be affected, and that goes under the bracket of misuse of comms (Nightmare) and genetic testing (Furry), as well as any other crewmember who takes bad actions. It's not singling anyone out, it's dealing with the people who do these things, when they do them.

    9. If you're taking insults such as 'cat' and 'furball' to such a level that you feel the need to antagonise other, maybe you should relax. It's like calling Soghun 'lizards' or 'scales' and IPCs 'bots'. Not once have I seen any other race get pissed about nicknames. It's just Tajarans. What does that tell you about the players playing those?

    10. I would have liked to have been present to dispute the case of my report/arrest, but unfortunately I had to disappear. It's interesting that the whines of a Tajaran were taken over the thoughts of a Captain with ridiculous years of experience and making choices like these.

    11. Turns out the character's age is set at 28. THat's a mistake, it has been rectified. Thanks for pointing that out, Alberyk.

Thanks to the comments from players saying sticking to my choice was a good option. If you're going to play a character you play it, you don't change just because other people want you to fit in with what they want.

*This is my reply to both threads pertaining to this matter, seeing as the original complaint was locked just as this was about to be posted. Don't delete or edit this please if it seems out of place, it's a reply to both threads.

And for my own personal opinion:

I don't see what the big fuss is about, I believe people are throwing the "racist" card when clearly this is just a show of good work ethic, people with genetic powers are an absolute threat to station security, with powers that can EASILY overpower even the most heavily armed and armored of people while giving them no chance to fight back. You should consider yourself lucky that you are even allowed to experiment on yourself, let alone be allowed outside of your lab while having said powers.

Another thing, taking biology and racial history into account, it is well known the Tajaran are rebellious, and rather feisty (a common trait amongst all tajaran on the station that I have seen), so it is no wonder that they would be treated differently compared to humans. Genetic super power testing in my opinion should be completely restricted to R&D and genetics, because in my eyes it is far too dangerous to be around normal crew members.

Finally, I (the HoP) requested that a reason should be given that the geneticist should be allowed outside the lab with her powers, and despite repeated requests over the command channel (To the RD no less) I was not given an answer.

  6. Well then.

  7. Right seeing as how my ORIGINAL POST was removed, I'll chime in AGAIN.

Just come ON. What in the hell is wrong with some random guy going "oh look that guys a girl even when hes not lelelelelel"

Have we come this far that we can't even make fun of ourselves anymore? Or is fun the wrong word to use?

It's a goddarn game guys, someone's gon make fun of you if you were playing Bald McGriff, Or Kate McSucksAlot yet we only seem to notice when it's directed at our ladies.

Just. Enjoy. The. Game. Not that hard, OOC can be turned off for a reason, and this is one of those reasons.

Besides, if you're coming to Aurora and you're getting yelled at for playing a female space lesbian, then that might be because you're doing it in the most horrific way possible. But that's just me.

  8. So your entire argument boils down to
I am unrobust and dislike action, thus I want every single danger to my character in the average round pernamently removed.

Sorry if I sound rude, but this is essentially the impression I got from what you've written.

The problem here being you not explaining why every single of the 40-60 players we get during peak hour has to abide by your personal vision of what heavy RP is.

Uncontrolled danger to the player is what seperates SS13 roleplay from the average freeform roleplay forum.Other heavy RP servers have removed danger, and that ended in stations filled with multicoloured hair wielding special snowflakes.

I never said I hated action, nor do I say I am unrobust. Truth is I love both, good action and good robusting that is.

One round, I got into a brawl with an escaped convict, neither of us let up and it ended with the both of us being severely injured to the point of near enough no return. Now if I had died, do you think I'd have made a complaint? No. Because I got myself into that mess, participated in it. I'm not denying that round could have been fun, it just wasn't for me, a person who was instantly ganked the second she stepped into R&D, does that sound fun to you? A person who "likes" action? No. It does not.

For reference, my char Jennifer Hynes is on a bounty list, third highest in fact. This puts her on the target list for most antags, and am I okay with that? Of course I am, she's done some things so she deserves this bounty.

I'm not saying RP can't come out of action, I'm just saying that this was the wrong way of doing it. Hostage taking and kidnapping is FAR more fun for all parties involved in my personal opinion, rather than just a slaughterhouse.

Also, I once robusted an entire sec team with their own cuffs, locked them into lockers, and ran off on my merry day. Could I have killed them? Easily. Did I want to? Nope, because it's a dick move.

So no, I love GOOD action and am quite robust, thanks.

EDIT: I consider this complaint resolved/debunked

  9. Telling someone to "get out and go to some other server" just because of a round that was an overall mixed bag and was a bad experience for you isn't a reasonable "bottom line" or solution to give to someone. You're basically telling them to gtfo and not come back because of one round that you didn't enjoy.

Swat's recent antagging has improved. I have not seen any recent instances where he powergamed to shit. I believe he's learned from this round how far he can control certain instances.

I mean, sure, I'm a person with flaws and issues by myself with bad antagging instances as well. But here's my take on this. Telling someone that the "bottom line" for someone is to leave and not play a certain way on our server is just rude and uncalled for.

I stand by my opinion on it, this has happened before, and is not just a one round thing. It's happened before and I /believe/ it will happen again. Now I'll admit I've not been playing much these days, and may not have had the "prime" experience you had with Swat, so you'll have to just put up with that, my opinion, of course.

  10. The love plot with reviving the HoS seems a bit silly. /But/ if I'm understanding everything right, Fortune didn't actually do anything out of love herself - she used the HoS' affection for her to trick him into doing her bidding. And that story is consistent with everything Swat has said.

Yes, it's risky - but antags don't need to be the most balanced individuals, and I think it was a gambit that could be both interesting, and conductive to good roleplay (playing with trickery, deception and such).

I do not think rounds with a lot of action are necessarily a bad thing. Again, a lot of blame is being placed on Swat simply because the round ended with a lot of people dying - besides one borg getting overly excited and ganking someone (not Swat's fault), most of the people died because they were stupid in trying to fight the antagonists.

I do not want to muzzle people in their playstyles. I don't think we need to be a server where we say "no, don't fight, because fighting is for nox and goon and always turns out badly and with no RP". That is a gross misrepresentation of the quality of our rounds as a whole - and "action" rounds do foster roleplay as well. Things will always fuck up one time or another - just don't get hung up on those times, accept that they're part of a natural and very difficult to control ecosystem. (Run the same nations round twice, one will be great and the other a complete disaster for no discernable reason; this still won't convince me to stop running nations rounds.)

I'm sorry but, if the HoS fell for that, he's the worst head of security I think that's ever been on this server.

Frances I get that fighting does happen on this server, but fighting station wide? With almost NO chance of winning? That's not fighting.

And besides, what Swat SHOULD have done is Ahelp when the crew started rushing the borgs and herself, but instead they chose to gun them all down, I won't deny the crew is pretty dumb for charging a bunch of deathborgs, but regardless, they held a critical area: Medbay. To clone the HoS. A person who I still can't figure out why was cloned, because he can do almost nothing beyond help at a very basic level. Again, I never said we should never fight, but give people a fucking chance, deathborgs are almost unbeatable at this stage, so it doesn't make it fun at all for those who have to fight them. I just don't want this to become a regular trend, where action rounds are apparantly acceptable at every level, for every round. And most of all, I don't want traitor to become the new nuke, where combat is just encouraged and not berated whatsoever.

  11. -sighs tirelessly- This is in fact either really tiring me, gamegod to always explain things that i do, but i hope i wont fall down on the keyboard while i do it.

Let's see..That round for me was particularly amusing yet tactical for me. Sure you wont see it nor confirm nor do should i care, since that round is under water, but to matter at hand. She had given a heavy objective (my own) and she needed to do with any means necesary to do so, in which when ever i have given my objectives, i consider them and plan them out. And first steps were emaging and hacking the AI. Winding forward the actions to the fact when Syrus was in a standalone against three death borgs and me, i had ideas running in my head on how to turn such situation around. One of it as simple and by that i mean killing the HoS, which was done, untill later on i thought of a new tactic. Since my borgs wouldn't stand any longer (but they did, also gg wp to you guys, you were the best) i could use Syrus to manipulate him on my side. It was a risk, of course. That round? Yes, she didnt loved Syrus, because she had objective and to put feelings aside. As cold hearted and b*tchy as it may sound, she did her job.

Also i've got a question for you, since this is a really long complaint form. Is it due to my play style of what i do my things, or do you really have something against me that you just dont feel like telling me? Of course this question is out of character but im intrigued to know it.

The first bit isn't needed at all, it's downright insulting, let alone a waste of time.

You've also contradicted yourself, which leads me to believe you are making this up on the spot. You first claim it was done for love, now you claim she didn't love him, so why have him? He serves no purpose whatsoever. Make up your mind.

And I will say, I am massively opposed to the "Goon" way of playing the round, which is exactly your playstyle, which I personally believe is unsuitable for a Heavy RP server, due to the lack of RP involved. If you want to go play super agent, go to Goon. If you want to play the manipulative bitch who hides in the shadows and performs her objectives without so much of a whisper? Sure, I'm all for it.

Bottom line is: Why do it here? Why bother? Goon or Nox seems like the better place for yourself. No offense intended.

  12. Golle, that is an 'IF' situation. Sure everything can happen but what happened that time happened. Stupid form of love? People have done more dumber things in form of 'love' that you wouldn't believe and this would make it a normal situation. As for the implant? Maybe you can count on it abit of powergamey, but do not forget that Fortune also talked to Syrus when he was an HoS on extended rounds. So she has learned more or less about Syrus status and his place in NT.

    Anything else, gamegod?

The fact that it COULD have happened and she would have lost her love forever should be enough to make her think twice about doing it, unless she doesn't love him and you're lying of course.

And another thing, I don't care how ridiculous other rounds are, nor the other interaction with Syrus, because frankly it doesn't matter. She should not have taken that undoubtedly extreme risk.

You aren't giving details either, which leads me to believe there aren't any, unless you want to provide some?

  13. Alright, since the post is now at it's last straws, and you do not know the reason as to why i cloned HoS, is plain simple.

Fortune is Syrus's Setos girlfriend/future wife, and HoS had loyalty implant, which would have given her a bad time dealing with him, so, after Syrus was killed, she brought the dead body to outpost to repair the borgs with out interuption from the crew (melody being crazy and beating the window that time) I had to plan out my next moves on how to control the station better, and make a foothold at Robotics. Syrus was dead, and there was no use of him, untill after i and the three borgs arrived on the science lab, it was nearly deserted, and you were also killed in the process, i came up with another solution to revive HoS, and make him turn to my side, since Syrus trusts Fortune (IC reasons as to why Syrus trusts Fortune, you can ask him, or me when ever im online back on Aurora). Syrus could give Fortune abit more advantage, if he was lied to (which was succesfull) And he had no Loyalty implant either which gave me the oportunity to turn him against the crew, and help me with my untrue reasons which he would only know in the end game. Syrus was in doubts that is true, but he was also experiencing CMD, and the whole situation was a mess, and hell, even i would be in a 'what the f*ck' moment when i was awoken by some one i trust and sh*t is hitting the fan and makes situations complicated. He was my greatest threat, but for Fortune he was also his further husband. My reason is advantage and love. Anything else you want me to justify?

Right so you want to tell me. Fortune had her boyfriend/husband killed just so she could revive him later without an implant? That seems powergamey to me. And a stupid form of "love".

I don't know about you, but if I worked with NT for more than few years, building up a long history with them, it would take someone special to convince me to suddenly just turn against them for any reason. Pretty sure any morally sound individual would see that Fortune was doing wrong, considering innocent people were dying constantly, sometimes in front of him.

  14. I know I've brought this up before, but I'll bring it up again.

Why exactly did you clone the HoS? And JUST the HoS?

Honestly from my vantage point, and from the fact that the player who played the HoS is now defending Swat, it makes it seem like you co-ordinated OOC in order to do something like this. As it seems incredibly stupid for a HoS to turn on the company that he has in fact been hired to protect, and has no doubt been with them for a long ordeal. So could you please explain what motivated you to reanimate seemingly your greatest threat?

  15. In regards to the borgs ganking people, I feel.that's the borg players at fault as they are the ones actually murderlising people.

You seem to have completely forgotten that the borgs were created by, and are bound to Fortune. Meaning they follow her orders. So like it or not, she is responsible for their actions. Inaction is in itself an action you know. She could have very easily pulled a no kill/capture order, as ALL of then were sec borgs, being constantly repaired by Fortune herself. Meaning they had to have stayed in range of her.

  16. I'd just like to add in that when I arrived on station, R&D was actually maxed out (without materials), with the only people being there being a xenobiologist, and Fortune herself, infact she openly admitted to finishing science herself. Without that, she could have never produced the circuit board required to build an upload console without breaking into tech storage or something. Note that Fortune lacks a science skill all together.

  17. Then Jennifer walks into research, against the many warnings by crew, the AI, and Fortune herself over the radio. Did the player listen? No. Why would they do that? They walked right in, and were detained immediately, as expected, and following an exchange of words, was killed off, execution style(which admittedly, was roleplayed, but it could have been roleplayed MORE).

Warnings? I witnessed the AI be reset, in fact Jennifer was THERE when it went on (reset by the detective somehow). There was no exchange of words when I walked into R&D, I saw the borgs, and a second later was gunned down to a state where it was impossible to fight back, I did not have any form of weaponry. And instead of subduing me and taking me hostage (Which would have been FAR more intresting.) I was simply shot and beaten to death without words, only a "Sorry."

I was not detained, that is an utter falsehood.

  18. BYOND Key:Gamegod12

    Player Byond Key:Swat43

Reason for complaint: Powergames as antag, participates in borderline server grief, takes traitoring to the extreme.

I'll start off by saying I've been back to the server exactly once before posting this complaint, and it was on this round that I was randomly murdered by Fortune Bloise and her gang of rampaging borgs (all sec borgs and hacked by herself to have lasers), and the AI, which was again hacked by her after she built an upload console within robotics. Jennifer (who I was playing as) ran into science, assuming they all had gone away, was promptly gunned down by the borgs, without any words or actions to prompt this. I left for a short while only to come back to a bigger shit storm, it seems they had broken into the medbay to clone the HoS who they had also killed. Multiple clusterfucks ensured and it ended up with most of the crew injured or stuck, most of which seemed to not be security.

This sounds like a player complaint but seemingly is common across all of Swat's chars. Fortune's skills also add up to near thirty: Skill Level: Exceptional (22)

21e86638c563ee0f06b8cf7883d17b83 Shortly after having being gunned down, the one near the entrance is Jennifer

Note: Apparantly the borgs themselves were told off, but no mention was made of Swat.

  19. I work far too many hours to make a massive response to this as I originally planned.

Simply put, this is a very...very...very... small piece of our lore with nearly nihl impact on what occurs in the individual rounds. While accuracy to 'real' scientific information and theories is a very awesome thing, it also is capable of smothering creativity like no other. I can see your points 100% (for the most part) but ultimately, changing these things would do little but satisfy your desire for 'correctness' and waste time that our lore-team could be using for other, more productive things. Like getting the wiki up.

Also, Earth is NOT abandoned in our lore. It's not depopulated by people leaving. It's still -somewhat- inhabitable and is the administrative center of the Union of Sol

If Erik wants to discuss the lore on Skype with me (stellarsilence1) I'm open for that and I'll attempt to address his concerns in an appropriate way.

Dea, it's not something that has to be done here and now, it's just so you could say, put it on a "to fix" list or something like that, if errors are there, I say fix them.

  20. I do wish that starving had more penalties.

Maybe something as simple as a red "You feel your stomach rumbling!" message, like with with pain. It'd be annoying enough to prompt more eating, without causing any big IC or gameplay changes.

I would support something like this. I think this change could improve the role play.

    This and this.

Hunger should be something that isn't critical, just annoying.

I mean, hunger IRL isn't too different, you eat a sandwich when your stomach rumbles and all that.
