[Denied] - Vaurca Application, Mr.Fagetti
spacevoidagent replied to Mr.Fagetti's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
The backstory, name, and color are all lacking in depth or correctness. If you read about the Vaurca on the wiki you would see the guidelines for color and naming. First, your name indicates nothing about their type (Worker, Soldier, Breeder) , if they are Bound or Unbound, and what hive they hail from (Zo'ra or K'lax; antag Vaurca can be from Lii'dra). This is a must for Vaurca so that they can be easily identified by crew and other Vaurca. Secondly, your characters backstory just seems like a setup for your Vaurca to be a criminal and 'battle' racism on station. Most Vaurca players, including myself, enjoy the racism as it is something that is Canon and well known to be acceptable and engaging role play. I highly doubt the chance of your egg being stolen as they would be heavily guarded, and even if it did, when you hatched you would just be a husk of a Vaurca. There would be no Type C breeder to determine your role and feed you information necessary for your survival in space, nonetheless Human Space. You would lack the augmentation needed to speak Basic, let alone Gutter. To put it bluntly, your backstory just makes you look like you want to have a very special and unique Vaurca. Third, you can't just be gray. You have to choose a color corresponding to your type, hive, and bound/unbound status. I know my response may seem rude but that is not my intention. I just wanted to give clear, constructive criticism. If you want to truly play a Vaurca, I recommend you make a character that is believable and more common rather then someone who was a syndicate who was the only survivor of a attack and was spared and hired by NanoTrasen. -
[Accepted] Youbar's Head of Staff Application
spacevoidagent replied to Youbar's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I see you frequently on the servers and you are active and give meaningful input on the Forums. I can tell how much effort you put into this by the amount of information supplied to us. I haven't had much IC interaction, but I'm sure he could play the HoS role correctly given his OOC conduct. I particularly like the like and dislike sections, where you have conflicting feelings on your characters quietness. I think this is excellent Characterization. This Head of Staff application has my support. -
Firstly, Thank you for your honest and informative feedback. As per your recommendation, I spent some time editing the backstory. I touched on all points you suggested. After completing the backstory, I had added 237 words, nearly tripling the original backstory, so thank you for your recommendation there. Cheers.

BYOND Key:spacevoidagent Character Names:Brayden Striker, The Storm of Life, Richard Gronko, Lukas Mueller Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): RGB 51,0,0 Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, multiple times. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wish to play this specific race because I really enjoy alien races, especially the new Vaurca. The Vaurca are vastly different from every other species in a multitude of ways. Both Mechanically and Culturally. They have a global hive-mind, which I think is an awesome feature for a species like this. They share the ability to survive in space and resist radiation with the Dionae. They also have a special bite, and other cool mechanics. But at the expense of all these cool things, they have the negative features as well. Need filters for oxygen, do not self heal, take a ton more Toxin damage, and very vulnerable to EMP's and fire. But among the biggest, is the inability to be cloned! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: This species is very different from Humans in a variety of ways. They must eat K'ois related foods, can not self heal, and can't breathe the Station Air without a Filter bit. They must be very cautious around Toxins and Fire prone areas, so as to avoid damage. They must also avoid EMP's, something a human without prosthesis really has no worries about. They also talk differently, pronouncing 'S' as a 'Z' sound, and 'F' or 'ph' sounds with a V. This impediment can be used to enhance the Vaurcae role play. This species is also unique in that there is unbound and bound Vaurca, with the latter being the inferior of the two in Vaurcae society. The Unbound can behave like a human would, while a Bound is like a Synthetic. The Vaurca are also very limited to their job selection and are faced with severe discrimination in Human space. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Zik Zo'ra Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Born Unbound, he was raised with special care by the Bound workers of his Zo'ra hive. After his first six months after hatching, his brain was fully matured. For the next six months, information was slowly poured into his mind from the Hive. He received information about the Vaurcae, where they were from, why there were so far from home, how to speak primitive Tau Ceti Basic, and much more essential information to survive out of the Hive. After this 12 month maturing period, he was ready for whatever purpose the Hive may give him. After three months of 'Paradise' he was free to pursue his own interest, and headed out of the Hive, towards human space and an unbound future. He began his next Chapter of Life at New Mendell, Biesel. Upon arrival in Human space, he was amazed at the variety of life and technology. He was especially intrigued by Xenobotany after witnessing some of the science while touring the Botanical Gardens in New Mendell, and Robotics Research after reading about IPC's and Cyborgs. He immediately took an interest in the Science Field and so he studied for a year on multiple locations, taking his first internship on a Xenobotany lab on the planet Luthien, in the Tau Ceti system. After only two years and three months since his hatching, he was hired by NanoTrasen to work as a Lab Assistant on the research station, NSS Aurora. Zik knew how lucky he was to be chosen to work on such a station, and was naive to think the amount of pay he was offered was suitable for his line of work, because NanoTrasen was paying his human counterparts larger sums of money. Despite being an Unbound, Zik has extreme loyalty to his hive, considering he has only been out of his 'Paradise' for a little over a year; however, his loyalty should not interfere with most needs of the crew. Although he is eager to work among his new associates, he also has a feeling of apprehension. He faced a considerable amount of hate and racism while learning about the sciences, and hopes this does not carry over too much into his new workplace. What do you like about this character? I like that he is Unbound, young and eager to learn. I think playing a young, 'Green' Vaurca in Science will make for some exciting moments as he discovers new things. He will have a childish glee kind of attitude that I think many will enjoy. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7.5/10, I already have a IPC and Dionae Whitelist, still have much to improve. Notes: I know I have recently returned to Aurora, but I am very eager to interact with everyone again, and hopefully with a new Vaurca onboard.

Hey all, I think I'm one of the few players who enjoys playing the Chaplain role. I am pleased to see that the Chapel is now symmetrical, with a three tile Altar/Table. I suggested that a long, long time ago. Anyway, I would like to make playing Chaplain a more fun and engaging experience for everyone. A chaplains impact on the round often depends on three factors, being: - The Crew's interaction with the Chaplain Physically and through Communications - The Individual Effort of the Chaplain - The Involvement of Staff/Admins (Answering Prayers, Enabling the Chaplain, etc.) Unfortunately, despite the Chaplains many grave efforts to be engaged with the crew, it ends in the failure of the Chaplain. He is simply dismissed by other crew-members for being 'Annoying' or other lazy reasons, and his prayers commonly ignored. I simply wish that more players would involve themselves with the Chaplain. I also ask that the Administrative team try to work and enhance the Chaplain's role-playing experience. Undoubtedly, many prayers that an Admin receive are short, and simply ask for an item. I also ask that other Chaplains, please make your prayers more elaborate, meaningful, and role-play friendly. Now, we move onto the physical suggestions and desires I have for the Chaplain position: - I would certainly enjoy the Chaplain more if we had access to minor healing abilities. In the old days, wacking someone with a bible could heal you. I am not asking for something as rudimentary as that, but rather, a ritual or something. Using the Bible on a Cup of Holy Water perhaps turns the Holy Water into Tricordrazine or something similar. Or, the Chaplain can create a healing circle with candles, holy water, chants, etc. and pray and hope an Admin notices and gives the player a little rejuvenation. But, like stated earlier many Admins would not do this currently, so having a IC ability for the Chaplain to heal would be great. - Secondly, more duties for the Chaplain outside of Cult Rounds. One particularly exciting Idea I have is that crew that are exposed to space, whether in EVA suits or not, or just have a random experience with a spirit, have a chance of inheriting a 'Evil Space Spirit' or something. Like a demon that get's stuck in their head, simply copying the affects of Hallucinational Syndrome could have a good enough effect for the victim to seek the only option, spiritual help from the Chaplain. He can perform an exorcism or something like that to cast away the evil space spirit. This would give the Chaplain more things to do outside of the Cult Rounds. - Third, more easily accessible clothing for the Chaplain would be great. Right now we have only the dark and spooky Chaplain Robe + Hood, the Holiday Priest, and the Nun Outfit. We also get a trophy rack backpack (kinda cool for evil Chaplains) and Wedding Dress for if someone wants to get married (slim chance). More variety of robes, headpieces, etc. would greatly further the options for the Chaplain to customize his/her Religion. More varieties of the bible would be great also. - Lastly, a stone Altar that can not be removed or Altar-ed (haha.) with engravings on the sides, or encrusted with Gems (or both?). Sometimes I will enter the Chapel and all my chairs and table will be gone. This makes me sad. Who dares steal from the church?! Having a fancy altar would look great for Ceremonies and furthering the role-play experience. Thank you all for reading this far, as you can tell I am passionate about the Chaplain role, and would love for it to be more accepted and loved by crew-members. A Chaplains shift depends nearly entirely on his/her involvement with the crew, and their response, so I ask all players to interact more fairly so the Chaplain can enjoy the round too. I also ask that any Admins reading this, please attempt to be a little more interactive with the Chaplain besides giving him the best cookie (I haven't even gotten that in a while.) I hope my suggestions are considered by our awesome development crew, and will be looking forward to the communities feedback to this Topic. Thanks again for reading all of this!

Sounds fair to me. When will the ban be lifted? -
spacevoidagents NEW Unban Request
spacevoidagent replied to spacevoidagent's topic in Unban Requests Archive
I learned that I should have stopped making all that noise when I was asked by other players and Staff. I went too far with all my joking and remarks, and I apologize for that. I am sure nobody will acknowledge me the same as before the Ban, but I accept that consequence. I changed in that I won't talk about any topics relating to my ban unless it is relating IC or I feel the absolute need for me to contribute OOC/on the Forums. I am confident that the problems I caused in the past will not arise again. I will keep my OOC chatting to a minimum, most will know I'm not even there, unless they know my Characters. -
spacevoidagents NEW Unban Request
spacevoidagent replied to spacevoidagent's topic in Unban Requests Archive
Got an admin from baystation? No, like I mentioned I haven't played since the Ban was implemented. I had forgotten that offer you quoted. I just started playing again this evening, currently on Polaris. -
BYOND Key: spacevoidagent Total Ban Length: Permanent Banning staff member's Key: SoundScopes Reason of Ban: Reason: Violating the "Don't be a dick rule" by purposely trying to get people annoyed and responding in a complaint about them with pictures and generally treating everything like a joke. This is a permanent ban. Reason of Appeal: Hey guys, im sure some of you remember me, for reasons im sorry for, no less. I wish to be unbanned so I can enjoy playing Space Station 13 again on Aurora Station. It has been a very long time since the ban, I want to say around a year. After I was banned I stopped playing. Well, now that im back (and back to my normal self) I want to be unbanned. During the time period that I was causing a lot of my trouble, I really have no excuse for it. I wasn't like myself, I just got caught up in all the Tajaran-racism-shitstorm and Nazi stuff, and I want to apologize for that. I want to come back to Aurora, and play my Characters again with everyone else. I miss my Dionae, and my Humans, and I miss the playerbase too. Please consider unbanning me, I am truly sorry for my previous actions. Best Regards, spacevoidagent

spacevoidagents Unban Request
spacevoidagent replied to spacevoidagent's topic in Unban Requests Archive
No I think it is the server for me. I've had great rounds here, and I sure others have good memories of my characters. All of my warnings I have questioned because I don't think they are that critical to add up to a permanent ban. The only notice of self antagging that I recall was the bomb threat, but even that was borderline. So I find it hard to believe half of my notes are self antag related. Yes I admit to OOC shitposting, but comeon, it's all fun. People getting offended too easily are the problem. Of you can't handle someone joking about catbeasts and you can't notice the trolling and sarcasm involved, you should learn. The only thing that could be seemed actually offensive was the whole Waffen SS, Songs, and Speaking German incident that happened a while ago. That whole thing was a mess and got out of hand anyway. -
BYOND Key: spacevoidagent Total Ban Length: Permanent Banning staff member's Key: SoundScopes Reason of Ban: Reason: Violating the "Don't be a dick rule" by purposely trying to get people annoyed and responding in a complaint about them with pictures and generally treating everything like a joke. This is a permanent ban. Reason for Appeal: I think I should be unbanned because its all a joke. I was never formally warned by administration to stop my OOC arguments, and its all shitposting anyway. Yes its true I don't like Tajaran, but im not that big of a dick in IC. I had one round but it was so terrible I told myself never do it again. Unfortunately, some people apparently get offended when I call their 2D cats names in shitposts and post hilarious multicolor flashing big-ass messages. I think everyone is taking this too seriously. Honestly, its a game. I apologize for any feels I may have damaged in my shitposting and hope you never get offended again in your entire life. On a more serious note, I don't think im 'Toxic' to the community, and my degree of shitposting is funny and humorous to some. Im a good Roleplayer, possessing two Alien Whitelists, and a few semi reputable characters. The reason for the Nazi thing is a reference to the great event that was me getting banned for talking about Nazis and me getting called a metric fuckton of names including skinhead and racist nazi bastard. It is purely satirical. I posted one picture reply to the recent complaint against me and was banned and the thread locked befoer I could actually respond with some real answers. TL;DR: Im sorry, its all fun and games. Won't call cats names excessively in OOC, unban pls.

Whenever I play Janitor I ask the HoP to rename my job title to this. They usually say no.
