Darthveamon Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Hello! An idea I've had for a long time now is for a machine in the game to produce new clothes, essentially anything under the obj/item/clothing path(with the exception of glasses, biosuits, hardsuits, armor, etc) for people who want them. It could be placed in the Cargo Bay and have a similar function as the autolathe in Cargo. What do you think?
incognitojesus Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 This actually already exists, I believe. Just not on the map. Then again, it's a vending machine, so doesn't exactly fabricate (hue, puns), but it dispenses.
Blue Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Depends on what kind of clothes we're talking about. Alternative jumpsuits? I'm cool. Maybe shirts and jeans?
Guest Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 An idea like this was mentioned once before on our old forums. Here it is for reference. http://auroraserver.freeforums.net/thread/1571/custom-clothing
incognitojesus Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I'm all for individuality, but it's a workplace. Workplaces tend to have a uniform that promotes company pride and allows for easier identification. Now, in a workplace, people tend to put their own flair on their uniforms. Anything from wearing a hat or their own boots or something. There's nothing wrong with that, but people need to remember that Aurororororora is still a workplace.

Custom items can go a long way in making yourself look different, but if you want something that's available every shift that can still make an engineer look like an engineer, I'm down with that.
