Thundy Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 Cat lore says that humans can learn and speak (poorly) Sik'maas. So it shall stay. I see no reason to change it. Japanese being a difficult language with a stupid amount of characters and being read inverted of English doesn't and hasn't stopped people from learning to read and write and speak it. Sue, from what I understand, accepts people who make cat whitelists. Could not sue also be the one to accept cat language whitelists also?

The Uralic language tree is quite distinct from any other language tree, and shares virtually no linguistic similarities to english, yet there are plenty of bilingual finns, and English-speaking people who learn finnish. If the lot of you can actually prove to me that people will be responsible with the privilege to speak cat despite not being a cat, then I'll kneel down, spit-shine and polish your shoes, beg for forgiveness, and step out of your way. It's not you or any other person I personally do trust with this, it's the people that unforeseeably be drawn into it and think that, oh, this one person was trusted to speak cat, so why not me and everyone else? Not everyone should be able to speak cat, is all. I'd say, alright, this person needs the Tajaran whitelist, and a separate whitelist to speak a condensed form of Siik'Maas as well.

Some time back on bay it was handled on a per-character basis. That worked rather well.
