A History of the Horizon – 2468 Edition

Preword

The cat is out of the bag. The Horizon's days are limited, though it will persist through 2468 at the very least. As Anabasis lurks beyond the Horizon, it is no time for the excitement to end!

Everything below is CANON, and is roughly chronological. I have avoided exact dates because finding them would take a lot more work, but if people are intrested I can find them (or you can too with correct diggin in DIscord)

 

January

Minor: An outside force attempts to hack the Horizon's networks, and manages to get a single message through before the system rejects them.

Odyssey: The Horizon takes on supplies for it's mission ahead. Little do they know, one of the Orion workers has plotted sabotage for them. Caught out, but not before some of the suppliers are destroyed or hidden, the Horizon gets a clue as to who would lay such sabotage for them...

Horizon Movement: The Horizon leaves Tau Ceti for Valley Hale.

Event: On the border between Biesel and Elyra, the Horizon picks up a distress signal from a Dominian ship which has passed through a meteor field. Upon picking up the crew, an Elyran corvette demands the Dominian ship and crew be handed over to them, accusing them of been spies. After some tense negotiations, the Horizon retains the crew, though the Elyrans search the Dominian ship and find a encrypted data disk before destroying the ship and leaving.

 

Feburary

Mini Event: A stranger comes aboard the Horizon bearing gifts. Solid phoron coins are paired with questions and promises. Later revealed to be a wanted fugitive, they leave the Horizon via escape pod, but not before causing a major network crash. Pursuit of the escape pod comes to naught after it is picked up by a warp equipped ship.

Event: A trio of Tajara refugees come aboard seeking food and medical help. Little does the Horizon know, these are the Raskariim behind a recent theft. As the NPD arrives to capture the cultists, their desperation leads to blood. Ultimately, the cultists are killed or captured and the NPD leave with them and the stolen codex. Major PRA victory.

Horizon Movement: The Horizon leaves Valley Hale for the Weeping Stars.

Mini Event: A new stranger appears, placing propaganda, banners and more around the Horizon over several weeks. Caught out, they are confront by Security, but make a clean get away after pulling a gun. No shuttle or escape pod leaves the Horizon, leaving the crew to wonder if this is over yet...

Event: A valentine's dinner also sees a visit from a dignitary of the Republic of Assunzione, to ceremonially grant the Horizon permission to enter the Lemurian Sea. The proceedings are cut short with news of an attack on an Elyran supertanker. Security tussels with unruly crew, and later on the return of the new stranger, who once again makes a clean get away.
