Aetherscald Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 In my experience as a Xenobiologist, generally people let the slimes pile up on the operating table and never really get around to harvesting the cores unless it's a specific slime that they wanted to breed or they need grey cores. Also if there are two xenobiologists, neither of them usually want to be stuck doing repetitive harvesting at all. Also the piles of dead monkeys bring to question hygiene and disease in an RP sense (maybe also an in-game sense, I don't know if you guys coded the game to make dead monkeys cause disease if left out too long) which is why I suggest putting recycler machines in the game that allow you to basically stuff a slime/monkey into its respective machine and out pops a cube or core. It'd make soloing Xenobio less tedious and also there would finally be a point to having a bunch of dead monkeys lying around, rather than shooting them out the airlock or giving them to the chef.
Guest Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I'm surprised we don't actually have these. Xenobiology is awfully slow and terribly boring cutting up slimes one by one. The 'but roleplaying' excuse doesn't work when you're the only one in xenobiology to do slime things to begin with. Not much really gets slapped onto your operating table.

Almost no one save for the Research Director and the med team that comes to rescue you from your brood will ever see how the process goes and even then no one really cares. If anything it makes Xenobiology more doable and interactive since they'll be able to generate their cores and implement them in unique and interesting ways. Like a traitor xenobiologist could finally be arsed to use pepper spray and emp cores if he wants to. The possibilities open up in a whole new way. Hopefully this is considered for the new map at the very least.
