Lady_of_Ravens Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Pretty much what it sounds like: let people who press "observe" from the lobby join as mice/drones without delay.
Baka Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 there was a group of people on some other server that would join, mouse, and ghost. they would litter the hallways with braindead mice, and essentially was a problem that they did this constantly. that's why the delay was put into place
Lady_of_Ravens Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 I hadn't realized. Never mind then.

Guest Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 The delay for mice is five minutes the delay for drones is 10. Drones have a 10 minute delay before any drones are allowed on station (The machines are literally turned off) and considering we still have rogue drones from time to time the 10 minute delay lets us catch them if they try to body swap to cause hassle. The body swap goes like this. Person griefs, ghosts, becomes mouse, ghosts, becomes mouse, ghosts, and so on. This causes a problem when trying to ban them and has been the cause of multiple accidental bans on players who haven't done anything as the game chooses a random person to ban if the client is null (Or at least used to the SQL system might detect an invalid ban properly again)

I'm not suggesting removing the delays between ghosting and spawning as a mouse/drone, just the ones between joining as an observer and spawning as a mouse/drone.
