Killerhurtz' Loredev application

Ckey/BYOND Username: Killerhurtz

Position Being Applied For: Lore writer / wiki editor

Past Experiences/Knowledge: I know how to edit a wiki, and I have good knowledge of existing IPC lore and mechanics (and really really care about them).

Examples of Past Work: Wiki-wise I set up a sandbox wiki where I'll be writing things. Lore-wise? Does this and this count? What about this discussion?

Preferred Mode of Communication: Right now, PM and Steam (name is "finallygotportal" without quotations)

Additional Comments: I expect nothing, but would be willing and capable of putting one hour a weekday, most days (weekends, all bets are off - probably will spend 90% of the time I spend dead ingame to do it). Probably more.

Ohh, hey. Just noticed this. I guess, if I had a right to vote on this I would support your app. You've showed to be diligent and passionate writer, as well as a active community member. Keeping the two qualities is probably the biggest challange a writer faces as interest for your work is always bound to dissapear, and you aren't exactly payed by the hour.

As for the IPC Lore, Jack currently has that covered. I guess examples of your work (if you have any) are appriciated as well. This is moreso advice than anything else.

Well for reference, if it counts, there's the whole Resomi lore tweak and discussion from that post on

Otherwise I guess I'll need to start writing examples. Possibly with that suggestion I made to put something forward to eliminate as much handwave as possible. I'll get started tonight. Though since Jack got the IPC part handled, I guess I'll edit to reflect a more general application...

(Also, Bokaza - while I fully understand your worry, I have this to say: there's three four parts to this application: a passion for science, a passion for accuracy and a massive interest in this amazing community and a surprisingly large amount of time that can be used to write things. So I'm fairly sure my interest is going to last for a pretty useful amount of time :3)

Wow geeze, it's been a month since this has been opened. It's pretty unacceptable that I let it go this long and I apologize. In the future, it's a good idea to send me PM's if something lore-related is sitting neglected for awhile. I frequently click "mark all forums as read" so I can miss things in this subforum.

Since the last openings were filled, there have been adjustments to what's currently needed.

My primary concern is more editors. There's a lot to the wiki and to the lore, and we need to be able to overview what we have, and decide what parts need to be overhauled, edited, finalized, etc.

Have you had any experience in writing workshops, or as an editor, or anything like that?

Check the OP, I've updated it with a link to my sandbox wiki. So I have editing experience. Though you'll have to define workshops - like guides?

But yeah I'm definitely open to be an editor.

Workshops are like writing or creative workshops offered in colleges, where you get a little bit of formal teachings in writing and stuff like that.

I'm glad to accept you to the team, because you still seem interested despite being totally ignored for a month (sorry again) and look like you have a genuine interest in the developments of the lore and wiki development.
