Guest
Okay, so I have a few ideas, that are basically unrelated to one another. 1. Give the Warden a box of spare headsets with only general communications access. I know there has been times when I warden, that I must remove a prisoners headset, because they have been demoted, and are in for an extended sentence, and can no longer have the right to the private channel, taking out the keys is just an annoying task, and running to the dorms lockers is just a waste of time. 2. Scanning Goggle improvements. They are literally useless as is, and apparently they are locked to only science staff. My suggestion is this, make it so that when you wear them, if you examine an item that can go into the destructive analyzer, that it tells you the research level you'd get from that. I have no idea how difficult this would be to implement, but as is, the goggles are pointless. 3. Give the Head of Personnel a Security Newscaster. The main features of a Sec Newscaster are basically redacting posts and issuing NanoTrasen D-Notices. I consider the News Network mostly under the HoP's purview, and I find it funny they don't have any way to moderate it. If this is implemented, I'd recommend renaming it from a Security Newscaster to an Administrators Newscaster. 4. Give Security Officers the alt-title of Security Guard, I find calling them Officers weird, since in reality, they are just a private security force, almost like better armed mall cops. And they aren't really officers of the Sol Union or Tau Ceti... And adding an Alt title wouldn't be too difficult 5. Do something about RnD and weapons manufacturing. I don't know why this was even removed in the first place, but LOCKBOXES. Whenever there is a gamemode like Nuke or even blob random event, Research and Development suddenly become gun experts. One Nuke Round, an RD armed their entire department with weapons that were above Security's in grade and power, without actually retrieving permission, merely because the station was under attack, I understand that they need to 'test' these weapons, but can we atleast have a rule against them arming all of science. This also goes for Roboticists who like to take out Gygax and Durands for rides around the station. Link to comment
Tenenza
In regards to #5. If peoples are doing that, then that RD is very stupid for two points. Firstly, it's a security threat, because firing weapons in testing conditions and firing in actual combat is very different, and Scientists should not be expected to have actual combat training, so they're more then likely to kill people then save people. Second point, RD doesn't need weapons. Research has a lockdown button, that blastshields every possible entrance to the department. Second point is, a good RD doesn't need weapons. A stack of 50 metal, that's all you need. Nuke Ops won't stand a chance. Link to comment
Guest
Okay, so I have a few ideas, that are basically unrelated to one another. Then they should of had separate threads. 1. Taking an encription key is screwdrive and click, pick up the standard a put in. Getting a new headset, walk to a bog get it out, swap the headsets with the person and then find a place to put the old one (would probably end up just being left in the hall or a locker rather going to the HoP) 2. Sounds powergamey an would let people rush to high tech rather than you know, sciance. 3. They should of had one already 4. Guard is more fitting and should take away the assumption of 'I am the law' we have with some people. 5. So far since the vigilante RD's we have placed the LawGiver in a lock-box. Why just the lawgiver. It's not listed as a prototype weapon, it is OP in my eyes. There is no reason R&D should make one without asking the Warden or HoS. Preferably the HoS. Link to comment

If you could lock this or delete it, I'd be more than happy to make two seperate topics for #4 and #3. Link to comment
Guest
Probably don't need to make a thread for #3 as I think that is just a mapping bug from when we changed security over. They had no newscasters or request consoles for a while. #2 Although that idea sound op to me, the goggles still could do something like scanning an object and seeing if would be any use without giving away exactly what you would get. 4# Yeah, I like the change suggestion. Feel free to create threads for any of the ideas you have posted. Link to comment
