Recommended Posts

BYOND Key: Toska

Character Names: Tiberei Reik, Sahi Uar, Sioz Leksaruk, Chlo Qon’ue, Pip Baer.

Species you are applying to play: Tajara.

What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Bistre (61, 43, 31) or Charcoal grey (54, 69, 79).

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race:

My initial draw was really the people on the server who have Tajara characters. Seeing them interact as well as reading the way they react to situations has really drawn my attention to them. I finally decided to read through the lore and I was pleasantly surprised. There is a lot that has been going on that can make for an interesting backstory, especially in current events. Perhaps one of my biggest draws are the religions and tight-knit communities that the lower-middle class have.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

Unlike most humans, Tajara are very loyal to one another. This is especially true of those who worship S'rand'marr, where betraying your peers is heavily looked down upon. They are more religiously influenced, hold very strong beliefs, and although humans have had racial segregation it is still fairly prevalent in modern Adhomai. Where most humans get along on the station, there would be tensions between the different Tajara ethnicities (especially if a Njarir'Akhran is present). These few differences alone make playing Tajara a fairly different experience to that of a human. Mechanically they do not handle the heat as well, use their claws when fighting, and can see in the dark better than humans can. Their fur helps insulate them better from the cold and as such they are not as heavily affected by it as the other races.

Character Name: Tsezar Kondrati

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

Tsezar is the middle child of three, born on December 17th of 2431 in a Zhan-Khazan village. His younger twin, Ra’amiz, was born several hours later while his older sister, Sihir, was born 2 years prior. None of them were old enough to remember the first uprising, let alone the end of it, though their father had told them many tales of the devastation. Their village, located in the mountains just outside Trizar, had seen many casualties which included two older siblings they never got to meet. Their father ,M’har, taught the boys everything he could and both followed in his footsteps as loggers once they were of age. Tsezar, idolizing his father, gladly took up the family profession. In his eyes his father was strong, jovial, and above all infallible, emulating all the qualities of Mata’ke that he himself wished to possess.

Tsezar was but a year old when the Hadii clan took the Presidency and in turn the Republic was all that he knew growing up. When word spread of Rhagrrhuzau’s assassination he was just as shocked as the rest. He was 19, only a few years into his ‘adult’ life, and suddenly he and his family were at risk of new, punishing laws and they lived in fear of retribution as friends and neighbors fell to Malik Hadii’s anger. This fear became a reality for them when their father, a victim of circumstance, was falsely accused of a petty theft. The actual culprit managed to escape and in the chaos the shopkeep was quick to pick M’har out as the guilty party. Judgement was cast quicky and he was to be made an example of as he was hung. This infuriated Tsezar as he watched silently from the crowd with clenched fists and tears in his eyes. There was nothing he could do to save his father.

With the passing of his father Tsezar became the head of his family. The death weighed heavy on his shoulders and a deep-seated hate for The Party began to grow within him. The Liberation Army did little to inspire his loyalty as occasional raids drove him and his family deeper into Republic territory. Job opportunities were more abundant within the larger cities and it wasn’t long before Tsezar and his brother were sold off to Nanotransen. They were separated, to Tsezar’s dismay, and he drifted from station to station undertaking roles that he’d trained for within the Nal’tor college of Career excellence and eventually ending up on the Arora station within Tau Ceti.

What do you like about this character?

I think what I enjoy most are the hardships and how they have changed him. He goes from this amiable sort of guy to someone who has closed themselves off from anyone outside of his immediate family, but instead of acting out his anger violently he keeps his head down for his family’s sake. I also like that Tsezar never stops being a “daddy’s boy” and even after his father’s death he strives to be as great he was.

How would you rate your role-playing ability?

I’d confidently rate myself around 7 to 8 out of 10. There is always room for improvement.

Notes:

Always looking for feedback! Some things I was uncertain with, so if I’ve misunderstood some part of the lore or was a bit fuzzy on something feel free to let me know!

I've seen a few of your characters out and about, and I have been eavesdropping on some of your interactions. I like the way you behave and work with other people's characters, so I'd say a Tajaran more wouldn't hurt. :D +1 from me.

Thank you so much, it's really nice to hear! c:

Hello! Sorry for the delay. You follow the lore of the species very well with a character who is very in tune with the circumstances forced on him by his upbringing and environment, making a strong character. I will be happy to accept this application!
