  1. I'm still working on getting people to actually look at the page.
  2. BYOND key: AEWorthy Character names: John Worthy, Karsten Worthy, Edward Worthy How long have you been playing on Aurora?: A few days recently, but the total number of days that I have been on the server is probably around 60 days. I first came to the server about a year ago, but took a long break before returning now. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: To make the server more fun for me, and everyone else. Recently I have seen a lack of department heads online when I get on, and I would like to see those roles filled. I believe that I am a good candidate to fill one of those roles. Why did you come to Aurora?: Because you title says "Heavy Roleplay." If I want to just screw around, I'll get on pretty much any other server but this one. I respect the no-nonsense approach that you guys take to keep this server free of grief, yet still enjoyable. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes! Without the wiki, it is nearly impossible for anyone to be a competent head of staff. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is the act of becoming someone that you aren't, or someone that you could never realistically be. It is when someone leaves his or her own life to pursue the life another, and achieve that which is in the deepest parts of the imagination. A more important question is what roleplay is NOT. Roleplay is NOT being the superhero or villain, it is being the janitor or pencil-pusher; roleplay is NOT always killing, it is sparing the lives of others and empathizing with how they feel; and, finally, roleplay is NOT about having fun yourself, but it is ensuring that everyone around you is enjoying themselves and your character (while having fun at the same time ). What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Heads of Staff are the oil in the machine of the server. They keep the station running smoothly in order to promote an environment suitable for roleplay that is fun for everyone. The ultimate goal of a Head of Staff is not to keep the station in line, but to keep the spirit of roleplay alive. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The same as the responsibilities that all players should strive to uphold. Every player, whitelisted or not, should help one another and work together to have a great time. I suppose that whitelisted players (even players who are experienced) should also help their novice peers to learn the complicated, and sometimes frustrating mechanics of Space Station 13. I will strive, like I always have, to uphold these responsibilities. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: John Worthy Character age: 53 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): During his young life, John was outcast by all of the kids from his home planet Isis, and even his own parents. To spite his childhood peers and his parents, John decided to make something of himself. Though he was only 12, John decided that enough was enough, and he stowed aboard a Vox trader group's vessel with the small supply of oxygen that he could find. The Vox took him in, thinking that they could get some money out of him. Later the Vox traders decided he had cost them too much time to be worth keeping and they abandoned John at a small transportation and trading company. The company's owner gave John work as an errand-runner and eventually a manager, and paid him with a place to stay, warm food, a tutor to teach him, and even a little allowance money. After working for 13 years, John had earned enough money to go to Tau Ceti and seek his fortune. At age 26, John was old enough to apply to Nanotrasen, but the only job available was the bartender position. Eventually, after many years of bar-tending and late night studying, John was able to get his Masters degree in Psychology and be promoted the Head of Personnel--- a position similar to the work he did at the trading company, only on a larger scale. What do you like about this character?: I like John's determination to succeed. Through all of his hardships, he put his mind to being the best that he could be, and now has made something of himself. His past has made him both a tough and kind person who can be stern enough to deal with drunkards on a late night at the bar, yet also have the humility and compassion to walk them home. What do you dislike about this character?: Sometimes his will is overpowering and he can get a bit carried away. Also, since he has had so much managerial experience, John tends to like bureaucracy and giving out paperwork for others to sign. This can be annoying to others while John is amused. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: John has the experience and dedication to be a Head of Staff. While he is tough on others, John also knows what it is like to be an outcast and would never wish that on anyone. So, while tough, John has the empathy to deal with others in a way only a Head of Staff could. The traits He possesses make him an excellent candidate to be a Head of Personnel. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 9/10: No one is perfect, and there are times that I want to play a less serious character and have a bit of (roleplayed) fun (Though obviously not while being a high-level crew member). If I have the urge to do something stupid, I will go to another server . Extra notes: Thank you for the time taken to read over this long application! Please leave some feedback if it's not up to par.
  3. I understand this, but I was killing IC. I was revolting and attacking security IC. I don't understand how I was breaking the rules. I continued to RP even after the reveal and was still banned. I was never warned that fighting after the round was against the rules even when it is RPed.
  4. BYOND Key: AEWorthy Total Ban Length: 3 days Banning staff member's Key: lessick Reason of Ban: "End of round grief" Reason for Appeal: As the round was over (we docked at "home") I began a violent revolt and attacked a few people. As I was an antagonist I am confused at how this is a bannable offence. Throughout the round I was rping and not making anyone's gameplay unfun; I even asked the admin before doing anything during the round. I began to get bored of the peaceful protests and rped a more violent revolt; I decided at the end of the round to have a bit of fun since the round was ending. I jumped out of the escape pod and attacked 2 security guards with an energy sword. I was only trying to have a bit of fun; but I apologize if this offended or upset anyone. I do ask that a moderator clarify to me the reason for the ban so that I do not make the same offence in the future.
