  1. close the complaint then ... it is turning out exactly as i expected. admins will be admins. kinda like real world police ... they stick together and none are ever held accountable. (probably ad hominem) i went through the proper channels, i mutated myself (with no pain... at all ... at least not so far as game mechanics go) mostly becasue i had been in medbay about 12 times in 3 days playing xenobiologist ... can you imagine ... a dude trying not to get killed in his dept... i guess wearing a hardsuit in space is OP self antaging since you weren't born with it on. being a slime person > getting eaten by slimes and as stated there IS NO hard and fast rule about not sliming oneself on this server ... still waiting for someone to point me to it if there is. i've asked in and out of game about 50 times now. everything that has been pointed to me has been nothing but opinion and interpretation. so i recommend you add it to the wiki if it means that much to you that you feel the need to ruin someone's round over it. especially with 10 alien species freely walking the halls of the station ... it's beyond ludicrous, especially given that you gain no abilities besides slime immunity. i literally passed a geneticist with super powers the other day and no one gave a single shit. he "had the captain's permission" so i guess his job required him to have super powers? yet when i got the captain's permission i got hostility from the HOS. i was ignored and assaulted ... but hey ... that's all IC i guess... my problem is when i AHelp (pretty much anything) i get a real "fuck you" vibe from anyone who answers. and if you cannot point out an actual rule i broke then you have 0 business giving e a warning. but as i said earlier ... close the ticket ... i knew the result before i filled it out.
  2. so, then your assertion is that i should have read every thread and every reply to know this rule?
  3. i was playing a 3 hour round as a xenobiologist, the entire xenobio section of the aurora wiki is BLANK... i read the bay 12 wiki for a guide, and though it says that to borgs and the AI a slime person is not strictly human anymore it makes no mention of it being illegal. i used a green slime extract after i was given permission from the captain to experiment on myself, and i took the extract to medbay who oversaw my transformation at the end of the round i was accosted by security and cuffed and dumped back in my lab after my id was taken... an ahelp to Aboshehab resulted in ME being warned about breaking a rule by 'self antaging' despite no such rule existing on the aurora wiki, even though i did everything correctly as far as i saw or had access to. i have had multiple encounters with Aboshehab, i believe when he is playing a hostile character that i have IC issues with (conjecture on my part) and it is safe to say we do not get along. i feel the situation was handled completely incorrectly, and if there is a link to the rule i would love to see it ... i was not provided with a link to that rule after about 15 requests to Aboshehab because he was unable to find it, even though he expected me to know it. security is overly aggressive on aurora as many people know and rather than warn them about overly hostile behavior, he jumped my case instead.
  4. BYOND key: ActualDracula Character names: Traunt Higgins Griffe McKraken Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Growing bored with current science roles. (pretty much the only dept. I like playing, aside from miner) Why did you come to Aurora?: I've been playing on Aurora for a few years off and on, having previously hosted my own unsuccessful server, this is the closest to the ruleset I had implemented myself. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yeppers. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Adding atmosphere to what can otherwise be a dull round. Allowing all players a chance to participate in the events of the round, and the goings on of the station. In the case of the antag, to allow your opponents the chance to rise to your challenge, and vice versa, to allow the antage an opportunity to assuage your suspicions when many rounds of experience have prematurely informed you the situation. To add an element of realism to a flat 2d top down game. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To guide your staff toward the completion of their goals while maintaining the flavor of your department. To involve other departments in the events of the round through the other heads of staff. To keep the captain and other heads informed of status so they can make educated decisions to keep the station in one piece and keep gameplay fun for their staff as well. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: To keep the game on track, to limit the round-ruining antics of some non-antag players, and to maintain the spirit of the game despite the meta knowledge you may possess. the goal is not to win, but to have a worthwhile experience during each match. We all only have so much free time, and it is unfortunate when the round devolves into chaos. (unless it is supposed to) Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Traunt Higgins Character age: 38 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Traunt is a somewhat competent scientist, who prefers to focus on research and development; though he often gets bored and/or lonely and will take to wandering the station. Though, somewhat ironically he hates sharing his workspace. Traunt showed an aptitude for science early in life and was often touted by his peers, though he seems to have fallen a bit short of his potential. Single and childless at 38 he assumed the good times of his youth you simply continue into adulthood without the burden of a wife or child to weigh him down, the freedom to transfer from station to station without excess baggage. However, in reality, he has only seen his friends disappear one by one to familial responsibilities while he himself has ever more unfilled free time. Traunt has grown somewhat resentful of nanotrasen for passing him over for promotion several times and has begun treating his job as something of a chore, his lackluster performance is both a product and result of what he sees as his frequent slights from the heads of staff he has worked under. Though moderately productive and not at all troublesome, he does not really enjoy his work, and has lost much of the zest he had in his youth. What do you like about this character?: He's easy to play becasue he keeps mostly to himself, He has plenty of time to interact with the few characters that my need something from research, and he has access to lots of gadgets when things get messy. What do you dislike about this character?: He's doesn't have much to do, research is fairly easy. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 7/10, I'm perfectly capable of roleplaying well, however I don't get overly flowery or interested in the deep RP of players who exude excessive detail in every action they take. I like nice light RP. Extra notes: I played fairly regularly in the past and feel like I might play more now if I had more to do. i've seen most everything and management of staff is about all I have left to explore.
