Banning staff member's Key: Sonicgotnuked, supposedly Reason of Ban: I play the psychologist, and occasionally I wouldn't get my role as psychologist - I was forced to play a visitor, and personally, that wasn't what I really wanted to do. So, at the round start, like many others who didn't get the occupation they wanted, they go to the cryopods to ghost. While there were two occasions where I needed to leave as psychologist due to the fact that IRL situations happened where I was needed, I tend to ahelp admins beforehand to prevent this very sort of thing. Another reason is because I did not play changeling correctly, and I killed a Detective too early, even though we were very short on time, and we had roleplayed prior beforehand. I'm not gonna worry about that though because I actually do kind of agree with the admins while also slightly disagreeing. I do believe I should've fleshed it out more, but I think the lengths they went to fix the situation was unnecessary and made it kinda awkward. Also, I realized how bad taste it is to do this as a psychologist - At first I didn't, because I didn't realize the importance, but I realized the psychologist is needed to clone people, and once players die, they can't be cloned, which is not fun for anybody. I realized how bad taste it is, and I'll be disabling antag on my psychologist character, and rather instead do antag on a more expendable character. Reason for Appeal: The reason I believe I should be unbanned is because for the Cryopods, at first when I dc'd, I always asked admins in ahelp if I could cryo, and they always stated "Yes." or "You don't need to ahelp to cryo." So, I took their word for it, and any time I wanted to cryo, I did so. Eventually, this got me a bad rep as I was considered "Cryos when doesn't get antag," which is false. I have stayed for many rounds where I was not an antag, and roleplayed with people. I have had a great time, because HRP is great. However, you're probably wondering why I'm not just content with HRP then - The reason being is because HRP can get a bit stale sometimes, and antagonist is great for spicing it up every now and then. Another reason I should be unbanned is because the antag banned related to the warning about the changeling scenario I got with the detective. First off, I do want to apologize for that. While I disagree with some aspects, I do agree with most of it. I fucked up, and I faced the consequences of a warning. But banning me from antag when I wasn't even on the server to try and defend myself, or at the very least, receive an explanation from the banning admin while in game, and rather an admin who didn't even ban me and was clueless, was a bit messed up. I didn't even know I was banned until I received a wizard role, and they had to revoke it from me round start. Like, that's just messed up. Finally, I do realize the error of my ways, especially while playing the psychologist. The psychologist is an important crewmember role to the ship, vital to saving lives, and keeping players in the game, and I failed to realize that, and ultimately, faced the consequences. If I am unbanned, I will disable antag on the psychologist, and instead enable antag on a different, more expendable occupation. PS - While I'm here, I was jobbanned from cargo for something I did late 2017 (i believe,) and I'd like to be unbanned for that. Honestly, don't even remember what I did to receive that jobban. I also waited around two weeks or so before posting a ban appeal, just to cool off, take my mind off things, and since I really did fuck up, face a consequence. Thanks.

Well mainly because what happened at the time was a little bit about urgency really. The other times was genuinely me just being a shitter about it, and I will admit that. But the last time was genuinely an urgent thing. I probably should have informed an administrator first, or something similar to that. Keep in mind this was all a year and a half ago, so I like to believe I did genuinely change a bit. So, with that in mind, I will be taking steps to prevent this in the future such as not readying up unless I'm 100% certain I can stay for a large majority of the round, or if I gotta go urgent, I'll ask for the OK from an admin. Regardless, what I did at the time, I'm sorry if it had an impact on the server.

BYOND Key: Listendudeiwannadie Total Ban Length: Indefinite Banning staff member's Key: Datberry Reason of Ban: "Logging out roundstate because you didn't get antag" Reason for Appeal: Not true, also it was over a year ago. So, a year and five months ago, I disconnected on a round start. I was then banned because "I disconnected for antag." This wasn't true. A lot has simply happened, and I don't remember the specifics of why I disconnected that day as it was literally over a year ago. Regardless, after that day, I took a fairly long hiatus from space station 13, occasionally returning here and there. I'd like to return to Aurora Station, and I ask politely for an admins blessing to be unbanned so I can rejoin this wonderful server. I can tell you right now though, I did not simply join, then immediately disconnect simply because I didn't get antag. I really love Aurora, I love heavy roleplaying servers, and I'd love to be apart of it all again. It's just at the time, something popped up, and I had to DC. I tried to rejoin one day, saw I was banned, and wanted to take that opportunity to reflect and just take a break for a bit. I did just that, and I believe I'm ready to rejoin, and I hope you will give me that chance. Thanks.

I do see your point and completely understand where you are coming from, but I also do believe me saying "If I wasn't informed, I can't really know" still stands. If it was just put like that through an Admin PM instead of a ban, it would've had a bigger impact on me and it would've been a much easier and simpler explanation. Regardless, I do indeed understand where you come from, and I'll try to keep the leaving on roundstarts to a minimum. I'll make sure to at least stick around for thirty minutes and get something set up such as the supermatter engine or do something productive if I do indeed change my mind because I mostly play engineer. However, I am sorry for doing this because I didn't think it'd be such a big deal.

While it may seem like I do it to get antag, I really don't care whether I get antag or not (despite enjoying it) because I'm actually awful at it, and can barely think of a gimmick. However I do notice I get it quite a lot, and when I do get it, I usually make an excuse not to go sleep or take a nap and say "fuck it I'll stick around i guess." It's more about being exhausted on why I leave on startup, but there are rounds I will stay when I'm not antag. Believe me, I'm not THAT concerned about getting antag, despite enjoying it. Regardless, the SSD and not using cryosleep thing are understandable because they're in the rules for my eyes to see, and I got multiple warnings about it. Okay, understandable punishment; However, for something that isn't listed in the rules, or for something that I wasn't really warned about (I see Sebkillers warning but I was never notified about that, so i never really saw it, at least i dont think. Why don't warnings notify you when you get new ones?), how do you expect me to know to not do that? An admin could've just simply PM'd me saying "hey, fuckhead, stop leaving on roundstart, ur causing this, this, and this. consider doing this instead.", and that would've been more of an indicator than these warnings and notes on me. The rule you stated has nothing to do with this. It has to do with cryogenic sleep, which is another fiasco I faced a ban for. Where do you see listed "Also, don't just join at roundstart to try and get this or to do this, or don't just join then instantly leave (which is a stupid rule imo but if you wanna enforce it, enforce it.) because it does this, this, and this for other people and for us." I don't see it at all? I just see "Use cryogenic sleep whenever possible, it frees up the job slot for others." and I'm pretty sure I used cryogenic sleep, and already faced a punishment for not using it, did I not? If this is supposed to be some sort of "implicit/unlisted rule" then I clearly didn't get the implication I guess, and I'm sure many others who left at roundstart didn't either. I'm not here to argue with you however, I gave my opinion. If you really think banning people for using cryo at roundstart will teach anything despite it not even being in the rules, then shit, keep the ban. Who am I to argue? Only 3 more days left regardless, so there is no point in getting into a giant argument about it. Point is though how do you expect someone who is relatively new to SS13 (me) to just magically know something that isn't listed inside the rules? No other server has a problem with this (inb4 then go to that other server instead), and this has never been a problem in the past on Aurora, but it's just suddenly coming up? Aurora is an amazing SS13 server, possibly one of the top 3 even, but if this is really such a big issue: Put it in the rules. Simple as that. That way, nobody has an excuse for doing this, and you can enforce it. Then we'll see who is really at fault here for somebody who is getting banned for something that isn't listed in the rules VS. something that someone didn't know was a rule.

I wasn't warned twice about this, I was only warned twice actually about not using cryosleep before leaving, which is an understandable and reasonable rule that I unintentionally broke, and faced a reasonable punishment for. But this? I wasn't warned twice about "leaving at round start." Not only that, unlike the cryosleep warnings, I don't see a rule ANYWHERE in the server rules about this. I used cryosleep, and left. I think it's ridiculous I got banned for a week for leaving a server even though I respected the admins requests on what to do before leaving. Thing is though, I'm not even mostly concerned about the fact I got banned for a week for leaving, I'm more concerned that I received NO warnings not to leave as soon as the game starts (which would be a stupid rule if enforced), and that there is no way I'd know not to do this because it's not even in the server rules.

It started out as something stupid that I escalated into something even more stupid when I was just a bit drunk. I understand we're on some pretty bad terms but hopefully that'll heal overtime.

By saying I wasn't ban evading I meant as in I didn't intend to ban evade here; Apologies, I should have worded that better and it's on me. Yes, it's true, I did try to ban evade on Paradise Station, but I still stick with that I never intended to do it here on Aurora and I originally intended to wait my ban out for this server. I read through all my old thread because honestly I don't remember everything, and it appears we were talking about how that it showed up as me trying to join here more than 40 times on an account, but I was trying to tell you that account was not associated with me or something? That thread is just one big clusterfuck however, and rather confusing. I admit I should have worded my original post better, and I wasn't trying to convince you I never ban evaded anywhere. Point is, it's been seven months, and I really wanna come back to a server I had a great and fun time on. I accepted my original punishment and I understood why you gave it to me, but I'm hoping to work something out. Keep in mind, it was seven months ago, so I may have fucked up on a detail or two so if anything needs explaining just ask. Frankly, looking back, I was an idiot for even trying to do that on Paradise and I really do apologize. I think I've improved a lot in SS13 and would like to only contribute to this server, and I cannot stress how much it'd mean to me to give me a second chance here and if we could just move on from my stupid mistakes. I'm doing my best to display any sort of understanding and truthfulness, and while I do understand I don't deserve to be unbanned most likely, can we at least both agree that what I've done is in the past? I made my last appeal seven months ago, was denied and I came back because I did genuinely enjoy this server. As I said, if I hated this server, I wouldn't try to be coming back on. BYOND Key: listendudeiwannadie Total Ban Length: Permanent Banning staff member's Key: [mention]Garnascus[/mention] , I believe Reason of Ban: Originally was for stabbing somebody who was attempting to stab me back while in the medbay which got successfully appealed, however it escalated into something much greater when I was accused of something else, which I believe was ban evading, but it wasn't true; Honestly, it was a whole mess and I can't even think of what happened. Reason for Appeal: While my ban was permanent, I was hoping to finally lift this punishment. The last time I tried to appeal this was seven months ago. I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't genuinely enjoy the server. I've been off of it for seven months which I personally think is a fair enough punishment for what I have done. I think it's a little absurd to keep me banned from a server I actually enjoyed over some stupid shit which I never attempted to do here. I have PM'd [mention]Garnascus[/mention] and he has told me to just appeal my ban, so hopefully this means I can come back. Like I said, if I had any grudges against this server, or I didn't genuinely enjoy it, I would not be trying to appeal my permaban after seven months.

Reason for Appeal: just would love to come back to the server. i know it seems kinda pathetic that i'm like, begging, especially since this is my third time appealing. i just dont think the last ban appeal result was right considering how i did my best to be honest, but i dont make the rules. i was told i could reappeal anytime, so i waited around a month or two, then decided to come back. honestly i just want a game to play on my freetime is all cus when i'm not outside (whats outside?) i get fucking bored real quick, and steam games cant hold me over forever. also, i really loved this server, and i do want to support it.

In fact, my original ban (which I successfully appealed) for stabbing somebody in the eyes would be way over by now. I've been banned for two weeks right now. All I can say is right now, everything I've said is me being as honest as possible no matter how crazy it may seem. I apologize sincerely for putting you and your admin team through this trouble. I really would like to come back onto the server. Can we please work something out? I don't know what else to say.

The four separate attempts I can explain. As I was joining to check the duration (Which is the true story, no matter how false it may seem,) I had my VPN and Mac spoofer on. I have been doing this the entire week of my ban. I then realized this, went "Fuck, fuck, fuck" then I turn them both off, then I check, then all of a sudden this ban which came out of nowhere which has no association with me, is now pinned to me. I joined mostly to just check the duration of my ban, I really have no reason to lie, I showed you my accounts and the duration of time I griefed at and where I griefed at. I don't remember trying to join 40 times after a ban, and it makes no sense because even if I were banned, how come I could join perfectly until I got banned by [mention]YouJustGotOwened[/mention] , consider Byond bans all accounts under one computer? I don't know how else I can explain this considering I'm being as honest as I possibly can be. I'm sincerely sorry, and I only want to just play again.

I seriously don't remember being associated with that account, I don't remember making an account under the name "ayyitsboris." Something must be wrong, maybe I have really bad memory and I DID make an account with that name, but if I did, how come I was able to join the server perfectly fine under this account if it bans all accounts under the same computer? If I however, did have an account under that name (which I seriously don't remember making, I have no clue why I'd name it "boris,") and I did break that rule, I apologize for it, and I definitely have improved in terms of rules. As for the fourty ban evasion attempts, I don't keep track of how much I join. That's also a pretty big number. I don't remember trying to join that much either. I do however know, I tried joining multiple times only to check the duration of my ban. But I swear to God, the only server I tried evading a ban on was Paradise Station. But, I have one major question that I think can help solve this. You said I have 40 attempts at dodging that ban up until a few weeks ago, and I was trying to evade my Paradise Station ban on July 17th at 1am. Key words, "Up until a few weeks go," so what would be the date on those attempted ban evasions? In the meantime, here is the ban on Paradise, and my current accounts. I understand why you're not leaning towards my favor, but I'm really doing my best to cooperate and work somethin' out here.

I just meant to evade a ban on Paradise Station (I doubt that makes it any better though tbh) because me and my friend were griefing there. I can even show the ban from there if you'd like, it may even have a timestamp. However, we did this until 11pm to 5am, if I remember correctly. I actually really enjoyed this server a lot, and I never would have wanted to extend my ban. I also talked with the admins about this, At first they said I tried joining 4 times. I believe I may have accidentally joined with a VPN, another account, or with my mac spoofer on. Yes, I know, "How do you 'ACCIDENTALLY' join." I tried explaining this to the best of my abilities, because I knew this information made me seem bad. I told the admins that some of the times I tried joining was most likely just to see how long I'm banned. Also, when I first saw the permaban, I was extremely confused because, well, I was told it was a week ban, and this was out of nowhere. So I probably tried rejoining. It was a long night either way, and I don't remember why, or how I tried joining. If I could explain it, I would. All I know is, I had NO intentions of evading a ban here, no matter how hard that may seem. Then this morning, I was informed I actually tried joining 40 times?! Now, maybe perhaps through the nine days of my ban I've served so far, maybe I joined that much just to check up on my duration of the ban? I know this sounds weird, but joining to check on my duration makes the ban seem like it will end quicker. Now, I'm sure whatever information the admins are reading is 100% correct, this kind of shit doesn't lie obviously. But 40 times for me personally is a lot of times to keep track on, and I don't remember joining that much. Anyways, to sum it up. I hope to be unbanned from this server because I genuinely did enjoy playing here on my spare time, and if you want me to prove that I only tried evading my ban (unsuccessfully) on Paradise Station, I can provide the ban which will include a timestamp. Also, I don't think what I did on Paradise Station was right either don't get me wrong, and I don't plan on trying it ever again in the future for any other server. We were just being shitters that night, and we were drunk and having some fun. If there is anything else an admin would like explained, just tell me and I'll do my best to explain it. I really do just want a nice, relaxed roleplaying environment that's also fun, and this server really was that. BYOND Key: Listendudeiwannadie Total Ban Length: Perma Banning staff member's Key: shameonturtles Reason of Ban: The story of why I'm banned is because someone ran up to me with a fork, stabbed me in my eye, and I chased after him. After failing to find him, I reported him to security, went about my day. I went to the medbay to get all patched up, then I saw the man there. I quickly ahelped to make sure it was alright, because I had a knife in my backpack, and I was gonna run up, stab him and attack him as payback. No admin responded, so I just went ahead and stabbed him in his stomach, and beat him up. A medical officer and borg broke us up, and I did some major damage to him to the point it would have taken him some time to heal. I believe this is appropriate, as well, he gave me minor eye damage. We then kept feuding, arguing back and forth, which we both actually thought was quite amusing. Then he was put into a chair and cuffed, escaped, and I chased after him because I wanted justice to be given upon him. But then an admin intervenes, despite our roleplay not affecting anybody else and that we both actually are enjoying this, and bans me and gives him a warning. Reason for Appeal: I'm still kind of learning the basics of space station 13, I went to a server that wasn't roleplay heavy, and I got everything down really. I also think that this server is really neat, and I'd like to give it another shot. Maybe I did break a rule in there, but no admin responded to my ahelp. And I will admit, this isn't the first time I've been approached by admins, but damn it I've been ahelping nearly every single action just to make sure it's all cool. I have been a shitter a few times I will also admit and take responsibility about that, but other than that I've had a lot of fun on this server, especially when I've played antag. I'd hate for the opportunity to play here again to slip up on me because I've made a small mistake. Also, if I made any spelling mistakes or any mistakes in general, please excuse, writing this at like 5am lol.
