  1. Silent: Good ol' Tennessee in 'Murica.
  2. Y'ello, I'm Silent. I'm fifteen years old, from Tennessee, a band fanatic, and I do absolutely nothing all day. I quite enjoy playing games, helping people out and dealing with other people's drama, only because that's pretty much my whole life in a nutshell. So, yeah, I'm boring as hell, if you couldn't already tell.
  3. Basic Information Byond Account: SilentNight195 Character Name(s): Karen Pierce, Amber Koster, Travis Stamos, Ana Baker AI Name(s): Silent Preferred means of contact: Steam, Teamspeak, Skype Age: 15 Timezone: Eastern Standard Time When are you on Aurora?: About 12.00-01.00. (I'll be a bit less active in upcoming weeks due to school things.) Experience Ex-Apollo Admin (when it had a decent population), Ex-Admin on a populous Minecraft server (that died). How long have you played SS13?: Over a year. How long have you played on Aurora: I've been regularly playing for a little bit over a month, however, I would hop on from time-to-time before that. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Quite a bit, but not as much as I think I know. There's been a lot of things that I didn't know, that I was almost completely sure I knew. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Yes, from Apollo. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I have not. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I play SS13 to escape from my life and to take myself into a whole new world as a completely different person. I play SS13 so that I can be someone else for a change and doing so brings me joy. I can do so much on SS13 that I can't do in real life, and I can make so many new friends. I play SS13 for the sole fact that I can be someone else and the fact that I can control what they look like, how they act, and I love the feeling of having control of that. Why do you play on Aurora?: I play on Aurora for the community. The community here is wonderful, and I honestly love everyone here, whether they love me or not. The players here always seem, to me, at least, to be trying their hardest to help people out and make them feel welcome. Along with the community, I'm here for the fact that Heavy Roleplay is actually enforced, which is something I was not able to find on other servers. What do moderators do?: Moderators are here to help players out and make sure that the server isn't being chaotic. Moderators are the people that should give their all to keep the server a healthy place for all players and to deal with legitimate issues that occur in-game. Moderators are, simply put, there to moderate the server and keep it from being engulfed in flames. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Being a Moderator for Aurora is definitely more of a task than it is for some other places, due to its high playercount and the fact that it is Heavy RP. Being a mod here means you need to be able to handle your situations with care and you must be calm while taking care of them. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I want to be a moderator for a few reasons, actually. I want to make sure that everyone on the server is happy, primarily. Doing this requires active staff to take care of ahelps and in-game issues, and there's not always staff online to take care of these issues. I want to be a moderator so that I may also help new players learn proper roleplay and game mechanics, so that they feel like they are welcome to the server. Lastly, I want to be a moderator simply to help people out. It's something I've always done, and it's something I plan to keep doing. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I can tolerate other people without becoming angry with them, I consider myself to be pretty good at helping other people out, and I have a good sense of leadership. I know that I'm not the best moderator candidate out there, but I have something that some other people do not, which is determination to always do the best that I can possibly do. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Fairly well, although I will admit that sometimes I can lose my cool. Anything Else You Want to Add: My time on Aurora has honestly been the best experience I've had playing SS13, and I want to thank everyone, staff and the general community.
  4. The Captain lacks a pet. I fully endorse this.
  5. Wonderful roleplayer. I usually end up seeing Sai, and every interaction with her is great. Interaction with Aida is also something that I miss (bring her back, dang it) and really enjoyed. I hope to see you as a Diona soon. +1
  6. Okay, thanks for that heads up. c: Also, it's been less than a month, but I got on before from time to time; I just recently started playing regularly.
  7. BYOND key: SilentNight195 Character names: Karen Pierce, Travis Stamos, Amber Koster How long have you been playing on Aurora?: About five or six days, I think, but I would hop on from time to time before this. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: To fill the head positions that are usually available, such as CMO and maybe even Captain. Why did you come to Aurora?: To join a server with great RP and to be a part of a well-known and well-respected community. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is stepping into the shoes of someone else. It's leaving the world you live in behind you, and entering a whole new world where so many new things are possible. Roleplay is being someone completely new and living a completely different life. It's doing so much more in a world where so much more is possible. Roleplay should be a fun thing for everybody, not just for one individual. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: I think that it would be to teach players about their role and how to do a specific job, if they are unsure how to do it, and to do their job and keep their department in order. A Head of Staff should know the majority of the department they are the head of, thus meaning they should be able to easily be able to teach players that are unsure about something in the department. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The OOC responsibilities of a whitelisted player is to set an example for players, both in having good RP and being able to show how things must be done. They should enforce good RP in players and always push them to do their best all around. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Amber Koster Character age: 35 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Amber and Ambrosine Koster both grew up in a very abusive household... Their mother left, and their dad with an alcoholic. He would often sexually and physically abuse Amber, and Ambrosine was not able to do anything about it. Ambrosine would often hear Amber crying as their dad abused her, and Ambrosine would try her hardest to tune it all out.. Amber, on the otherhand, had to experience every last bit of it, firsthand. Her father let his rage out on her and took advantage of her. One fateful evening, Amber and her father were in their house's basement together, her father doing his usual cruelties, and Ambrosine was there, sitting at the top of the stairs, watching as it happened. Something right then in Amber snapped and she fought her father back. He pulled out a knife on her and cut her directly in the face, from her left eye to her lower lip. Amber retaliated by jabbing her foot into his knee, and she took his knife and jammed it into his neck. She looked up to see Ambrosine staring at her in horror. Amber went up the stairs, collected Ambrosine, and went to seek help. After that day, she began training to become an officer of the law and protect people so that they do not have to go through anything remotely close to what she went through... What do you like about this character?: She is a great person, despite how rude she can be. She can be extremely sweet, depending how a person acts towards her. I also quite enjoy her style of handling things. She will do whatever she can to keep her crew safe, even if it means making the ultimate sacrifice. What do you dislike about this character?: She can be a bit too rude at times, and because of this, she has a habit of making enemies, or at least causing people to dislike her. People that dislike Koster also happen to be disliked by Koster, so there is really no solving the issue. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Her sense of leadership. She will always push people to do their best work, one way or another. She will always make sacrifices for her crewmates, no matter how much she likes or dislikes them, because she knows it is the right thing to do. She would do anything to ensure her crew's safety. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I wouldn't say it's the best, but I would say it is okay. On a scale of one to ten, I would give it about a six, or maybe even a seven. People tell me that my RP is good, but I criticize myself harshly. Extra notes: I know my jobs on the station and I know how to roleplay them properly. I know what needs to be done and I know how to get it done. I also most of the time play Pierce, I just chose to do my character information on Koster because she is a much more interesting character, backstory-wise.
  8. So, uhm, I've actually spent a lot of time with you IC'ly, and I must say, I really enjoy your roleplay, and I really think that you can pull off an IPC. +1
