  1. BYOND Key: Jamesthefrog2 Character Names: James Springs Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Ok, So I discovered this game a week ago-ish, and after a fair share of janitorial stuff, I centered around robotics, and interacting with IPC's is always such a cool experience I would like to contribute to myself. It also is an aesthetic that I very much enjoy. I think the more simplistic straight to the point mindset of an IPC would fit my way of thinking as well Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: As someone relatively new, and still learning roleplay, this give an opportunity to make use of the character's nature to speak for me. As i'm not great at extensive conversation in real life, having a IPC with a screen on its head would allow me to, in a way mime out what I want to say to non robotic lifeforms. For instance, instead I could "show images" that inform people what message I'm trying to convey. It also allows for a disconnect from feelings, and makes a opportunity to create a personality and cultural background not bound by a pre established culture. It would also allow for my character to go places the average person cant go in a hazardous situation with less preparation as long as it does not directly endanger the unit. Character Name: MELV Please provide a short backstory for this character: MELV is from a underground labor station Galactic south of HRO'ZAMAL, out in the badlands. This group bought and wiped memory from the cheapest models of IPC they could find, and subjected them to labor and abuse. MELV at the time was just known as GU-17 (general unit). He was created and bought in the year 2440 during a large surge of chassis production. And after 12 the GU unit noticed his owners buying and restoring parts of the new Gen2 Hephaestus units, he started saving to buy his freedom, seeing he will soon become obsolete. After 2 years, the G2's were completed, and replaced him. Now he was really only an expense to the badlanders. Now working as a Janitor and maintaining the units that replaced him. He soon saved up enough money to leave, an as he was only an expense, he was allowed to go. After being stripped of any extra parts, and left to his frame, as a cruel joke the smugglers removed his ability to synthesize speech, leaving him to use his screen and only communicate with other IPCs.. He caught the first shuttle to Adhomai, then to Perispolis and doing various jobs and tasks along the way to afford travel costs and repairs. At one station he met a janitor named Melvin, that he became good friends with who was soon after killed by a hull breach. So the unit adopted a variation of the mans name in remembrance. After loosing his friend he boarded a bluespace shuttle to Tau Ceti, he decided to finally settle down, and after asking others of his kind, he went to settle on Aurora Station. A place he could finally call home and pursue a career in robotics so he can care for others of his kind that he had never received. Now his only goals were to further his understanding of robotics and make a name for himself What do you like about this character? I like this character because it would allow me to have a more manageable RP experience, and provide a cool aesthetic for the crew I guess. I'm not great at RP now, but i'm always trying to improve Notes: I just spent like 2 hours writing this, and trying to take all the previous criticism into account, I hope this is better =)

After months of drifting, he went station to station, trying to find a calling and a home, when he found Aurora Station. With their large Robotics lab, He decided to become a robotics technician to provide caring support to other IPC that he had never received. What do you like about this character?
