  1. IPCs are technically similar to humans when it comes to thinking, They are not impaired in any way but they have an issue with understanding some things such as Sarcasm. I'd say they are even smarter than humans in some cases depending on their self-learning abilities. Also, IPCs are most of the time treated equally but in some nations (or planets, depends) they may be enslaved, sold or even programmed to be specifically mindless workers with no word in the matter. I did forget to make that clear, Sorry. Anyways, Vostok has decided to use this as their name for the meaning of the actual meaning of it. The name was suggested by researchers due to the significane of it, What they've thought is that they have reborned a machine into a living being such as what happened with the astronaut on board of Vostok-1 space capsule. OOCly speaking, The name has no actual meaning in-game and was chosen due to how I saw it, as a "reborned" machinery which is learning more than it was supposed to about it's sentience. Again, Sorry for making this complicated. Vostok-1 was never supposed to be aggresive, (neither is at the current time!) his actions are just seen as cruel or aggresive by crewmembers due to how automated it is. Vostok does not care about patient's mental health, All it was ordered to do was tackle the suspect and bring him to law (which also doesn't mean it wasn't taught about the damage it may cause to a human being with enough force). Vostok-1 was originally quite a limited IPC as it was incapable of doing anything Security related, It slowly began to soak with knowledge as the years passed on due to the training material it was exposed to such as Security Training VHS and Handbooks. At the current time, Vostok-1 is a pretty much automated peacekeeper who was trained to see crime as a worst thing and law as a literal unchangeable rule who everyone should follow, No matter how rich or poor they are. Vostok-1 is generally calm with it's actions, Never raising a hand on a co-worker or a crewmate just because they were littering. Vostok-1 was taught how to tackle the suspects and how to be a useful, yet peaceful security guard. I think I've answered all of your questions and hope that you enjoyed this character I've made up in my head.
  2. BYOND Key: Trinvo Character Names: Jebediah Grabher, Rufus Douglass, Harry Danklburg, Garry Nikkelson Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Non-RP Mechanics: Integrated Positronic Chassis' is a metallic skeleton for Positronic Brains to reside in, They are capable of doing most things as humans; Moving, Talking, Holding and Jumping. Though they are not capable of consuming foods, drinks and other things due to their limitations. They are not living beings, They are machines which is perfect for a variety of jobs including: Jobs that require heavy-lifting, ability to operate information/heavy machinery or simply electrical work without insulation. RP Mechanics: IPCs are also a great pick for those who are not so experienced with Heavy Roleplay due to their ability to apply to any situation without not that many problems, Of course, Players need to be serious and stay in-character while playing as an IPC. Otherwise than that, IPCs also allow for easy access to areas with dangerous chemicals, gasses or more making them a perfect pick for such habitats. Character Name: Vostok-1 (Already created character, Lacked background) Please provide a short backstory for this character: 06.18.2461 - Vostok-1 has been built on Luna by ConTec, Vostok-1 was named after first ever russian space capsule sent into the space. The IPC was ordered by Zavodskoi Interstellar as a part of their order regarding the new protective IPCs for NanoTrasen, Which included other IPCs of similar type. 11.25.2461 - Vostok-1 has been exposed to the training protocole which taught him the basics of Close Quarters Combat, Handling with a weapon and basic information regarding the gear he is going to be utilising. The IPC had no issues since his original activation and continues to learn as the time goes on, Other IPCs from the same line of production do not seem to be having difficulties either. 09.08.2462 - The training has been completed, Vostok-1 has been sent for testing to a nearby Vessel also commonly refered to as "Gigalyo", Crew has reported that Vostok-1 seems to be aggresive, We will check that out once he is sent back to us. There were also reports about him being "ruthless" or "reasonable" with his arrests, Vostok-1's prisoners were not harmed upon closer examination of the topic, IPC has been sent back to Luna for further examinations of his Positronic Brain. 30.12.2462 - Vostok-1 has been adjusted and had his protocols updated due to an issue with the material, We also installed NanoTrasen security handbook on his Processor and taught him the basic NT Rules regarding the basic Cyborg's. He has been cooperative and we will soon ship him to NanoTrasen to fulfill the Contract, Most of the IPCs are ready for shipment. 19.07.2463 - All IPCs were shipped and we are continuing our work with another line. Vostok-1 has not shown any issues since we sent him to NanoTrasen and we are happy to announce that this was a success, Documentation will be filed and sent to Command. What do you like about this character? I personally think this IPC is a fine mix between Aggressive (How Security operates) and Calm (How IPC is supposed to act) making it a perfect pick for Zavodskoi due to their ways of operating in terrain or on-board of vessels. They are ruthless but also not horrible to their prisoners, This is pretty much why I enjoy this character.
  3. I've wanted to head for a corporation that's making models of medical variants, Bishops Cybernetics and Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals were the only ones I could find information about (I couldn't find any information about Hephaestus Industries or Idris Incorporated, Eintein Engines mostly make shells which aren't even related to medical gameplay and Zavodskoi Interstellar which is taking care of weaponry, Not even mentioned to make any IPCs, once again, leaving us with Bishops Cybernetics and Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals.)
  4. CORK-13 was so far working with not so many things, working for NT on a private station would be more interesting than working in a normal hospital, CORK-13 also wanted to change their surroundings after these 9 years, improving something in his "life." I've looked more into this question and figured out with some help, I've meant to write here that CORK-13 is positive to staying in chassis with Bishops Cybernetics as he's satisfied with amount of data and satisfying work. CORK-13 has decided to stay since it's not required in his own opinion, He has enough freedom to work with, only making him more determinted to stay like this.
  5. Alright, Starting off with "better place for specimens", I've meant that CORK-13 was interested in structual build of the humans and other species and wanted to continue on understanding it. Pretty much I can only say this since that's what I originally had in mind. I understand that this isn't 100% great application but I hope it works.
  6. BYOND Key: Trinvo Character Names: Garry Nikkelson, Graham Magnusson, Harry Danklburg Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Starting with easiest parts, It look, mechanics and knowledge, IPCs are eguipped with positronic brains which mimic human emotions and feelings since they're machines, It also explains it's name "Integrated Positronic Chassis" (It also doesn't apply to stationbound synthetics such as cyborgs, robots and androids). IPCs are mostly foudn in three forms which include: Shell, Industrial and Baseline (it also depends on designer how they're going to look like). Shells are IPCs designed to look like humans, Their outer "shell" is humanlike, making almost no difference than normal skin. Though, their nature speaks for itself and mostly it makes it easier to distinguish a shell from a human. Industrial IPCs are built for heavy work such as engineering and construction, Then come baseline IPCs which are built for basic work. Of course, That's not all, IPCs are also able to gain freedom and citizenship at Tau Ceti. IPCs can be owned or free, it depends on their creators choice. Character Name: CORK-13 Please provide a short backstory for this character: CORK-13's bishop accessory frame has been built in 2452 and eguipped with a positronic brain a week later at the Oran, Eridani Federation territory, Previously serving as physician in local hospital under Bishop Cybernetics name. CORK-13 has been working at said hospital for nine years, later shipped off to The NSS Aurora after being sold off as a medical unit by head physician. Upon being asked by Roboticists on Aurora, CORK-13 has not given any specific answers, though CORK-13 has shown interest in working with NanoTrasen and has supported the idea of being sold off, adding onto this, CORK-13 has been motivated to assist people on the station. When asked why CORK-13 wanted to be sold off to the NanoTrasen, he answered, quoting "I thought this would be a good chance to help as many humanoids and assist as much as I can, It is a big achievement. I was told that NSS Aurora required more personnel and they were interested in owning another one of my kind since they were lacking IPCs at that current moment, so head physician decided to ask me if I could work there, I have agreed on this." CORK-13 was already positive to being sold off but also supported the idea of it, CORK-13 has been sold off to the NanoTrasen for 600,000 credits. CORK-13 has been asked once again about showing interest about working with NanoTrasen and has finally gave an answer. He's looking forward to working on the station as it's in his own words "better place for specimens", CORK-13 has shown interest in examining human body, more than normal and even has shown satisfaction in working in it. CORK-13 has been reprogrammed onto surgeon variant since there was a lack of them on the Oran. CORK-13 has decided on his own to be reprogrammed and quickly got the files that he required installed onto the harddrive. After being shipped to the Aurora. CORK-13 has been shown around the station and shown his new workplace, CORK-13 was sent onto a calibration to the roboticist and later that day started working as a surgeon. CORK-13 has been in a good shape from that day on and continues to perform his duty. What do you like about this character? Well, Since Barnabey was a false shot, I've decided to go with something that I actually want to learn and play, Medical. I did chose to make an IPC character to learn better ways of roleplaying. I did notice that players who play as Skrells, IPCs, etc. know how to roleplay better. This is basically my motivation to make this application, It's for my knowledge and skills shown in game.
  7. I was planning to develop my character on the go, making it familiar with others as they dig into it's story. Though, idea of writing it out on the application might be more useful for me and my future roleplay, Thank you for that suggestion.
  8. Basically means asking if someone requires assistance or help with some tasks.
  9. BYOND Key: Trinvo Character Names: Garry Nikkelson, KLARk, hIOS Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Standard baseline Idris Inc. IPC Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I see this as a good option to spice up my roleplay, Being a terminator like TV head sounds interesting to me, Overall sci-fi feel is my soft spot, I just love robots. I also see it as a good first step into species, Slowly learning how to play TV head, then Tajara's, etc.It would simply be fun, A lot of dumb fun. Running around as an IPC, asking people about dumb stuff. Pure fun. On the other side of the coin, I would be interested in recieving half of that hate which IPCs are getting, It looks like a nice thing to roleplay with. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Pretty much it's entire health system, You're unable to treat yourself without using nanopaste, Instead you'd have to find someone who's able to repair you. You're a machine (pretty obvious) which doesn't recieve emotions like humans, You simulate them in a pretty poor manner which might make your job or speech harder to understand. I guess that's all for all of the mechanical things related to IPC, On a different note. IPCs also have a much different look, Putting it all together, IPCs are much more different, their mannerisms, feelings, health and look. It's all different than human. Thus making IPCs, as well as different races an additional experience for both individuals, For example, Most of species like off-world humans and normal humans don't seem to hate each other, meanwhile when it comes to IPCs, there should be atleast some difference in their relations. It is proved that not every human accepts IPCs. Those relations will depend on IPC's reactions, overall attitude and his interest in helping the other side, making him a harder role to play than just an old plain human. Let's also not forget that if you wish to play as an IPC. You need to act properly, act like a machine. Character Name: IRU-Barnabey Please provide a short backstory for this character: Positronic brain that Barnabey was eguipped with was created in Mendell City, Biesel, Republic of Biesel on 21.10.2457 later sold and shipped off to The NSS Aurora, Republic of Biesel on 13.11.2457. Barnabey was created by Idris Incorporated as IRU Unit, Specialised in serving and (rarely) returning customer's unpaid debt, Barnabey's positronic brain has been learning and trained to do it's tasks with ease, It's frame has been finished five days before being shipped. It's first movement tests were failures, Barnabey was unable to hold straight and walk properly, falling all over the place. It has learned how to walk after some time, Being even able to run. Later on, It's knowledge tests were successful, Barnabey has learned everything he had and was immediately prepared for his actual frame, Later that day Barnabey has been shipped off to The NSS Aurora, One of NanoTrasen's stations. Barnabey has been seen commenting on his current situation with other workers, His personality seems like curious one, Wanting to know everything and how to do something, This was found troublemaking while tests were ran on him. Other thing about Barnabey that has been asked all the time was his motivation, He always stated that his motivation was simply "customer's satisfaction." He always prefers to serve customers than anything else, Doesn't seem to have any important hobbies than just working, which is rather confusing for us. His overall personality consists of simple satisfaction from working, assisting as much as he's capable of and learning new things. We were unable to ask him more questions since his personality is rather talkative, making it harder to ask. Upon being delivered, Barnabey has begun it's further learning process, learning station's layout, it's crew's members and roots of NT. Week after being deployed, Barnabey already knew most of it's crew, NanoTrasen's history and where what is. Barnabey has been then pushed towards assisting their current bartender. Positronic brain has learned most if it's required information, leaving few blank spots for further learning process. After three weeks, Barnabey has been assigned to work at the bar by himself without any assistance, It was partially successful, Barnabey has done it's tasks correctly though was unable to take care of aggresive customer, He was shut down and later his positronic brain has been adjusted to fix the lack of usage of it's information. Upon being assigned at the bar once again, He was working correctly and with ease, making himself one of the current IPCs units seen on The NSS Aurora. What do you like about this character? I'm excited about playing it, learning how to interact with people as this new AI, Serving them and assisting them in their future stories, It just seems fun being a machine playing among the humans. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Being honest, 6/10 I'd say it's pretty good but my grammar and lack of professional knowledge in english vocabulary might be a pain in the back.

Character Name: IRU-Barnabey Please provide a short backstory for this character: Barnabey has been built by Idris Inc. It was shipped and sold to NanoTrasen, Currently acting as it's crewmember. What do you like about this character? I've been interested in totally new "health system" for this character, as well as new possibilities in roleplaying. It seems like a nice way to try out new things and races. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Being honest, 5/10 My grammar isn't that good and I don't usually tend to know everything.
