  1. To: Duty Office - N.S.S. Odin From: Quartermaster Bobby Bass CC: N.S.S. Aurora Command Staff Subject: Cargo Technician Ruh Ajam To the Investigating Duty Officer, I'd just like to point out a couple of things to speed this along a bit, as I take my work in Cargo seriously and would like this resolved should I find this Tech under my supervision in the future. First, there is no excuse for the debris, trash, whatever, all over the bay. Sorting through trash is a poor excuse as that should only be done in the appropriately named 'Sorting Office'. Second, breaking into the Quartermaster's office is trespassing, plain and simple. Third, having a live animal in the cargo bay itself is a serious workplace hazard and is, at best, neglect of duty. These are all painfully obvious facts. Having said that, I have never worked with this particular Cargo Technician before, so I'm afraid I cannot shed any background on this shituation. Respectfully, Bobby Bass, Quartermaster
  2. I know I'm fairly new (Been playing only about a month and a half now? I think? Somewhere around that.) and so whatever I say doesn't carry much weight.. which I completely understand. I just feel like I need to get something off my chest, because it's something that bothered me with a recent round. 2ND POINT: Several people in this very thread (no names, i'm not that kind of guy) were in the game this morning when some pretty serious meta/power gaming went down..and was admitted as such even in OOC as a "Well everyone else does it as antag, so fuck it". There was little to no one refuting them either, which I think dismayed me the most. I mean, yeah it sucks when people do it, but ever heard of that saying two wrongs do not make a right? I even had a brief LOOC conversation with the one player where they told me "If you come in here I'm going to powergame the fuck outta you, just sayin" and acted like it was a favor that they were warning me. I responded I wasn't here for that, I was here to RP. I guess they were just pissed because something happened earlier and they were now blowing off steam, they was a veteran player I've seen plenty of times doing quality RP and it just didn't feel right to Ahelp it or argue. But then the OOC chat blew up into a discussion of how it's basically the norm and everyone seemed so....resigned to it. Like.. oh well, this is how it is, might as well go with it. If that's your attitude, it's sad. Especially if you are a veteran player, with time invested and relationships you've developed. I can't be the only one that feels like this. Sorry for the rant, but this seemed like the right place for it. As for the other points, I get it. I do. Even in my short time here i'm seeing my interactions and relationships with other players go up steadily, so I know it just takes time. That's all. Just like when you start a new school, there are cliches already established, some kids are more popular than others, and then there is you.. a nobody, yet. It takes time to build relationships and to get to the level where people will start to prefer you, actively seek you out, or just trust you in general because they know you can handle yourself. Hell, I'm not even whitelisted and I was given the Research Director role one round and it all just..worked out. Really well in my opinion. I know the game and how to play it, the hardest part is connecting with others and that's something that...as i've beaten into the damn ground by now...takes time.

    Advice Seeking

Alright, so I have been playing on the server for abooouuuttt two or three weeks now, and it still seems like I'm missing something here. I've got two main characters that I regularly play: Bobby Bass (Quartermaster) and John Arclite (Maintenance Tech). Besides that one wonderful round where a bunch of us played Meowfia (Werewolf) in the bar and a couple with the medical staff, I have yet to /really/ have decent interactions with characters on the Aurora. I play late at night, dead hour mostly, so it's usually only a handful of people on and most of them seem to be regular players. I'm just curious as to what I'm doing wrong and how I could improve, be it something as simple as my character's need fleshing out more or some way to increase interactions, I'm looking for just about any sort of help I could get. As far as the game mechanics go, with both characters I know exactly what to do for there jobs and 9 times out of 10 I see a round through to it's very end, but my characters both barely seem to know anyone and no one seems to want to get to know them at all. I'm just curious as to how to rectify this so I feel like less of an outcast and can enjoy the experience of playing here more. Thanks in advance.
  4. Definitely has the skill and always follows those guidelines to the T. Plus, never seen her outside of Engineering, and I actually saw her as ERT and she didn't show any bias what-so-ever. Definite support here.
  5. I don't post much, being new to the server and all, so I'm not sure how much weight my vote will carry. That said, haven't RPed with his character (Conrad) a couple of times already and based on my own previous experiences RPing elsewhere, I believe that Paragon is sufficiently adept at roleplay and following the rules to be considered for a head position. Recently, a brief interaction between himself and my character showed more character development on his part than I've seen on a number of others. I actually felt something for his character. That alone is remarkable, considering. +1
