If you could shed light on this, I'd love to hear your input, I was verbally threatened with being killed by a member of security, how would you have proceeded if a sec officer were to say they planned on "Leaving you in a bodybag" and jumping across your counter into your workstation? I assumed self-defense was a reasonable reaction, but if I'm mistaken let me know. I'm aware, though I'm also aware that the rule specifically states "All events of conflict will be considered canon unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties or spurred by a round antagonist-related action." and I will hopefully find an avenue in which the other party agrees to make the event that happened non-canon, if I can find out whom made the marooning decision in the first place, possibly through Discord or such. And for this, I was Ahelped when I was jailed, what I mentioned there was that the Admin who was handling my Ahelp did not mention to me what anything about my sentencing or further consequences were, so I had no idea at the time to bring upon any of that up. And finally for this, I have read the rules that state "Conflict is acceptable, even if you are not an antag, but it needs to be believable" Which I fully believe it was, I merely made statements that lead to a security officer threatening my life, to which I defended my own life with reasonable response. Everything that lead up to the moment was entirely roleplayed out in a believable fashion to what I understand, I only did not know the consequences for my character until it was too late. BYOND Key: StacyScene Total Ban Length: Until Contested Banning staff member's Key: Melariara Reason of Ban: Joined as their bartender character after being told their actions were considered canonical. Didn't want to listen to like, everyone ever about it. Told to contest on the forums. Reason for Appeal: So, I had been playing in Aurorastation for about a week or so, I had never really fully comitted to HRP before, and decided to try my hand with this server, I had taken up as Bartender here and really, really enjoyed my time, I was reading just about every piece of lore and wiki articles that your fine Editors and Lore Writers have placed, and I took as much time as possible to create my character, I had gotten into an altercation with Security forces over a weapons permit as my bartender, and I had assumed I did everything correctly at the time to properly Roleplay and Escalate it to bring about a good, clean little RP Event, I wasn't setting out to be hostile and simply wanted to create a little drama, but it had spiraled out of control when a member of security had threatened to kill me, in which case things ended violent. When I was jailed I was messaged by an Admin, but they had only told me to be careful about Self-Antagging, so I assumed that was the end of it, when I was then continually being a nuisance ICly I was eventually deemed to be Marooned. I had zero idea what Marooning meant, nor what it would mean for my character, I had zero staff interaction that gave me warning nor advice on what was happening and presumed I was only putting forth an interesting roleplay opportunity, to be a whiny, arrogant Dominian character, and had I knew what was awaiting me, I would not have done so at all. And such I was eventually deemed to be Marooned, and a Security Guard was to do the "Honors" in which we were boarded by pirates, or such, it was some form of actual antagonistic event, so while my marooning didn't technically happen, the "Charges" or such did, though, I was also so new that I had no idea what even really happened at the time, as I was actually eventually executed with a shotgun by a member of security, possibly illegally. And I could not accept that my character I had put so much work into, taking notes, reading the wiki, and trying my uptmost best to fit in with the community we have, was to be gone, and I lashed out when told about it, and I admit I was wrong to refuse to take the advice of Mel at the time, though I only wish I were given advice, a warning, or some form of foreknowledge before this all happened as to what anything meant, I had read the rules as well but I did not know about Permadeath, I saw the Canonical bit, but I did not know that meant death/criminal charges were part of such, and so I refused to take it, and asked for an exemption so I could go forward with the knowledge, and when I was told no, I readied up with the character anyway, and was given my ban. I really, really miss this community, and server, and would absolutely do anything to get back to it, I am regretful and sorry for my actions, I hope I can be forgiven and we can find a way to deal with this matter, thank you for reading.
