Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question
Why do you wish to play this specific race: I love the lore of this species more than any other. Some of my favourite roleplayers on this server are using Tajaran characters (not to say that the others are bad, I just enjoy the way they portray this race). I want to be a part of that, and the Tajaran are the characters I most commonly use on other servers.
Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Because of the structure of their mouth, they tend to roll their R's, and choose names that are easier to pronounce in a language that the other races can understand, usually Arabic or Russian as they are the easiest for the Tajaran to pronounce. They tend to refer to themselves in the third person, and speaking in first person is usually reserved for people they trust completely. Only hardsuits that have been specifically made for Tajaran can be worn by them, and because of their claws, they cannot use gloves without a little modification, and are unable to wear shoes.
Character Name: Safa Abd al Sami
Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs: Born in Nal'tor, the capital of Adhomai, Safa lived a pretty normal Tajaran life. Being M'sai, she found herself training for a position in law enforcement, eventually joining as an enforcer for the city's police force. Although it was family tradition to join law enforcement, she soon began to find herself drawn towards cooking. She loved creating her own food, and as she fell in love with this hobby, she began to lose interest in being an enforcer.
Unfortunately, her family was not supportive of her new hobby, criticising her and constantly letting her know that as a M'sai she is supposed to find food, but it's not her job to prepare it, and doing so is degrading to her race. As such, she stuck with her career in law enforcement, soon moving from the city's force to join Nanotransen's security at their many offices in and around the capital. Many years later, she was informed of positions open aboard the N.S.S. Aurora, and one of the positions listed was for a chef. She knew she would disappoint her family even more if they found out, but they were also hiring security, so it could hurt to just check it out, right...?
What do you like about this character?: She knows she has a job to do in order to keep the tradition of her family, but the love for her hobby is eating away at her mind. I would love to see how the battle between family honour/ loyalty and loyalty to herself will play out.
How would you rate your role-playing ability?: I would like to think that I can roleplay well, as I have been roleplaying for roughly 6 years now and I've had no complaints about it. I think I've also been able to roleplay completely different personalities and professions very well.
