  1. Fair point. I thought it would be funny to do so I did it but I don't want that to be canon for my character. And to be honest, people who do things like what I did make for interesting rp and interaction. Literally everyone in LOOC loved it.
  2. If you payed attention, I just smeared a cigarette on her. That's it. Tasering someone for no reason would deserve a -1 but I didn't. Also, smearing the cigarette on her makes sense for the character because during that shift, he was dealing with all kinds of bs bureaucracy from engineering and from the IAA.
  3. Valorallen Vitellia is a good in game character and the roleplay is done well. +1
  4. I've advertised this several times. I'll try doing it some more.
  5. BYOND key: FuzzyLaser Character names: Quinn Lindsay, Darren Sterling, Simon Shifty, Penelope Baudin, and Larry Jenkins How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Around 6 months? Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Playing a Head of Staff gives you a lot of roleplay opportunities and the ability to manage things in the best possible way. Why did you come to Aurora?: A more serious RP environment is what I was looking for. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes, playing a Head of Staff without knowing what to do is stupid because it ruins rounds. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is the acting out of a role to put it simply. In my opinion, roleplay should be about realistically playing your character and initiating/reacting to events in order to make the scene fun. In Space Station 13's case, following the rules but being creative at the same time enhances everyone's gameplay usually for the better. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: A decent Head of Staff needs to at least regulate the department. However, this is just the minimum that a Head needs to accomplish. Heads of Staff have the biggest roles on the station and thus, they need to roleplay to the best of their ability in order to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting for all of the players. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: When it comes to the responsibilities of whitelisted players, those players should serve as models for newcomers to the server and they should try to make the round fun. I can uphold this by always roleplaying to the best of my ability and I can also add to the current events that happen in the round. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Quinn Lindsay Character age: 38 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Quinn's story begins at his childhood. He was born in the Sol System and his father by the name of Sean was an enlisted soldier, so Quinn was always on the move from outpost to outpost which gave him a strong background with the Sol Alliance Military (SAM). When Quinn was in his teen years, his dad died protecting a trading vessel from a pirate band. This changed Quinn's attitude towards the Sol Alliance Military because he discovered that it was the SAM's fault that his father died. After Sean's regiment was dispatched to attack the pirates, the SAM commander coordinating the assault failed to realize that the regiment was doomed. The attack was an obvious probe bait and the pirate ship exploded, killing the entire regiment and the nearby trade vessel. There were over 2,000 casualties. The commanding officer of the assault was demoted and remained nameless due to the backlash received. Quinn had distrust and hate for the military that killed his father. Five years after the death of his father, the SAM outpost that Quinn was currently living at took a hit from an unknown enemy (It was rumored to be Sol Alliance Rebels). Quinn looked out of his bedroom window and witnessed the destruction around him. Half of the outpost was leveled to ground zero almost instantly. However, the tower that was the command center could be seen off in to the distance, unscathed from the attack. The SAM flag on top of the building was gallantly waving and glistening amongst the laments of the civilians and the barking of orders from the sergeants who were overseeing the AA turrets. Quinn saw what it stood for. The flag was a beacon of hope. He and his mother survived the raid by taking shelter in a nearby bunker and Quinn didn't forget the flag. After the attack, the outpost was evacuated due to instability and when Quinn turned 18 in the following months, he joined the Sol Alliance Military because he wanted to protect and serve. He was enlisted in the Sol Alliance Military for 20 years and then he retired to work for Nanotrasen, who happened to give him an amazing job opportunity to work on the Aurora. All seems good but Quinn's past still catches up to him from time to time. Not only do the events of his childhood affect him; Quinn witnessed gruesome deaths that befell his comrades during his service for the SAM. What do you like about this character?: I really like the backstory and the uniqueness of Quinn. It's fun to roleplay as him. What do you dislike about this character?: Quinn is supportive to Nanotrasen and this can be annoying at times, especially when you realize that according to the lore,"Nanotrasen has gone so far as to establish a foothold within the center of (Sol) Alliance space, a move some are calling a bloodless coup." During his service in the military, Nanotrasen always provided and aided the Sol Alliance so the corporation was often favored by the soldiers because they saw the direct impacts that Nanotrasen made (supplying weapons, new tech, and funding). What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Quinn's service and commanding roles in the space marines gave him a sense of how to regulate a department and his obligation to duty makes him fit to be a Head of Staff. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I don't know how to answer this. I would say that I do a good job when I am really into the round but nobody can be the best roleplayer all the time. Extra notes:
  6. BYOND key: FuzzyLaser Character names: Larry Jenkins, Darren Sterling How long have you been playing on Aurora?: 5 days Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: So I can enhance my roleplay experience by becoming a head of staff. Why did you come to Aurora?: I wanted a more serious and fun roleplay environment. (I got just that!) Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes. I also have experience as a head from when I used to play on paradise station. They have roleplay but the server isn't as nearly as heavy. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: In my own words I express roleplay generally as playing as something you are not or following a role. Specific to SS13, roleplay is essential for a good experience. If everyone is playing a role correctly then all goes well. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To keep everything working like one giant machine. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Responsibilities of whitelisted players should include being a good model for other players or perhaps being a guide/mentor to nonwhitelisted players so they get a feel for the server. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Larry Jenkins Character age: 58 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Larry Jenkins was born somewhere in the Sol System. He had very loving parents who worked for Nanotrasen as space janitors. At a young age Larry witnessed the mistreatment and indifference to these janitors in the universe. In his 20's, after working as a janitor for Nanotrasen, Larry decided to do something about the childhood dreams he had of a committee that acts as a structural beam for space janitors. He setup the SJC (Space Janitor Committee). This committee provides services to space janitors such as private clubs, bars, and labor unions. He is very humble and relaxed about this accomplishment. Several years later after the formation of the SJC, Larry has been going from station to station, shift to shift, and working. He believes money made by the SJC shouldn't end up only in his pocket. He splits the amounts reasonably with employees and other co-founders/managers. Even though he can definitely support himself on his money made from the SJC he enjoys working for Nanotrasen on their establishments because he heavily enjoys the entertainment alongside an active job that also allows him to manage the SJC at the same time. What do you like about this character?: It's fun to roleplay as an "important" and relaxed person. What do you dislike about this character?: Nothing at all What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Larry is a very sanguine person so even in the worst of times he'll manage to pull through. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: That's very subjective. I'll leave that up to other players. Extra notes:
