One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?: Well I've always loved robots since I was a little boy, so getting the chance to (role)play as one is very exciting to me. LIke many things in Aurora, the lore of IPC's are well crafted and allow for many ways to play the species (or more accurately machines), and IPC's look so cool and come in a variety of designs (or frames). Lastly IPCs provide a unique role-playing experience due to their purely logical thinking and how the EAL( encoded audio language) works. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: IPCs are different to humans due to many reasons including: way of thinking, physical traits, language, and more. First off, IPCs are purely logical and cannot do actions the IPCs consider illogical or do accidental actions such as shaking in anger. This doesn't mean that IPCs can't act similarly to humans, quite the opposite as IPCs brains act very similarly to human brains which allows for human levels of social interaction. But IPCs don't feel emotions in the same ways as humans, IPC"s version of emotions are just replications and IPCs wouldn't make purely emotional decisions. This makes roleplaying interactions as IPCs similar to humans but limits certain actions if they have some logical basis. IPCs on the physical field are very resilient, IPCs have moderate melee and bullet resistance but are weaker to laser damage and will be downed instantly by EMPS. But an upside is that IPCs can handle more pressure changes then humans, but this does not make them EVA compatible(unless its a Xion model). IPCs can only repair themselves with Nanopaste, other than that they need a machinist or anyone who has knowledge on IPC repairs to fix them; Also IPCs can't regenerate like humans can. This causes IPCs players to play their characters more carefully. The most important thing that IPCs have is their self-preservation detective. This prevents any suicidal acts or acts that would put the IPC in danger. Other than that the self-preservation detective can be interpreted in many ways which allows players flexibility in what life goals they want their IPC to have. ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: Theta AXX Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived at the SCCV Horizon. Theta AXX was "born" in 2456 when its positronic brain was activated in a Zheng-Hu Pharmaceutical robotic manufacturing plant on the planet of Biesel. Theta was not too long after given its baseline frame that would become Theta's body. Theta was built to be a janitor for NanoTresan and would be given a janitor datapack by an upload and enter a few weeks of training to get Theta ready for the job. After training, Theta was moved to a NanoTrasen facility in Belle cote, where Theta would practice its mimicry with NanoTresen staff and gain its interest in French culture after asking why Belle Cote was pronounced that way. Theta personality grew into one that was task focused and talkative which helped with Theta's self-preservation directive. At first Theta interpreted its self-preservation as only protecting its physical self, but After learning about mind-wipping Theta started making ways to prevent this from happening to itself. One was to be as productive as possible to discourage wasting its experience and getting closer to obtaining freedom, and two by being friendly to staff to guilt trip them into not whipping its personality. Other than that Theta has hobbies in its free time to help with its goals. Theta (as previously mentioned) has an interest in French culture and history, they can often be seen going to the local library to learn about its interests as Theta considers learning in "the human way"(reading books) to be superior to understanding human interaction than simply uploading the information. Theta also "enjoys" watching Greek plays and stories as it believes it can gain an insight on human sociology and psychology. Theta's journey to be aboard the SCC Horizon was the result of its productivity and multiple appraisals. After proving its worth, Theta was replaced by another Baseline and moved to Mendell city to keep a NanoTrasen office building cleaned. Theta continued its promotion streak when it was given the opportunity to join the SCC Horizon as a janitor due to its experience and good work record. Theta of course accepted and it's ready to start its first shift on the flag ship, but cleaning a ship is a different experience to cleaning a building and only time will tell if Theta is up for the task. How have the recent events of the Orion Spur impacted your character? Events such as the Phoron Scarcity, the Solarian Collapse or even the Invasions of Biesel for interstellar-wide affairs, while region-specific events such as the Peacekeeper Mandate, The Titan Rises or even Cold Dawn may impact your character. The phoron scarcity has worried Theta because it's puts its main employer, owner, and protector NanoTrasen in an insecure position which has led Theta to quicken its pace to freedom out of fear that its owner will scrap it or sell it off to someone else to save costs. The Solarian invasion has made Theta a staunch Anti-Solarian, yet this view is perplexed by the fact that one of Theta's main goals in life is to visit France proper and see Paris. The collapse of Sol is viewed as a good thing by Theta as it led to the creation of the republic of Beisel and softened the Sol Alliance (which increases Theta's chances to visit France). How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? Theta views NanoTresan very positively, they gave it a purpose, protect it, pay it, and allow Theta some free time. The only thing Theta doesn't like about being owned is the possibility of being mind-wiped, and even though wiping a productive IPC like Theta is illogical, Theta understands that humans are not bound by logic like him. And conjunction with its travel Asperations, Theta would personally be free then owned.

Lastly IPCs provide a uniqne role-playing experance due to there purely logical thinking and how the EAL( encoded audio language) works. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: well the different between humans and IPCs is, IPCs can't eat! But being serously(and the fact that some IPC eat with the right upgrades), IPC act different to humans for a myriad resason, But the biggest is their way of thinking. Positronic brains(which IPCs run on) work on pure logical consciousness rather then the mix logical-emotional human brains, this causes IPCs to be incapable of feeling emotions like joy, anger, happyness, sadness, and fear. IPC can mimic, display, and understand to some extent to what those emotions mean, but they cannot enjoy being around someone or go stiff from fear without a logical resasoning for doing such an action; IPC also cannot do involentary actions due to their logical resasoning like involentary expressing anger or sadness in their voice. IPC can't regen or repair themselfs on their own, combine that with their purpose of self-perservation leads IPC players to act more carfully then their human counter parts. Speaking of purpose, the will of an IPC is solely on fulfilling their perpose, a IPC's perpose is their life mission and can range from cleaning the whole ship to having a collection of ever book in the Orion spur; What ever it is, an IPC's life is base around it, including their perpose of self-perservation which can lead them to abandon people if they are in danger of geting destroyed. ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: Zeppelin Theta Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived to the SCCV Horizon. Zeppelin Theta is a industral Xion base frame made by Xion Manufactoring Group (a subsidiary of Hephaestus Industries) in the year 2466 and was subsequently bought by Orion Express in a IPC bulk package. When it came Zeppelin Theta's time to activate, it was givin it's name along with its perpose of being a janitoral role within Orion Express. Before reaching it's spot on the esteemed SCCV Horizon, Zeppelin Theta worked on one of Orion Express' cargo depots and it made sure to keep it clean from the inside and due to Theta's EVA compatablity the outside too! But after a restructuring at the depot, Theta was moved to the SCCV Horizon due to it's EVA capabilities and experance. Due to Zeppelin Theta being so young, Zeppelin Theta's personality and speach is very robotic as Theta hasn't had much time to fully ingaging with organics or watch them interact with eachother. Byond it's self-perservation perpose Theta's view independent self is underdevelopted and Theta's sees it's self as only a machine that severs it's users. This causes Theta to see Humans as above it and to be passive to any action taken against it. Zeppelin Theata is dogmattly loyal to it's Human masters and will do anything to satisify them and it's perpose to clean the Horizon. How has the recent events of the Orion Spur impacted your character? Events such as the Phoron Scarcity, the Solarian Collapse or even the Invasions of Biesel for interstellar-wide affairs, while region-specific events such as the Peacekeeper Mandate, The Titan Rises or even Cold Dawn may impact your character. Due to it's age, Zeppelin Theata has no views on major events byond the offical statments and views of the megacorporations and of the stellar Corprate Conglomerate. It has no negitive views on any human goverments and is appathetic and naive to the way IPC are mistreated across the galaxy. The aforementioned major events have had an indereact effect on Zeppelin Theata, but it is unaware of this and the grand effects the effects it has on the spur. How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? Zeppelin Theata believes that absolute loyalty to Orion Express is the only acceptable way it can act. Zeppelin Theata expresses its gradatude to Hephaestus Industries for creating it and Orion Express for giving it perpose, and views freedom as illogical, dangourous, and against an IPCs perpose to serve humanty.
