I'm making a premature app for Vaurca because I've seen other people do it, and get notified they will be Pm'd when Vaurca are implemented. That kind of sounds like Vaurca are being produced, but maybe that's just my fantasy.

Probably made up of people who like the idea of Varcae and want their production to be sped up. Or maybe that's just me.

BYOND Key:Boltersam Character Names:Seed That Breaks The Earth Species you are applying to play:Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):Brown Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yep! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race:I want to play Vaurca specifically because even while they're not integrated yet, they're well-rounded with their advantages and disadvantages, they're really good at combat, for example, but if someone burns them they'll be more damaged than a human, and also because they're so unique, they have a hivemind, much like Xenomorphs, have inter-hive strife, every hive has a different mindset to the other, and can either integrate themselves well into inter-species society, or stick out like a sore thumb! My idea for what I would like to play a Vaurca as, is being mentally disabled from the shock of being ripped from my VR, making it so that I can only say simple words in Common, and I have no sense of politeness, I'm sure I could shock a chef if I climbed into his kitchen and ate his food, or if I attacked a monkey! I'd like character progression for my Vaurca to be used too, so that if someone took time out to roleplay teaching my Vaurca language, or manners and such, I would show those skills off in the future. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well, the fact that the hives as a majority can be entirely different from eachother, and a Vaurca could range from an intelligent scientist who occasionally eats test-monkeys ("Don't judge me!") to a primitive brute (such as I would aspire to play) who just plain off devours all of Genetic's monkeys, and runs away when Security begin pulling out stun batons. Character Name:Zaka'Akaix'Marith'Kaivu Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Marith had the standard childhood of a Vaurca, hatching from an egg, being a Lesser and Greater Larva, and growing into a Bound BA, basking in the VR paradise while his body toiled and fought for the Kaivu Hive. but one faithful day, he was ripped from his VR and become Unbound, the mental shock limiting his learning rate and leaving him with a simple mind. The Hive sent him to a station called Senti Prime, named after the Gas giant it orbited -Senti-. In the station Marith was reeling from the brightness of the lights, and retreated into the maintenance shafts, the darkness welcoming him. A search party was sent out, and when Marith was found he was hissing and quivering, shielding his eyes from the flashlights, when a crewmember tried to approach him, holding a flashlight, Marith lashed out and sliced his hand, making him drop the flashlight, which Marith then stomped on, and a Security team was brought in, along with a civilian A type Unbound Vaurca, who persuaded Marith not to lash out at the Security team, and wrapped a blindfold around Marith's eyes. when Marith was led out of the maintenance shafts, it was in shackles, and the crewmembers kept well away from him and the Security team who were escorting him, they were afraid of him. And then, he was re-located to a station called Aurora, which had been successful in integrating non-human species into the work environment, and there, the next story began. What do you like about this character? I like the adaptability I had, and the fact that instead of people expecting too much of me, they already know my character as primitive, and that I can act like an animal. Albeit one that has a limited vocabulary, but can understand people. Tajarans offer this to a small extent, but they're intelligent, whereas a Vaurca allows me to have a reason for being primitive and primal. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 6/10 Notes: IMPORTANT: just getting this out of the way, I know Varcae are not implemented, moving on. If I do get accepted when Varcae are implemented, I'm going to roleplay as a primitive brute who will eat monkeys and steal food and has no sense of politeness or manners, and can only speak some words in Common. This is important because I don't want to have to explain why I'm mauling a monkey or trespassing in the kitchen or elsewhere to an admin mid-round, where I could be making a daring escape, Security in close pursuit, instead of being swarmed, beaten, and cuffed while making a long explanation to a concerned/confused/angry admin.

--Accessing private employee records-- --Diona section: Seed That Breaks The Earth: selected-- Chosen name: The Seed That Breaks The Cracked Earth As The Blazing Sun Rises Over The Mountain ---Note: Head of Personnel drank a large bottle of wine after documenting this name--- Shortened name: Seed That Breaks The Earth Occupation: Engineer---Occupational Skills: Heavy repairs, EVA work--- --Overall Description by co-workers: "Seed's as big as an actual tree!"--"His heart's bigger than himself. and that's sayin' something."-- --Official description: "I'm not believing that B******* about Dionaea being smarter the bigger they are, you'd swear this thing is just a big lump of wood until you get it to fix something! just send the thing in the direction of a breach and lay back and relax, the thing's almost impossible to kill, who'd care if it got sucked into space? it's on minimum wage already!"-- --History: Seed was grown on a Skrell exploration ship and from its own account, it learned to do small repairs around the ship. when the ship docked at a station to fuel, an official spotted Seed when he was negotiating the price for fuel with the Skrell captain, and made an offer of employment to Seed. the Skrell captain haggled the price, but the official managed to get the Diona for 100 credits, the official was then promoted for their ability at being an astonishing haggler, also known as: cheapskate. the Diona was assigned as an engineering apprentice for several shifts until their skill was deemed valuable enough to promote them, yet unbeknowest to the Diona. it is being paid minimum wage. sources doubt that the Diona would care, as it has shown great love for its work and its co-workers.-- --Employee image: Not obtained.-- (ie: I'm busy with school and maybe I'll find time to draw a picture of Seed when things calm down.)

Character Complaint - Nukes 8.25.2015
Boltersam replied to Japak121's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I'm sorry, but I was miles away from the station. earlier on in the round I had been thrown into a force field by the singularity and got shot miles away, into an asteroid. the only place I was able to get to that was even remotely connected to the station was the mining outpost, but the shuttle wasn't there so I still couldn't get back, so I spent a while wandering around trying to find the station before getting bored and ghosting. If you want my input on my teammates actions, the original plan was to blow up telecoms, and disable the generator of the station, and then move over to medical and take the crew in medical hostage. and also to steal their organs to sell, but that was later on. -
Diona Whitelist Application

Oh, I apologise, I'm not well-versed in the forums. I believe I played Aurora a long time ago, as I had a character made.I came back a few days ago. Well, there's no fixed time for when I'm on, but right now I'm just on whenever I can, I'll be on less often when I'm back to school, which will be in 7 days, it depends on which time zone you're in, but I'm in UTC, I'll usually be on in mid-day and in the afternoon, when I go back to school I will only be on in the afternoon, and probably not that often because, though I'm in my last year, I've got the toughest teacher, and I'll probably be dealing with a lot of homework, I'll definitely be on as often as I can, as Aurora is a very enjoyable station to play on and the community is very welcoming. -
BYOND Key:Boltersam Character Names:John Cutter (current), Sam Johnson (old) Species you are applying to play:Diona What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race:I want to play this race because I like the idea of a gentle giant, and to that effect Dionae are like walking trees, and they can do things that humans can't do. but, there are limitations. I feel, that in many games, aliens and humans don't have to work together, because they don't have strengths that make up for their ally's limitations, but on this server, Dionae can get into oxygen-deprived environments without the need for internals, however, they cannot be in darkness for too long, to this extent humans can deal with problems in dark areas of the station, and the Dionae can assist in working outside of the station, and as I've observed, whether a subconscious, or conscious decision, Diona players are usually in jobs that require care, such as Medical, and Botany, and also in jobs that may require them to be in low-oxygen environments, such as Engineering. I usually play a hot-headed, former gang-member Assistant, John Cutter, but I want to broaden my roleplaying, a slow, kind giant will do so, and I believe it will be fun to play with. as well as this, the fact that Dionae can revert to their child-form after their grown body dies is incredibly interesting in the biology-wise part of my mind. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:Dionae are slow, physically, and mentally, but kind. whereas humans can be hot-headed and great scientists, the slow and peaceful state of mind that dionae live in is a sharp contrast to the irrational thinking of the many humans across the universe, and I feel that if need be, Dionae can be fierce in protection of their friends. This deep kind of connection Dionae are capable of forming with others is appealing to me, as while humans will betray you for money, or even for something as honourable as helping Security, a Diona will break all the rules just to ensure that its friends are safe. Character Name:The Seed That Breaks The Earth Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphsAs a nymph, The Seed That Breaks The Earth lived on a Skrell science ship, learning the inner workings of the ship from Diona Engineers, The Seed That Breaks The Earth moved about the habitat module, spotting small problems before they became a big problem, this helpful nymph was destined to become an Engineer. as it grew, it became more and more involved in maintaining the ship, being given tools of its own and assigned low-priority jobs. one day, the Skrell ship stopped to refuel at Aurora. the still-young Diona wondered at the humans and the almost-living machine servants known as sythethics, for The Seed That Breaks The Earth had never encountered these wonders before. while the chief engineer of the station was speaking with the Skrell captain about the refuelling cost, a Nanostrasen official walked over from his brief discussion with two security officers "What do we have here?" noticing the Skrell Engineering outfit that The Seed wore. "Hey there little fellah, do you like being an engineer?" When the young Diona replied that he did, the official clapped his hands "Well, how would you like to work here? Aurora's a little short-handed, and we'll pay you the same as everyone else, what do you say?" The Seed considered the man's offer for a moment and turned to the Skrell captain, who had finished his discussion with the chief engineer "Sir, is it okay for me to work here?" Naturally, the Skrell was aggravated that one of his engineers wanted to leave and work at a Nanostrasen station, but when the official said he'd pay exactly one thousand credits for The Seed, his mind was changed. "of Course you can, Seed, be careful out there, and make some friends among the crew, I think you'll like humans." and so was the young Diona's fate sealed, his life now existed to combat the many tragedies that befell the station's machinery, once fully grown, the Diona was nearly as tall and broad as a tree, honed by the hours toiling on the station, he's made friends among the crew, and he's settled in. What do you like about this character? I like this character because I intend to play him as a gentle giant, that when provoked, or if his friends are provoked, can be extremely fierce in his and their defence, as I usually play as a hot-headed human, I think this will be a breath of fresh air, and a completely new experience, that, and the interesting matter that Dionae can become a nymph once more if their adult body is destroyed, is appealing to me, and with a little practise, I think I can properly roleplay a slow, yet kind, giant. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 6/10. I'm not going to rate myself higher, because I know I can't compare myself to the roleplayers I know, but I believe that after some practise I can adjust to different roleplaying styles, and become better.
