  1. I'm not sure if it helps out Vaurca, but we already have imidazoline for eye damage
  2. Revolution and Mutiny are game modes that are generally accepted to have flimsy reasoning at best, because they are violent revolts resulting from pay docks and temporary restrictions on leisure activity during a relatively limited work shift on a station that we all accept the characters do not actually stay on for very long. It would make a lot more sense if the PCs inhabited the Aurora on a a more permanent basis and this was messing up their lives, but that's not how we play the game, so the whole thing sort of falls apart. I understand that they can usually be expected to fall apart, but it hadn't even really began when it did. By that I mean, what you said is that the Rev begins because of the pay docks and so on. The revolution began before this was ever announced. How ever the game mode works, it was either a mess with no RP, or a mess with no RP and no IC reasons to revolt.
  3. Perhaps I misunderstood the game mode altogether, how the revolution actually begins, etc. Perhaps they have some IC reason, although I personally doubt it. But there is no denying that for the entire round, the revolutionaries barely, if at all, roleplayed. Yes, I was salty after I died, however, I wasn't mad that I died. It was how I died. That was meant to be an example of the lack of roleplay during the round, and I'm positive there were others that died without roleplay as well, as stated in my complaint. I'm sorry if it seemed purely out of salt, and that I totally confused IC reason with roleplay in general.

Almost as soon as the heads of staff told the crew about their pays, there was the unrest, as always. But even worse, thats when their revolution begun. They were promised the heads were trying to fix this, get their pay back maybe, etc. But it just didn't matter. In the end, a bunch of people were killed with a severe lack of RP, myself included. I don't know very many details of the round other than this big breaking of rules, and this would be against most of the revolution players, if there weren't so many that round. Approximate Date/Time: (The date and time of the incident. Date is more important but both are helpful)December 20, 2015, ended at 5:08PM.
  5. That chef round.. Yeah, that was me alright. I made the meat cake and cereal. Don't remember the deep fried egg. I didn't mean to be chef, I just had it on low, with IA on never. Mistakes were made.

  7. BYOND key:LilSh4 Character names:Charlie Stough, Lucas Bickerson, Andrew Anderson How long have you been playing on Aurora?:I started playing a couple months before October, I think. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?:Roles to play, roles to learn, and something new for my Space Station 13 experiences. Why did you come to Aurora?:Unbound Travels went down, and Aphelion had generally low population and constant skeletal crews. I tried Aurora and found it fun after a while. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?:Of course! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:Roleplay is just what it says, playing a role. What it should be about in immersing yourself in the role of someone else, which of course means playing that captain role correctly, not as if you were a clown in command. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:If Duty Officers could be said to be IC moderators without the powers, Heads of Staff could be compared to trial moderators. Or just players that are expected to make attempts to keep the station in order, you know. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:Whitelisted players should serve as examples for the community. Being whitelisted means you've been trusted by the staff to play an important part of the round. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name:Charlie Stough Character age:58 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Charlie Stough was born in New Gibson, the Biesel Republic, on January 29, 2399. Had an average childhood, no different from the last baby. Fast forward to 2422, Charlie Stough is now 23 years old, and he's struck his first independent contract as a miner, working until 2426. Charlie stough is 27 years old, and he's just now enrolled in St. John's university. During his four years there, he's done countless small and odd jobs for a living. At the end of the 4 years, he finally earned a Bachelor's degree in business and management. He was now 31 years old. However, now its 2430 and Charlie Stough decided to get a late start at 31 years old, going for Security Officer at Nanotrasen. Naturally, he initially signed his contract as a cadet. For 3 years, he worked as a cadet, shadowing officers and studying Corporate Regulations, learning how to use weaponry, etc. At the end of the 3 years, he's finally earned his position as a Security Officer, level 1. He worked ten years as an officer, and moved up to Security Officer, level 2. At this point, Charlie Stough is now 44 years old, and due to certain parts of his body being replaced with prosthetic limbs due to accidents, he moved to the Cargo department. 2443, and Stough has just completed Nanotrasen's Introduction to Management Course on board the NMSS Odin, and happily signs his contract for QuarterMaster for another 10 years. 2453, Charlie Stough is 54 years old. He's applied for Internal Affairs, signing the loyalty implant consent form and taking an advanced level-two psychological screening. With his Business/Management degree and previous work experience(Totally a coincidence) helping him, he's finally able to sign his contract for IA, and has worked in this position until this very day. What do you like about this character?:What do I like? An old man heading his way up the chain of command, nothin' new, nothin' great. I wouldn't call Stough a snowflake, either. Call me out if I'm wrong. Stough is just like Joe. Know what I'm sayin'? He also does his job. What do you dislike about this character?:Charlie Stough's history is probably similar to many, in the way of a bunch of Security experience in the past. I could be wrong, but it seems a lot of people have it. Basically, Stough isn't anything too new. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?:What? We were supposed to be fit for the job? Of course Stough is fit for it! For starters, his Internal Affairs career and previous NanoTrasen employments give him at least the basic qualifications. Next, Stough does his job. Paperwork will be done. Personnel will be dealt with properly and issues shall be settled. After all, if he gets a promotion, he's got a department to run! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: If I must rate my own.. An 8/10 at most. Extra notes:I would prefer others rate my roleplaying, I'm never sure if I'm rating myself too high or not.
  8. Byond key:LiLSh4 Character names:Lucas Bickerson, Andrew Anderson, Charlie Stough What times are you available? In GMT: 8PM to 3AM, I believe. If GMT is 5 hours ahead of EST. Do you have any experience with Moderating? Or similar. Not really, unless you count a small bit of Internal Affairs. Why do you want to be a Duty Officer? Its a role I haven't played, and a role I want to learn. Its like an IAA that becomes part of command, if not above command every now and then within a round with certain issues. Thats how I interpret it, anyways. How well can you handle stress?Well enough to not let it affect me fulfulling my Duties as a well.. Duty Officer. What does it mean to be a Duty Officer? It means to be one of the guys the crew fall back on if IAA, Command, and/or Security just can't handle the situation, while an ERT isn't necessary. Make sense? How active on the forums and server are you?I check the forums every now and then but rarely post. I've been a little inactive lately on the server but I'm playing a lot more now. Anything else to add?Not really.
  9. So, I've noticed on a particular Mutiny round on the server, as well as a Nuke Ops round where I played as one of the Operatives, the command staff, mostly the captain and head of personnel, are very vulnerable. By that I mean the Captain's office probably shouldn't be right by open space, but one suggestion at a time, right? Its just too simple to take a captain or HoP hostage. Maybe they're just not good at using their self defense weapons, but I think there should be something like the Blueshield Guard on some other servers, a body guard for the captain, if not the heads of staff in general. I think they should, on code green, be able to have a shotgun loaded with beanbag shells, but only while escorting or within the bridge, except maybe on code blue they could go outside with the gun. They could also have a sidearm, such as a pistol similar the Head of Personnel's, or maybe a ballistic one that shoots rubber bullets. In case of emergency, they'd have a small "armoury" which may hold lethal shotgun rounds, and/or carbines/ion rifles/laser rifles. Thats all I really have on the suggestion for now, thanks.
  10. So, I messed up the dates? Woops. I thought the year was 2547. I will change them to make those correct. As for Arkin's responses, the main reason its both was due to me being unsure if I could stick with that 9.9/10% of the time. I think I'll find a compromise instead.
  11. I understand where y'all are coming from. I see all the major flaws in Bickerson's behavior and all, etc.. So yeah, I'm happy to fix my habits of bossing people about.
  12. While a little of what slc said Bickerson tends to do did happen here, the CMO escalated the situation way too much. Rather than telling/asking first, he went straight to it. He then claimed assault of a head of staff when Bickerson took action, by simply flashing him to get him to stop after the CMO was told to stop. He then afterwards tried to abuse the power of acting captain to detain him, where no officers obeyed. I think most of security saw he was way out of line, and I see Bickerson was as well, but only with how he treated the Captain. If anyone from that time in security doesn't see that, I'm just speaking from what I saw.
  13. I don't remember Bickerson saying sec matters aren't their issue, however, the acting-captain you're likely referring to was trying to abuse their power. The captain of course, trying to allow that acting-captain to overstep regulations. I do understand he's too abrasive, and about acting as the HoS, that only happens without an HoS. I learned how to play SS13, and have played until now believing the Warden steps up in that case. I treat the orders he give as more of requests, although they seem like orders because well, I just have that habit, which I should indeed break. About listening to himself, I've only played with you a few times so I'm sure I know what you're talking about, and I feel like it was justified. Would you not go save a man who looks to be near-death? Also, regarding that first issue you brought up about him ignoring higher-ups, I know what you mean. Thank you for your comments, hope what I said makes sense to you and justifies what I believe is justified.
  14. BYOND key:LilSh4 Character names:Lucas Bickerson How long have you been playing on Aurora?:One to two months Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?:I enjoy playing a head of staff every now and then, as well as becoming better at playing that department through that role, with basic knowledge, of course. Why did you come to Aurora?:The server I played before Aurora had a lower population, where there was often half a crew at most, if I remember correctly. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?:Of course! When I'm unsure about something, I usually ask around or refer right back to it. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:Roleplaying is being put in a situation as a certain person or role, and you must fulfill that role and do what you really think that person would do in the situation, not just what they should do. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:To keep order, kind of like In Character anti-grief, as well as be that IC helper, helping newer players within their departments through IC and LOOC, since sometimes just Ahelp and OOC instructions may not help as well. Their other purpose is to keep players in their department busy- Whether thats asking for someone's assistance with something not too small, or handing out quick, yet reasonable orders to keep them from passing out of boredom. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:Whitelisted players are trusted to roleplay properly and be able to perform their role without breaking any lore or character, and generally being irresponsible. Whitelisted players should make sure that even other players get the most enjoyment from the character they play. Example being if a Tajaran went around ripping off limbs, they shouldn't be whitelisted at all. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name:Lucas Bickerson Character age:49 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):Lucas Bickerson was born on July 8th, 2398 on Mars. Bickerson was able to live a decent life on Mars, in Olympia, in a middle-class family. He went through the average course of education, and immediately searched for a job in 2423. He found his job in a federal prison, as an officer. He recieved basic combat training and education of the law, and began his work as a security officer. Until 2427 he worked effectively in breaking up fights and transferring prisoners around, and he rose up to the Warden position for another five years. August 20th, 2432, a prisoner had mysteriously managed to acquire a gun, whether it was corruption or the ways of unknown terrorists only known vaguely by some as the Syndicate, and they took out an officer while moving to the cafeteria. This led to prisoners acquiring the officer's weapons and almost led to a large-scale break-out, thus ending Bickerson's career as a Warden in the prison. Bickerson immediately searched for work so he could keep himself afloat, and found work in Hephaestus Industries, working his next 12 years there until he left to work for NanoTrasen in 2444, serving as a security officer or warden. What do you like about this character?:Bickerson does what he believes is right, even to the point of disobeying orders in certain situations, while otherwise doing his job to the best of his ability. Of course, the implant wouldn't allow the whole disobeying part. What do you dislike about this character?:Bickerson sometimes rushes into dangerous situations, often screwing it up and putting himself in danger, if not the rest of security. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?:Bickerson does his best to insure security on board the station. This goes from jumping into space on a manhunt for a very dangerous alien near the station to rushing over to arrest the chemist or scientist making an illegal bomb, or just simple burglary. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?:On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate my roleplaying to be a 6 or 7, as I understand that every now and then I'll mess something up, whether its how Bickerson's acting, or how when I'm a traitor, I'm sure I tend to overthink things. Extra notes:This was my first Whitelist application, thanks for reading, I'm looking forward to any criticism.
