  1. Aye; I was speaking in the more general sense, but yes, you're correct.
  2. As a few of you may recollect, items that go on your head (Such as eyepatches, hair pins, etc.) with no literal use of cover in real life, protect you from things spraying in your eyes/face/mouth. Am I disappointed to see a cool acid trap fail because a woman's eye-patch/hair pin melted off and protected them from the literal cloud of acid? Perhaps when I want to pepperspray that one annoying fella that's running all over the place, so it's hard to get a bead on him with a flash. Pepperspray out-- But fuck, his eye-patch was on. Guess his entire face is protected from my 5 million scolvia pepperspray. Although I'm horrendous at best at Space Station 13 and BYOND coding, I think it'd be as simple as adding a line of code for a few minimalistic items such as these. if eye/mouth/face protection = 0, there is no protection if eye/mouth/face protection = 1 (Like Sec/Med HUDs, sunglasses, gas masks) stops reagent. This is pretty small in comparison to other things, but it's pretty annoying to have a beaker of acid ready to pour on someone's face, only for their hair pin to melt off and them escape completely unscathed.
  3. This post took right the hell off-- Zero to a hundred real quick! I've had to personally arrest Seon about seven times to my recollection, all of which were kind of silly. Silly in the sense that I was going "What is even going on." half the time. She legitimately says over comms every now and then, "Fuck cops." literally just because. I think I've heard it about four times now where there had been no reason or build-up to actually state that beforehand, literally just "Fuck Security." With everything she does, she'd honestly get a psychiatric examination for Tourettes, ADHD, and undoubtedly some form of mental illness if she'd pull a knife on someone and start stabbing them with the intent to kill because she got her face slapped. If you were arrested for a minor crime, your file is looked at by Nanotrasen. If you're arrested for a major crime, you'd more than likely get fired less than three days after the incident occurs. If you have a long history of both, trailing back a little less than a month? Something doesn't quite add up. It's not to say that I don't like the character, she just needs to be tweaked. Along with her flavor text. Like...really. Adjust her behavior, adjust that flavor text, change her state of mind from a toddler to an adult.
  4. The actual post is up now! Check it out here! http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=4500
  5. A charming gentleman in a clean black suit, red tie, and black leather shoes sits down in a comfortable-looking arm chair that must have cost at least two thousand credits. His face and upper half are obscured in the shadows, and the only thing serving to illuminate him is the draw of his cigar as with a drag of his breath, his wrinkling mouth is illuminated by a warm, red glow. Major Livingstone steps up to his desk, and salutes. The man, even though with a shadowed expression, nods to her. She takes her seat, folding one leg over the other as in comparison, the chair seating her looks tiny. "Sir, the reports from the Scout team are in. Apparently, we've lost the locale of the Bluespace Crystal Sanctuary." Another drag of his cigar is the only thing indicating that he'd be paying attention to her. Knowing this man all too well, she continues on. "The chip as you may know, holds the co-ordinates for the best Bluespace site in existence. It may even be the largest, most richly-filled crystal formation in the galaxy. While my men were bringing the drive back to us, they were ambushed by Clover Navigations. We lost the chip, and it's undoubtedly in one of their compounds right now, pending transit to their headquarters. At which point, there'll be no retrieving it." The Major uncrossed her legs, and stood up, presenting a file she'd been concealing against her side up until this point. "This is how I propose we get the chip back. With your authorization, I'll be mobilizing a hard-hitting team to infiltrate the compound, and get us that chip. We're talking billions here, sir." The man in front of her, the Major knew, was staring into her eyes, even though his own were non-visible. She kept the determined, serious expression as she stared right back. Then, with a raise of his hand and one final drag of his cigar, he pressed the ignited end into an ash tray on his desk, and interlocked his fingers. "Get me my damned chip back." Hello, all! That was the backstory for the mission that'll be taking place where six people will be participating in. While the votes were 12:1, I simply can't keep up with twelve people in a RP at once, so I halved it. Six individual people is already pushing it, but we'll see how we do, given that it won't be a novel's length. (At least, hopefully.) How I plan on going about this is simple: I'm going to post a character sheet here, and anyone interested will take that format, fill in the required details, and post it once I give the all-clear. Anyone posting their character sheet before my all-clear will not be accepted under any circumstances. So wait, this kinda sounds like first-come, first-serve! That's because it is. I don't want to go through a comparison process of however many people wanting to be the team leader for instance, so if you're first, you get what you want. However, just remember that every single role will be vital to completing this mission. Believe it or not, missions fail sometimes, and people die. That being said, death is a very real possibility, and once you're dead, you're out of the roleplay unless a special circumstance occurs. Hardcore? Yeah, that's the point! Think of this like a friendly roleplay game of futuristic Dark Souls. I've said that anyone posting a CS (Character Sheet) before I give the all-clear will not be accepted. However, if you really would like to be the team's medic for instance, feel free to advertise that on this forum. An example would be: "Hey, guys. This is the rough outline of my character, and I'd really like to be the team's [insert role here]. I'm sure we can work something out if someone else wants to be the [insert role here]." Friendly, direct, and simple. That's all I want. I've read enough, let me see what I have to fill in! Lore/additional info summary: IMPORTANT, READ. The titles with a * on them are required information. Anyone failing to adhere to that, unfortunately, will be disqualified. Although some titles are optional, it's fully recommended that you fill out each and every one of them so I can really get a feel for your characters. It's also worthy to note that in Ocitox Intergalactic, the majority of the staff are Humans. That's not to say that you can't have your badass Unathi berserker, they just aren't going to fit in well with the rest of the crew, in most situations. Other than that, you make your character how you want. Just keep in mind that dying is an unfortunate truth that may very well happen in this roleplay. You may include characters that you've already made in SS13 on here, by all means. Almost anything is acceptable, within the terms that I've outlined throughout this post. However, in the instance where your character is not up to par or something has been incorrectly done that I've failed to mention so far, I'll make sure to notify you so you can change a few things around. It is not my intention to deny anyone what they'd like to see in this mission, I just want everything running as smoothly and correctly as possible. The team will be comprised of the following: A Team Leader, a Combat(?) Medic, an Infiltrator/hacker, a Heavy Weapons Expert, a Combat Engineer, and an additional auxiliary role that has yet to be determined. ((Note, feel free to give suggestions on this role. It shouldn't be within the jurisdiction of another member of the team, i.e. a specialist with a grenade launcher, chemical grenades, and a healing kit. It's just not going to sit well with the others, nor will it sit well with myself. I'm giving one person a certain bit of creativity here in what they'd like to be within the guidelines; It's completely up to them. Note however, that if it is unacceptable, I'll be privately messaging you about it. If you are interested in doing said auxiliary role, after Team Role, type (Aux) Ex: Team Role: (Aux) [role] Character sheet! Brief overview/recurring points: If I deem your character unacceptable, I will talk to you. If you attempt to reinforce the fact that your character is okay even though I've explained why they're not, you will not be permitted to participate. I aim to keep everything fair for everyone, and my one goal is for everyone to have fun. Virtually anything in your imagination (As long as it's within reason) can happen in this roleplay/story, and I want you to contribute to that. You make your character how you want. Of course if there are some unacceptable bits, those will be dealt with by myself. I'd like to remind everyone participating that your characters may die with the blink of an eye, depending on a D20 roll. It's imperative that if your character dies or something happens to them that you don't like, do not take it as an attack against you or your character personally. I am to create a realistic, enjoyable story for everyone to read. What's a good story without one of your favorite characters biting the dust unexpectedly? Will his/her comrades avenge his death? Will they take him/her back on the ship for a proper funeral? Or will they just leave his/her body as they're under heavy fire, sprinting to their EVAC while getting picked off one-by-one? This is an environment that I'd like to create for everyone, but everyone should also know that some unexpected things could happen, and will happen. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. Other than that, shoot for the stars, make some believable characters, and await my all-clear! Extra:
  6. I actually didn't think this'd get so much support, it means a lot!
  7. It seems like you enjoy writing up paragraph upon paragraph-length posts. Luckily for you, we share the same interest! I'd like to make a few things abundantly clear before I fully respond to you. I did not file a complaint against someone just because they didn't like my whitelist. Right after they ghosted, I planned on making the complaint and I couldn't post it until the round was over, as per the rules of the forum. Callabaddie changed their Whitelist vote almost immediately after ghosting, so there's nothing I can say about that except that it's a coincidence that you apparently took notice on and assumed me wrong in that regard. I'll forgive you for that, but it simply isn't true. I don't believe I was told by Killerhurtz personally that the issue had been dealt with, and had no knowledge of it "being dealt with" other than his input on the complaint. I still find it very distasteful how a Security officer may falsify records, spread slander, attempt to attack Anja, and then ghost out as an escape when they're caught, and continue playing Security like nothing happened at all. It's even mentioned how they didn't help Anja when she was asking for it dealing with six murderers and one person who attempted to break them out solely because of "You're not my boss, you can't order me around." Am I going to file a complaint against that person? Yes. Security isn't supposed to be filled with people like that, they're supposed to be smart, breathing, actual people who don't watch someone haplessly go about trying to organize seven prisoners for the rest of the shift and not even lift a finger to help, only offer remarks that were meant to make Anja even more upset than she already was. But hey, enough talking about the past. What happened happened. As for the very start of your point, involving that contradiction, it's called, putting on a show. That's a part of her personality believe it or not, Ihintza very much wants to serve aboard the NSS Aurora. Because, believe it or not, she is a living, breathing human being. Not literally of course, as that'd be a bit strange. I can only show so much with her in the paragraph I was supposed to write, and I felt like this was a nice touch of adding in both mental and physical capability. It doesn't leave a whole lot for personality-- Hence why I attempt to add in a few little quirks here and there from Ihintza. Contrary to your belief apparently, I am making characters that are not, in fact, perfect. My "very short time" is actually two months, now. I'm not sure if you simply haven't seen me playing on the server in this time, or you just want to have this for more filler in your points against me, but I've been here for a while, and Ihintza was my first character I had in the works. I really wanted her on the station, which is why I waited two weeks(ish) by playing Ove. (The youngest sister, a bartender) I called the question "Iffy" because that's exactly what it is. It itself is a bit of a contradictory question, "What is the OOC purpose of a head of staff in-game"?...OOC and IC and two very different things, as bluntly as I can say, and while it can be argued that they "Are an example of all that is good in this community, watch them sparkle as they lead everyone ever onward!" I however, don't see them that way. They're here to lead, yes, they're not here to be a "Beacon of light" for everyone who isn't whitelisted. I'd also like to make note of how you say that you haven't interacted with me in-game, yet you go on a very long spiel about how I am too emotionally attached to my characters, I don't know how to make good, living characters, I need to look at your "guide" on how to do it right, etc etc. Well. I'm fine with your opinion about my characters, I don't agree with you, but an opinion is an opinion. Once you link me to a "guide" on making characters that you made though, is when I feel insulted. How can you tell me that I don't know how to create characters when you yourself have stated that you haven't seen, or interacted with them in character? A man walks up to a bartender. He asks what type of drinks he has available. He lists three drinks which have one main ingredient, vodka. However, the drinks themselves are named differently, and they are quite clearly distinct. "Well, sir. I don't think you know how to run your bar properly," says the patron. "Here, let me come inside and show you how to make drinks correctly." That bartender sure doesn't appreciate a patron coming up to him and telling him how to make his three unique drinks, even more so that he's never even sampled the bartender's stock before. I'm going to ask you to respectfully back off in this regard, as my characters are indeed well-made. This is not me refusing constructive criticism; I fully understand that while your post has an undertone of bashing me, you maintain the front that this is all for my benefit. That I fully understand, but I don't appreciate you telling me that three fictional people that I made somehow resemble me and I want to try my hardest to be like them in-game. They're just three sisters man, c'mon. Ihintza does in fact have a weakness. All of my characters do. With Ove, she doesn't abide by the law to the extent of Ihintza, nor even Anja. She's care-free, and she doesn't care what happens around her. Bar fight? Go right ahead. Someone pulls a knife on her? She'll give you her money without a fight. Anja, is perhaps the easiest to manipulate. She's over-confident, and wants to be like her older sister in every regard possible. She'll do anything to be successful like her. So much so that she'll even get a cocky edge and do whatever she thinks is the best course of action, and take it. Is this always the correct way to go about things? Of course not, this is a young woman, aspiring for greatness, who flies too close to the sun. Ihintza, I'd rather not speak about at the moment for I want everyone to personally experience her before I just spoil everything about her. I want to show with Ihintza, not tell. I'll be more than happy to tell you her weaknesses after she's revealed, but for now, I am going to abstain from speaking about her. Like I've been saying before, Ihintza is putting on a show for the Nanotrasen representative. Do they want to see a Head of Security shaking in her boots, stammering, and looking unsure of themself? Or do they want someone who looks like they know what they're doing, they know how they should look, what they should do, and bring enough confidence to back themselves up. That's Ihintza. It's almost like you've never even heard of a passionate, determined individual before. I don't believe that making a woman who very much wants to aspire for even higher greatness is mary sue-ish, in fact, I believe she's a rather strong female character, who has plenty of personality. She just didn't show it because that's not what she was there for. Nanotrasen wants results, productivity, efficiency. How dare I show that this Head of Security can bring all of those things to the table, am I right? I did not in fact, "judge before I knew the baseline". I waited for a full week, playing and observing every day, as Ove the bartender and Ove the ghost, to confirm my suspicions. Now, call me crazy. But on a high-roleplay server, Security members are to be held to a high regard, with there being a what, ten-day whitelist on them? Well darn, I sure hope they are as good as I think! Though time and time again, I'm seeing officers wordlessly slap cuffs on/taser people into submission without so much as a word, only even deigning to speak once the subject in question has woken up, and the only words are, "You are under arrest." I'm not even joking, in my first week, I've seen that happen (And I shit you not) seven times. A few of them were justifiable, as in, the subject attacked the officer or ran away, but I did in fact ahelp the majority of them. Once I heard from the administration that this was in fact, not how everyone is supposed to act, or in your terms, this was not the "base line", I formed my hypothesis that the Security team aboard the Aurora needs some major work. Why shouldn't I be the one to bring change to it? I understand why you don't post my application, even if I don't agree with what you're saying. In my opinion, you're forming assumptions against me based on me at my worst and things that you've heard from other people about my characters. Yet, you haven't made the effort or simply weren't on at the correct time to actually see them in action, according to your claims. I find this disrespectful and a little insulting that you wouldn't even wait to view me IC, even more so that you assume I was playing on Aurora for only a week. I'm going to respectfully encourage you to step down from your claims of "Me being new, not knowing how to make characters, and salting people because they -1'd your application". I don't believe any of these are true, and you just come across as speaking without all of the information down, while claiming you know all of the information. I respect and understand your post, but to conclude my rather lengthy one, I do not agree with what you are saying about me. I'd like for this to be the final message barring a Staff member's interjection on my Whitelist app, as I was informed that it was to be accepted. Thank you for reading.
  8. I'll be typing up a reply to this somewhat later in the day, I don't have enough time at the moment.
  9. http://puu.sh/lW3od/f054e531ce.png To my knowledge, Heads of Staff cannot be under the age of thirty, due to discrepancies with how much training and experience they need.
  10. Quite frankly, I'm going to support this. I've seen the ERT played exactly like a DS multiple times on this server, and every time it's nothing but the members completely disregarding everything they should actually uphold.
  11. Appreciate the support!
  12. Hey, there! Being the aspiring novelist that I am, I'm currently writing a sci-fi book in the hopes of being published. And, making this known, I've recently seen Gollee's post about how they made a story which added characters that other people contributed. You can find the original post here: http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=1271 Regardless, since I don't want to go into a whole spiel about something that people might not have interest in, so I'll leave a straw poll for everyone to vote on. If the majority of the votes by 12/16/15 (And there has to be at least 7 votes!) are positive, then I'll see about creating a format/sheet for anyone who's interested. Until then though, you'll have to vote! I plan on making this into a rough D&D story of sorts. That is, everyone involved will post on the appropriate forum, and I'll act as the GM. Everything will be decided by a simple D20 roll. That includes combat, speaking to NPCs, retrieving something that may be useful without setting off an alarm, etc. I won't go into much detail about it now, but I'll give everyone this. I plan on making the story a retrieval mission similar to XCOM, set in the SS13 universe, (Though it's non-canon.) with at least four people participating. I'm not sure where I want to set the cap yet, it all depends on the votes in the straw poll. Voting has now ended. The results were 12:1, in favor of accepting the story.
  13. It's only just now that I've finally gotten some sleep, and something to eat, that I've officially calmed down. I realize that what I was doing last night was unacceptable, and that damaged my credibility quite a bit. I'd just like everyone to understand why I was so upset. I had to deal with six murderers and one vandalism attempt (To break the prisoners out) all attempting to unbuckle and uncuff themselves, while screaming insults at me the entire time. Callabaddie, AKA Samantha Curnow, just watched me struggle the entire time. If you'd take a look at my complaint against them, you'd see that the reason they didn't help was because, almost quite literally, "I'm too good for that. I'm not going to help, you can't boss me around." I know that I've got doubt circling me now because of last night, but please keep in mind that that was when I was at my worst. It was 12 AM, I was starving, and I was assailed over and over again by seven people in the Communal Brig who were serial killers. And those six serial killers were supposed to be watched until the Transfer shuttle comes, but Callabaddie decided to be petty enough to run off whenever I'd asked her for help, because "I don't take orders from you." It's honestly stressing me out enough to the point of my body physically hurting, that I've received so much malice due to my own temper that a person like this is actually getting support. Do I regret making such posts, attempting to get a rise out of Callabaddie in OOC, and everything else I've done last night? Absolutely. I've made some very clear mistakes, and for that, I sincerely apologize. Does that mean I shouldn't be given this whitelist however, because of one bad round? I don't believe so. Everyone has their bad days, and from personal experience, I'm sure quite a few of you can recollect that I myself am not a horrible person, contrary to what I've shown last night. I understand that what I was doing was unacceptable and not befitting of this community, but I can solemnly promise that it isn't going to happen again. The thing that set me off the most was the fact that Callabaddie was just deliberately trolling me and trying to make me mad. When someone tries to make me mad just to be that way, that's when I actually do get quite upset. I understand the individuals who are giving me -1s, but I'd also plead with you to reconsider. Everyone has their bad moments, and that was mine. I don't believe that I should be scorned for another month and a half before I can make another whitelist just because I was horribly angry for two hours last night. I really am sorry.
  14. As is stands, I'd like to formally apologize and make my regret known that I posted my complaint in such a callous and brash manner. I hadn't gotten much sleep, I was starving, and I was still quite upset from the Rev round to keep my sanity in check, and so, you've seen the rather rude side of me. Again, I apologize for any offense/discomfort I may have caused. I'm pleasantly stuffed, of relatively sound mind, and I'm perfectly calm now. I also want to make it known that I regret not putting in Killerhurtz's name as the staff member overlooking this situation. I do not know why I failed to put their name in, and I am truly sorry for any confusion it may have caused. I did in fact Ahelp Samantha Curnow ghosting after their arrest. That being said, allow me to more clearly put into perspective what my side details. 1:) Looking through this, I have to say, I'm even mildly offended and a bit appalled that you're already lying, and from the fact that this very character (Who is over 6' tall according to her flavor text by the way,) is essentially a copy-cat from mine own, the one you've seen on my Whitelist app. I find it very strange how you insult her by calling her an athletic, over-qualified Mary Sue when you're literally playing one, and may I add, a copy-cat from my own. I'd like to think that Anja doesn't make "Rookie mistakes". If you could please provide me with a detailed description or recollection of this, I'd be more than happy. But when you me'd laughing and claim that you weren't equipped, I saw you in a helmet, gas mask, Sec belt, armor, black gloves, an executive suit, and dress or jackboots, I can't remember. You were fully equipped, and you decided to leave regardless. I may be confusing this with another incident where you just stood around and watched me struggle, but I'm fairly certain that you just decided not to help me. 2:) That's correct, she isn't a Head of Security. But when an officer is asking for your help with seven inmates who continuously try to unbuckle themselves, screaming insults all the while, while being murderers, and she sees an Officer who is literally just standing outside the window watching her attempt to pacify everyone, of course she's going to be yelling at you to help. This is the equivalent of saying that a prison guard in real life getting their ass beat in calls for help, only to have another guard say, "Nah, man. I had way too much training, this is below me." Who then proceeds to watch his co-worker die, sipping a mug right outside the jail bars the entire time. 3:) This further accentuates the fact that your character does not belong on the Security team. Trying to stress out an already-stressed out person who's handling six murderers at once just to make them even more upset is not something you should do. 4:) Unfortunately, your views on letting a prisoner die under someone's care and mine are rather different. This could also be attributed to the fact that you literally stood and watched me trying to keep everyone in check but decided to just stand there the entire time, not bothering to help in the slightest other than smart remarks every now and then. I was the one who did notice an immediate problem to a prisoner's health, then grabbed him/her and dragged him outside, and then yelled to take them to Medbay for me, as I was very busy. You complied, then a doctor took care of them. It'd be classified as letting a prisoner die under my care if I did nothing to prevent loss of life, or if I knew about their health and chose not to do anything. I did everything in my power to prevent loss of life, seeing as how the Warden was killed in the Communal Brig, hence why everyone was cuffed. 5:) I'm sorry, but I see quite a few discrepancies here. Firstly, it was said that someone died over the radio. Standing next to the Communal airlock, you openly said, as in, stated aloud, "Looks like a prisoner died in your care. Oh well, time to edit your records." And then left for the console. I didn't stop you because I had another prisoner (Jackson Clarke I believe) to deal with, as he had an infection that I had to treat him for. I would have liked you to watch over the six murderers inside, but it's evident that you're just trolling me and trying to make me mad, so you abandon that and instead decide to be petty. After I brought Jackson Clarke back, and put him in the Communal, several people were unbuckled and fiddling with their handcuffs, further accentuating the fact that you were off doing something else when they very clearly needed to be watched, as stated by myself multiple times. Then, after making sure everyone was secure, I went to the Records machine in the off chance that this Curnow character really was this petty and was this fixated on trying to upset me just to be that way. Sure enough, there was a paragraph-long record against me stating that I had let a prisoner die in my care (Which, as stated previously, was not true.) and was drafted by someone else, not Samantha Curnow. I asked over the Security comms if the Officer in question (Whose name was on the record as the recording personnel) actually did do it, and they said no, they didn't. That being said, I have one officer who didn't do anything to help, told me they were going to go get some booze on Code Red, watched me struggle to keep six murderers (And one vandalist) in line, openly laughed at me, and verbally stated they were going to change my records. Who do I suspect? I apologize, but when you asked for evidence, I did in fact, provide it. I told you that your confession was evidence, as proven by your statement some thirty minutes ago. You walked away right after that, saying, "Without forensic evidence I'm not going anywhere" or something of the like. It's at that point that I pulled out my taser, cut myself off, and aimed it at you. I told you very clearly that you were under arrest for Slander, and that you need to get on the ground. You didn't comply, and instead pulled out your baton and attempted to jab me. A short scuffle later, and you've been baton'd. I did in fact pull out my taser and shoot you while you were on the floor, though that's only because you just tried to attack me. I did not baton you more than necessary. I believe if I had to put a number on it, it would be twice I struck you with it. (On disarm intent) and that was only due to the fact that I was spam-clicking you because you were so slippery and kept on running away. 6:) You haven't seen Ihintza Livingstone in action, you've only seen her sister, Anja. Please keep in mind that everyone who had to interact with her that round, that she was extremely upset because her one co-worker wouldn't help her take care of prisoners that had escaped, rioted, and killed people, on the basis of "I'm too good for that. You can't boss me around." I'd like to also make it clear that the very same person complaining about how much of a Mary Sue athletic, over-qualified HoS Ihintza is, Callabaddie plays in the form of a Sec officer. Just take a look at what they posted for #1. This is extremely hypocritical, borderline copycat work in my eyes. I recognize that you may have had an "Athletic, 6-foot-something Security character in the work", but that's no reason to insult me and call her a Mary Sue, when you were literally playing one yourself. I also almost guarantee that I had Ihintza in the works longer than you had Cornow. (EDIT) 7:) I'd ignored this part as I didn't witness it and couldn't testify to the validity of it. But from what I've just read, this further solidifies my opinion that Samantha Curnow is an unacceptable character to be working aboard the NSS Aurora in the Security department. The reason the prisoner was not processed by Anja is because, she was personally watching over six murderers and an individual who attempted to bust them out. Not processing the prisoner yourself when it's quite literally your job in the absence of the Warden, (Which you knew, as I told you that the Warden was killed in the Communal Brig) and then letting him go because you were too lazy to even make an effort to put him in a cell is borderline horrendous work as a Security officer, "Para-military" or no. Clearly, she doesn't have the proper training as you so claim, nor should she be in a working environment such as this. I realize that some of this may come off as rude or brash, but I'm honestly as calm as can be. It's just the way I write, unfortunately. I don't mean offense by anything, and I'd appreciate input on this matter without insulting me or this topic getting side-tracked. I made this complaint for a reason, and I'd appreciate the lot of you respect that.
  15. As a matter of fact, no. I'm going to keep denying this as I have no memory of it whatsoever and if the individual in question was in fact innocent, I'd have no business incapacitating them for no reason while I was busy attempting to catch a criminal. Without proof, this is void. Of course that's my response-- Let's not forget Callabaddie's statements as well, hmm? http://puu.sh/lTyBb/4dcb1caf4d.png I'd like to compare myself to a punching bag. If you try to hit me hard enough, I'm going to hit back. If you're relatively chill, then hey, so am I. I'm not going to accept shit-talk or slandering my character application however, based on my actions in one round which was absolute hell to be in. I legitimately had to fill the Communal brig with sleeping gas. THAT'S how bad it got. No one was harmed from it of course, and I turned it off relatively quick. I'm not sure if you're a personal friend of Callabaddie or not, but my opinion is going to stand and I'm not going to back down. Feel free to spread as much slander as you'd like, no matter what you say, say it as many times as you'd like. Doesn't mean it's true.
  16. It's a good thing you can state the obvious, as I'm a mature adult and know that the world does not revolve around me. I do know however, what's supposed to be done and what isn't. Everything Callabaddie did, lived up to their name: Bad. Suggesting that I'm new has nothing to do with this whatsoever. This is a high-roleplay server, and I've been here for roughly a month and a week or so now, off-and-on. That's virtually no excuse and bringing it up has nothing to do with this. You say people's opinions here are to be respected? My opinion is that Callabaddie was a legitimately awful, textbook-bad Security officer who attempted to struggle when the noose was put around their neck for their bullshittery. I recognize that I'm not liked by a few, that's to be expected with my personality. I don't like people trying to make life hell for other people, and I like things being done correctly. As you said, people's opinions are to be respected here, and I'll respect yours. The only thing I ask for in return is the same thing.
  17. I'd appreciate a set of logs or at least some proof for these claims, as I haven't so much as touched SS13 this past week. Until then, I'm going to assume that you're horribly misinformed or simply thinking of someone else. I'd almost definitely remember flashing someone for no reason--As it's against what I do. The only time I'd ever "wordlessly" incapacitate someone is if they suddenly surprised me or I was under attack. Seeing as how randomly flashing a completely innocent person while chasing down someone isn't what I'd do, ever have done, or even been suspected of doing, I'm afraid I'm going to challenge your accusation. I'd also appreciate a screenshot or otherwise proof for "Rudely responding to logical arguments".

Regardless, I believe someone announced over the radio that somebody had died. Samantha Curnow immediately responds with (Not literally word for word, but this is what I remember her saying) "Welp, a prisoner died in your care. Time to put that in your records." While in truth, I had no prisoner die under my supervision. The deceased was Seon-Rin Illdenberg I believe, who had never been in the Communal or even regular Brig the entire time. Nope, immediately to the records machine, not so much as a word from her explaining otherwise, or even a question if Seon actually was under my care. I would have questioned her were it not for a prisoner (Jackson Clarke) having an infection I needed to deal with, so I brought him to Medbay to get fixed up, as the player of Jackson Clarke can testify to, and put him back in the Brig. I checked the Records console to confirm whether or not she actually had altered my records, and lo and behold, they were. Altered by-- Woah, now. A different Officer's name? (I sincerely apologize, but I cannot remember the officer's name in which Samantha used to include this horrendous bit of slander in my Sec records with.) So, let me get this straight. She instantly assumed that a prisoner died under my care without even questioning me, didn't help whatsoever when I was attempting to keep everyone in line, and then committed slander and attempted to blame another person for it. If that wasn't great enough, check out this next bit. When I confronted Callabaddie, (AKA Samantha Curnow) I informed her that she was to be put under arrest for Slander and Sabotage, seeing as how her name was taken off the Crew Manifest. I believed she'd also deleted her records so she wouldn't be set to arrest (I was later proven wrong, as I checked the Sec records just to make sure. It must have been a bug, as her name was no longer on the Manifest when I checked beforehand.) so her crimes were considered as Sabotage and Slander. She was to be arrested for the appropriate crimes, and I calmly informed her of this. She simply asked, "What evidence?" To which I replied with, quite literally, her confession. She then attempted to say "Without forensic evidence you're not arresting me" or something of the like, and attempted to run off. I whipped out my taser and pointed it at her, and told her to get on the ground. Her reaction was to then whip out her own baton and charge towards me. After a short fight, I have her in cuffs and she's down for the count-- I'd won against this awful, legitimately horrendous Security member, and now, she would have her time to shine in a cell. ...Until I examined her. My oh my, it looks like Samantha Curnow has ghosted. Callabaddie then informed me in LOOC that they ghosted, and they weren't dealing with this. Well, that's a pretty shitty mentality, seeing as how you attempted to beat me down and then got your teeth kicked in. (Metaphorically of course, I didn't so much as harm her.) I'll be including this in a complaint against Callabaddie as well, as shit-talking me on my Head app is a clear sign of an awful community member. Rip Callabaddie 2015.

  20. Bump. It's been a while since I first posted my application, and I'd very much like this looked at by a staff member.
  21. "Ihintza, darling. Come here." Rang out the smooth, smoke-laced voice of William Livingstone. He sat in his private study, a burnt-out cigar mashed into a glass ash tray to the right side of his arm chair on top a beautiful wooden table. Obediently, Ihintza stands up and gives her sisters a peck on the head each, leaving them to play with the toys. She walks across the wooden platform above her father and his business associate, and descends the winding steps. She stands before them both, bathed in the light of the fire from the fireplace. She's wearing a black, form-fitting catsuit with light padding all over it. As instructed by her father, she knew she'd have to demonstrate herself in some way. "She does look menacing, even at such a young age." A man in a navy-blue suit sitting across from William observed, scratching the beginnings of his beard. His eyes roved over her body, nodding at the bulges in her arms. William looked pleased. "She turned twelve just last week, and is already the star pupil in her studies. Aren't you, sweetheart?" Ihintza nodded, not bothering to verbally strengthen her commitment in school. William adjusted in his seat, fixing his red tie in his black business suit. He nods towards the blue-suited man. "Charlie, let me tell you. My girl's the prize of my life. My shining jewel. I want you to make my jewel radiant, into the diamond she's destined to be. There's a folder underneath the doily, I want you to take a look at it." Nodding, Charlie looks to his left, and removes the file from beneath the doily. He opens it, and reads down the papers inside. They're nothing but tests from a private school, notes and assignments alike, though with such high marks, Charlie was beginning to see exactly why he'd been asked to view it. He sets the folder back down. "William, I understand why you're trying to push so hard for her. I have children of my own, I know what it's like to make them want to be the best they can be. But at such a young age...don't you think it's unethical to put her through our programs at Ocitox?" William stared at him, the blue of Charlie's suit being conflicted by the warm licks of the fire. "I don't. The earlier she starts, the better. My Ihintza's never been one to turn down a challenge, she'll push herself as hard as she can to do this. You know how much she wants this, Charlie. Not only are your programs the beginning of every Great's career, I just don't trust anyone else with her. You're an utter master in your field, and you know what you're doing on any given day. If she goes with you, I know I'll get what I'm paying for. And...coming to the topic of money...I'll pay whatever price need be." William reaches inside his breast pocket, and slowly reveals a credit chip, the exact amount unknown. Charlie sets his lips together and sighs, shaking his head slowly. He takes one last glance over at Ihintza, who would be patiently waiting in the same position as before. She looked expectantly towards him. Somehow, with the reflection of the fire in her eyes, Charlie perceived it as not a reflection at all. More of a literal ambition to burn as brightly as a star. "...Alright William, you silver-tongued bastard. She starts the Monday of next week."
  22. Err, just to clear something up. In that particular case, the reason I sent for the Captain's arrest was because he attempted to order my arrest. Once I showed him that I did indeed know what I was talking about, he started to get pissed off, and then ordered me to leave the Botanist alone. That's almost quite literally against what the SoP states, as only an official ranking higher than the Captain may pardon crimes. Upon me refusing the clearly illegal order, he ordered my arrest. It's at that point where no one even attempted to speak to me or even arrest me, and I called for the Captain's arrest. The Head of Security onboard at that time agreed with my judgement.
  23. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeell, the last thing I want is for my application to be sidetracked, but to be fair, this is what actually happened in that situation. And that's what really happened, as Coolbc could have went into a little more depth to explain. But hey, you've informed everyone that your post wasn't a negative review, and you like the idea of her. Thank you for your +1.
  24. BYOND key: Ove Character names: Ove Livingstone, Anja Livingstone How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Only for a week and a half. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I feel like people could benefit having someone who really knows what they're doing in a Head position, especially for one such as Security. Why did you come to Aurora?: Other servers simply didn't appeal to my tastes. While I can't exactly agree with everyone's behavior on Aurora, playerbase and staff included, I feel like it's the best server for me at this current time. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes, of course. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplaying is pretending to be something you aren't or couldn't actually be. If I were asked what roleplaying is, I would introduce someone to Space Station 13, as this game is all about that. What roleplay should be about, is enjoying yourself and raising the spirit of those you're playing with. I've seen some questionable things from the members of this community so far, which disappoints me that that isn't the case here. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: This is an...iffy question at best. However, the purpose of a head of staff is to provide leadership for their subordinates. Going with the theme of good roleplaying, it could even be considered not too far from real life. You inspire people to follow you, and show that you're deserving of your position. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: One thing that immediately comes to mind is if you have a Head whitelist, you aren't constantly belittering people in OOC over petty squabbles and the like. You need to upkeep the fact that you've been accepted for a Whitelist for a reason. As tasteless as this sounds, you need to maintain your image. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Ihintza Livingstone Character age: 30 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): A man in a black suit and red tie walked briskly along the hallway, fixing his Nanotrasen Representative badge on his left collar. He opened the airlock and stepped inside the observation room, overlooking a small arena. Inside the room, a short, slightly chubby man met him dressed in a parade uniform. They both nodded. They closed the distance between each other, and shook hands. Inside the arena, a woman standing at the height of 6'4 walked inside, looking expectantly up towards the one-way mirror of the observation room. Her hair was white as snow, and a deathly determined expression was on her face, accompanied by an uninterested look in her eyes. What a peculiar combination. "Send in the Four-One-Three Outfit. Those'll give us plenty of time." The man in the suit said, which the shorter man quickly nodded to, pressing a button to open the arena. Several doors slid out, giving way to four rather large men, outfitted with lightweight padded armor for hand to hand combat. The woman slowly faced them, and braced herself in a stance. Slowly worming a lopsided, charismatic grin on his face, the man in the suit smiled to the shorter one, the two of them taking a seat. Opening a file, the suited man begins, "Her name is...Ihintza? Ihintza Livingstone." He cast his eyes up at the shorter man, who nodded. "Interesting name. Let's see here...trained in Command, Close Quarters Combat, basic First Aid, EVA, basic knowledge of IT- Okay, I get it, she knows a lot." He tosses the file aside onto a table. "I'm interested, I like the way she looks, and she sounds promising. Before I make a decision though, tell me. Why am I here, what can she offer us." The Rep looks out the window briefly and winces as one of the armored men are brought down with a bone-shattering punch. His mouth twists into a grin again, though he focuses on the short man in front of him, who nods. "Miss Livingstone is perhaps one of the more...'capable', people who fit the legislation of Nanotrasen. Not only has she proven herself effective in physical situations," He gestures outside the window as another man is flipped over the woman's arm, quickly silenced with a palmed strike against his diaphragm. "Eheh...but boosts an incredible mental library, as well. As you can see in her file, she's quite adept. I guarantee you wouldn't find a better Head of Security onboard your vessel. And...I dare say, even though she wouldn't admit it, I think she wants to see her sisters again." The suited man looks over and watches as the last two men are dispatched with a rather complicated-looking maneuver in which she almost gracefully, if ruthlessly, hits them so many times in succession they barely have the wit to make a sound before they crumple. She breathes out slowly, staring down at the defeated foes without a scratch, and slowly looks up towards the mirrored observation room. The Nanotrasen representative slowly draws his gaze from the amazonian, before his features twist into a grin once more. "We'll get back to you." What do you like about this character?: I like the fact that she's a SecCom who knows what they're doing, and the fact that she's the older sister of the twins, Ove and Anja. My first impression of this server's security was borderline horrendous, and I started creating this character to whip everyone into shape. It's a while later, and here I am, finally unveiling her. What do you dislike about this character?: She's rather hardcore, and abides to her job and the Corporate Regulations without fault. This is both her greatest strength and weakness, as hopefully she'll be able to whip people into shape about the line where things are allowed, and aren't. Another thing is that I know for a fact she'll be unpopular with the more "Easygoing" crowd, as I've personally seen on the server where if Security tells one person to stop doing something, that person was involved with their meta-buddies and immediately started causing a scene, and ended up getting a much worse sentence than was originally prescribed. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: She's literally the worst person to commit a crime in front of; That being of course one of her best qualities. Heads of staff are well respected in this community because it's so damn hard to get one for your department. Having Ihintza as a Head of Security would be extremely beneficial to the Security team, as she completely knows what she's doing and does not tolerate disrupting the chain of command. She's fit to be a head of staff because she's fair, honest, and will always crack down with the law. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: At the risk of looking like an egotistical bag of poop, I'd honestly rate my roleplaying as a 9/10. Extra notes: [DANGER! ACCEPT AT OWN RISK! THIS CHARACTER WILL LEGITIMATELY BRING CHANGE TO THE SECURITY TEAM!]
