How long have you been playing on Aurora?: About a week


Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: The default roles are great but I have largely explored them all to their potential. Having a head role would allow me to use my knowledge of the roles and equipment to benefit others on the station, as well as give me more depth of gameplay.


Why did you come to Aurora?: I found the lack of RP in other servers to be extremely frustrating.

Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes, I've most likely read the majority of guides on the BS12 wiki, including all the head roles.

 

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Firstly I think roleplay is about providing the best experience for everyone involved, meaning even if you're a traitor tasked with killing someone you can still role play that out with them instead of simply attacking them without saying anything. Secondly I think roleplay is about immersion, it is about putting yourself into the shoes of your character and making decisions that you think they would make.


What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: My understanding is that the OOC purpose is to help others and make sure everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing.


What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I think your main responsibility is to lead by example and model good behaviour. Setting a bad example would be detrimental to everyone who enjoys the server.

 

Character name: Amos Jerome

Character age: 49

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):

Amos Jerome is a middle aged man who studied to be scientist and spent most of his life conducting research on his home planet. Realising that he was restless and his work was becoming tedious Amos Jerome spontaneously signed up for a science role in the orbital research facility NSS Aurora.


Unsure of what he'll find, Amos looks forward to being out in the vast emptiness of space and talking with interesting characters he meets in Aurora.


What do you like about this character?: He's a character that is similar to myself in a lot of ways and I enjoy that because it makes him easy to relate to and role play with. A lot of the decisions that he would make are like my own.


What do you dislike about this character?: I can't think of anything I dislike about him, rather pedantically I would probably go and change anything I disliked about him when I had the chance and that's really what I've done. Amos is probably the 4th or 5th iteration of the character.


Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff?: Yes I do.


Why?: He's fit to be a head of staff because he's capable and a head of staff role would be age appropriate for him. Spending time with the 20 year olds and the 30 year olds doing basic research really isn't his thing. He already spent most of his life doing that, he's wise enough now to be the research director and would fit that role well I think.

 

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I would rate it as sufficient but could use improvement.

 

Extra notes:

I'm someone who has played many servers and who has played SS13 for about 4 years now. I know the game inside and out, I've played every job class, built just about everything that can currently be built and had lots of experience with head roles while in other servers. Also I know all the formatting for writing good documents, contracts and reports within with the game.
