Why do you wish to play this specific race:

Love the idea behind them, multiple life-forms bonded together. Really interesting to think about the internal dialog between all the nymphs in the gestalts bickering over the right things to do. Also like that they have no real culture so the way that they interact with others is mostly just a mish-mash of what they’ve learned over their time spend in other cultures.

 

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

As a human you’re an individual, you have one mind and make your own choices. Dionae are multiple beings working as one they think differently, rationalise things differently, have different needs and wants. Most humans would be after money or certain items to make themselves happy, where as to Dionae money isn’t really a priority knowledge and information is. Aside from that is the need for light, pretty much all other races can survive without light, but not Dionae.

 

Character Name: Seekers Of Veiled Truths

Please provide a short backstory for this character:

 

A Cyclops-gestalt formed of seven nymphs hailing from the derelict SASV Ophion. Once peace talks were concluded and the deal was struck these nymphs formed together to settle their debt. The Gestalt was taken to Ceres then trained swiftly and immediately put to work as a miner, when the time came its Nymphs were chipped. After 15 years of labour, they were finally debt free, deciding to stay in solarian space they remained on Ceres signing a contract with the Beltway Mining Company agreeing to continue working for another 15 years to master their trade as a miner.

Once their contract was complete, the gestalt began travelling around Sol, seeing its planets and exploring its cultures absorbing all the knowledge they possibly could along the way. Upon visiting the Martian capital of Olympia, Seekers Of Veiled Truths developed a fascination with books after entering a local book-store, the gestalt became fascinated over the stories within, the secrets hidden within their pages. Never staying in one place too long, they never really had a home, staying mostly in hostels and hotels while travelling.  Once the blockade of Tau Ceti was over, Seekers Of Veiled Truths learned that Nanotrasen was in need of miners to work aboard the N.S.S. Aurora, an interview was arranged, a contract signed and the gestalt now had fresh secrets to unearth.

 

What do you like about this character?

Really like the idea that its an avid book collector, taking time out its day to find and read old books to gather more knowledge. Apart from that I like the back-story of humanity finding the Dionae and I’m hoping I’ll get some interesting RP from Solarian Characters after they learn what cluster it’s from.

How would you rate your role-playing ability?

I’d say I’m a decent role-player, I use all the information off the wiki I can to make my characters believable.
