Bubbins
Hey y'all! Bubbins here. I just arrived, and I love what you all are doing here, and would love to contribute. BYOND Key: Bubbins Character Names: Amehlo Altun Species you are applying to play: IPC Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I love robots, and who doesn't? I find robots to be interesting to play as, because you get to explore all kinds of concepts and ideas. They really scratch my sci-fi itch! Additionally, as a newcommer to Aurorastation, they seem like the most natural racial progression after human, as they have the least lore, backstory, and culture to become accustomed to. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: As an IPC, you aren't a citizen under any legislation. People treat you differently, and it can really get to you. Whether it's seeking freedom or just trying to get by, you're always at a societal disadvantage. Likewise, you treat other people differently. This can be more subservient, trying to keep off their bad side, or more bitter, hating the way the world treats you. You're a little more invisible to everyone else. Character Name: Spirit (Let me know if there are any regulations on IPC naming - search as I might, I haven't found any.) Please provide a short backstory for this character: Spirit starts off as a newly-enlisted, naive service droid in mint condition. Preprogrammed etiquette procedures can only get you so far - their early interactions will be a little awkward, and they'll definitely make some mistakes. As they gain more experiences to draw from, their personality will start to "break in" as they develop a personality - one of optimism, empathy, and diligence. They'll pick up a hobby or two and start identifying as a male. That's the idea, anyway - maybe he'll start seeing things that will make him a different person. What do you like about this character?: I like how, being new and robotic, Spirit will have a very blank slate, allowing for some observational humor as they learn more about space station activities. Also, their status as starting out non-binary and eventually becoming male could be an interesting dynamic. Frankly, I think they'll be easier for me to roleplay than a human. How would you rate your role-playing ability?: High. I have years of roleplaying experience through Dungeons and Dragons, as well as many forms of online roleplaying. I've played all sorts of characters in countless different settings. Notes: This is a cool server, and I like being a part of it! Link to comment
niennab
Thank you for applying. The background is however bare-bones and calls for a two paragraph minimum. Can you greatly expand upon it? I am fine with new accounts to the server applying however since it is difficult to vet new players, I expect a more well rounded or air tight application. As well as expanding upon this question here: 12 minutes ago, Bubbins said: Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Link to comment
Bubbins
My mistake. I thought it asked for less than 1 paragraph. Must have misread it. I'll probably fix it within the next 12 hours. Edit: Scratch that; day got ahead of me. I'll update the post soon enough. Edited August 30, 2020 by Bubbins Link to comment
