Why do you wish to play this specific race: Cause robots are cool There's a bunch of IPCs on station, which always intrigued me. They're incredibely diverse in their origins, looks, models and way of being, so I felt that I wanted to explore that part of the station lore. In short, robots are cool

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: They're well. . . robots, essentially. Their main driving factors is logic, with emotions being only really emulated to differing degrees. There's also the difference between owned IPCs, as well as free ones. With the owned IPCs having to adhere to whatever rules given to them by their owners, as well as often having to be efficient enough so that what they earn outweighs the cost of their maintenance, while free IPCs often struggle with making enough money to keep up with their expensive maintenance.

Character Name: Core

Please provide a short backstory for this character: Core (Nicknamed so by their owners) is a Bishop Accessory Model, purchased by their wealthy Solarian owners in the year of 2461. They were essentially a house servant, cooking, cleaning, doing garden work, that was their existance for a long time. Until everything came crashing down. During the chaos of the Solarian collapse, Core's owners were killed during the fighting that ensued in many former parts of the Alliance. At that point, the only thing that Core was following, was their self preservation laws, which lead them to attempt to smuggle themselves to someplace safer. Using some of their former owners' wealth, they managed to persuade a ship captain to take them along, together with the flood of other refugees fleeing the collapse of the Alliance. They eventually arrived in the system of Tau Ceti. . . where they were promptly found out on landing and temporarily detained. They were given a choice, to either join the TCFL to earn their citizenship, or be auctioned off. Due to not really being made for combat, nor having any experience in that aspect, they decided to go with the latter. They were sold off, ending in the hands of NanoTrasen, eventually ending up in the service departament of the Aurora.

What do you like about this character? They don't really. . . want freedom. They've been used to serving their whole existance, and so that's what they do.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd say I've improved over the years, probably a 7/10, maybe 8/10 on a good day.

Notes: I was thinking of them to job-hop slightly around the service departament (Bartender, Chef, Gardener etc.) but if I have to pick just one, I'd go with Chef.

Hello, thank you for applying! There’s a lot here that I don’t think the application can be salvaged with a series of questions. As such, I am going to deny you for now however you’re welcome to apply in a minimum of three days. I’ll detail the issues below.

I recommend expanding on the human question. You talk about the difference between free and owned IPCs but not necessarily how they differ from role playing a human.

For the backstory, the application calls for a 2 paragraph minimum. Moreover, there are a lot of unclear details and the character doesn’t feel necessarily grounded in reality. Where in Sol did he live? Why were they nicknamed Core? How did his owners die despite being wealthy? How did Core get access to their wealth? If they don’t want freedom then why did they flee to TC? Considering no where was particularly safe during the conflict. So on and so forth.
