Why do you wish to play this specific race: The Diona are very appealing to me in terms of mechanical and thematic identity. Their lore and history just sorta grabbed me right away and I knew I wanted to play one. I've always enjoyed the more unique races in rpgs and whatnot because I think they bring a lot to the table in terms of interesting perspectives and approaches a character can have. 

What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: To start with, they aren't human. Obvious yeah, but it deserves to be said. Dionae is plural because Dionae are Gestalt, the closest comparison I can think of is Legion in Mass Effect where there are a number of minds in the whole, all working together to operate the body. And speaking of this phenomenon; Dionae are pacifistically inclined because of their Echo Chamber, essentially, sensations, especially pain, will shockwave through the Diona gestalt causing other Diona in the gestalt to feel an echo of the pain, THAT pain also shockwaves, as such, the idea of inflicting pain on someone is abhorrent to many Dionae, though it fades with age. Dionae are also unique in that no Dionae thinks the same as another, though their minds can be broadly categorized.

Character Name: Glory of the Unchained Seeing The Light

Please provide a short backstory for this character: Glory spent much of their life in the Republic of Biesel They are a Harmonius Hymn type Dionae whose formative experiences involve a great deal of conflicting experiences. They are the product of a slaver ring in district Eleven. on Biesel trafficking Diona,  Glory Spent much of their early years enslaved before a police raid on the slavery ring allowed them to escape from their prison, badly injured, but alive nonetheless. Many of the Nymphs in the Gestalt were saved by the assistance of a black market doctor, who took Glory in to his clinic, and let them recover there.

Glory spent many years with that doctor, seeing some of the best and worst the spur had to offer, when one day, the doctor ended up injured because of a supply deal gone wrong, Glory consumed some of his blood, and used the knowledge they gained to save his life, this was the first time Glory consumed blood, and it changed their perspective a great deal. By the time Glory moved on from that clinic, they knew their purpose; it was twofold, to do whatever they could to make sure no one, regardless of species, was treated like they were. And to do what they could to heal anyone hurt in the pursuit. Glory's experiences have shaped them into a somewhat unusual Dionae, adopting a Blood-Leaning Orthodox Eternal faith and adhereing much closer to ideaology of Hope-of-Starlight than many Dionae would be comfortable with if they were made aware. Despite all of this, Glory is a very empathetic Dionae, and cares deeply about the lives and wellbeing of almost anyone around them. However Glory could be described as hot-headed, with many Diona in the gestalt being quick to anger in the face of injustice or abuse of power.

Glory eventually decided to go into medicine, leveraging their learned and absorbed experience into a swift period of study and an even swifter rise through the ranks, eventually opening up their own clinic, which became known over the years as a safe place for anyone to be treated, and a sort of neutral ground for all parties involved. A few decades of running that clinic resulted in their being scouted by the Eagle Corps of the ePMC as a doctor and a combat medic for hazardous environments. They distinguished themself during their service, and eventually retired from active duty, at which point they were approached and directly hired on by Nanotrasen to work aboard the Horizon.

What do you like about this character? I think Glory is so compelling to me because they are in many ways, an exercise in contradicting elements finding a way to exist in harmony. Glory is outwardly calm, kind, and warm, as they strive to emulate the people who showed them kindness and brought them joy. But underneath that is a nigh-bottomless wellspring of hate for anyone who tries to inflict pointless pain and misery on others. And I think it will prove fun and interesting to roleplay as the CONDITIONAL side of conditional pacifism. At the end of the day Glory is the kind of wildcard that you either want in your pocket or want to set on fire so it can't screw up your hand.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd say average, maybe a 5 or a 6 out of 10. But I don't really have a good way to tell so it could be anything really.

Hi, overall we feel your app is fairly solid and does a good job at answering most question's we have, although we still do have a few questions:

• Did they meet and interact with other Dionae before being freed? Do you feel this would affect them in any way?
• How do they feel about the other species? Humans and synths especially?
• What specific job do you plan on playing as them? It's implied they're in medical, but what specific job?

Also, we have some concerns over how recently you joined the server, so we'd like to let the app sit a bit before giving a final decision to let you get some more experience under your belt. Hi there! I'll answer your questions first:

Glory would have seen various Dionae and Diona, but probably wouldn't have known many of them for long. the slavers got lucky in acquiring Glory when they were extremely young, and they held them captive for years, but one thing the Dionae Glory met would have taught Glory was to resist the captivity, that this was not how life was supposed to be lived, and that there was more to life than servitude.

Glory sees how IPCs and Synths are treated as largely second class citizens or, at worst property, and hates it. It reminds her of how they were treated in captivity. Glory does still feel some fear whenever they encounter a human, but they've learned to deal with it over the years. It's just that the trauma of their imprisonment was so deep that some of the scars remain to this day. Intellectually Glory knows that humans, like everyone else, aren't all the same, and tries to take things on a case by case basis.

I'm planning on Glory being a Surgeon/Physician, and maybe, if I ever decide to apply for the Command whitelist further down the line, a CMO, with some auxiliary skills due to their long life, and the skills they acquired through absorbing blood. For example, Glory devoted a good amount of time during their education to learning at least the basics of every medical field they could, and during the time they were running their clinic, and their time in the Eagle Corps, they would have learned Shh'ush to at least a rank of Shee'cha or Shee'che, their name is part of a promise they made when they were freed. They would never again be chained. If things had gone differently they probably would have been a security officer, but as things stand they lack any sort of training with ranged weaponry.

Meant to include this in the original post but I completely forgot last minute, something to add is that Dionae are not hired at all by the EPMC, same with the PMCG, meaning it wouldn't really be lore-possible for your dionae to have been hired by them. This isn't a major issue, and you don't need to re-edit part of your backstory to reflect the changes, just a response to what you'd change it to is enough. Again, sorry for not including this in the original post!

that's fine, I can change it to NT without much issue. I've reread your comment and realized I missed the part where you wanted me to add what I'd change, Rather than working for PMCG, Glory would probably have worked in a hospital in district 11 for a period of time, leading up into them being hired by Nanotrasen, they'd also be less used to violence and less willing to harm. Beyond that, not much would change.
